Buying a Car in Panama -What type of car should I buy when I move to Panama

I saw a lot of Suzuki Jimnys when I was in Panama. But I'd stick with Toyota.

How do car prices compare between Panama and U.S. car dealers? Are there extra VAT type taxes added onto new or used cars bought in Panama?
