This is why I moved to the woods
When we moved into our rental house in May 2002 we discovered one of the neighbors letting his yorkie yapper mutt loose into the neighborhood dropping presents. So right after discovering this I went to a restaurant supply store and bought six large industrial size containers of black pepper. That night I put pepper up and down the neighbor's yards, outside the lawn perimeters inside the curbs and driveways, the next morning the neighbor was shouting at his dog not their yard. None of had presents after that, and no one ever know why or how, I didn't even tell my Fiancee at the time.

When lending anyone anything, I like how it’s my job to ask for it back otherwise they think you don’t really need it.
The barking dog is the worst. If you can't train a dog...don't f**kin get one.
My neighbors have like 3 dogs,3 kids and chickens.
This is my neighbors. I have six kids, if I can get a quiet moment out on my porch swing to collect my thoughts and peace of mind, the last thing I need is my neighbors four dogs barking nonstop at me. 🤦

With many people, the dogs mostly bark when the humans aren't at home. When they are, the dogs don't have so much to bark at and the humans keep them in check. At least some of those people have no idea that their dogs are doing that because they never witness it.
I got lucky, after years of former bad neighbors finally selling their homes to move out I ended with neighbors who have quiet well- trained dogs, who play loud music only during the day but magically stop by 8p.m and who have the decency to say, "Hello" if they see other people.

I’ve had neighbors that I’ve invited over to parties and dinner, and neighbors I’ve purposely made their lives more difficult. I’ll be as cool as you are. Neighbors can be a fantastic asset for fun though!

We actually had our neighbors tree fall in our yard but it was our responsibility to pay to have it removed since it was a wetland area we just cut it up in manageable stand launched it back into their area
The loud music where it vibrates your home with a new born definitely sucks. Specially when they dont give a fuck.

I had the 2 best neighbors you could for the last 20 years. Older single dudes. Like not even having neighbors. They both left last year now i have childless gen z couples on both sides. They will probably stay that way after seeing my ferrell kids.
And that's why I live out in the country! Nobody cares much if my dogs bark, or all the neighborhood dogs have a bark fest. Everybody has them as watch dogs. Sound doesn't carry that far, so loud music is just a passing curiosity. Tree leaves? Good mulch, but not many trees around, and nobody's yard is close to anyone else's. As long as you don't steal or shoot at your neighbors, you're good. If you do, you might become mulch.
My perfect neighbor is a retired old couple

@@theaterthug7 Believe it or not, there are loud parties and late hours of disturbances from these folks as well as the typical, old folks with dogs hassles.
