    Great review! I love my full size Diamond 580. Now I’ll have to try the mini! I’m also off to check out Berlin Notebooks as soon as I’m done leaving this note.

      Take a look at the Lineatura notebooks by Berlin. I bought one when I had a coupon and it was already marked down and now I am spoiled. It is the best notebook I have ever used. I will do a video soon. I wish they were not so hard to get!

    Glad you’re enjoying it… I have to say that I love all my my TWSBIs😉 including my standard size 580…(I don’t post any of my pens except for my moonman mini!)… happy holidays!

      I wish I loved the Ecos. So many fun colours! It's just not a good fit for me. I love Moonman pens. I have them for my glittery inks. They are a joy to use!

    Thank you for the lovely review. Perfect timing. My husband just asked me what I wanted for the holiday and I said a new fountain pen. I have not tried a Twisbi yet, and had been eyeing the diamond rosegold/white. I recently purchased a sailor compass to try out a sailor pen. And I love it. But I’m so nervous to spend over $200 for a gold nib sailor. Especially not being sure which model and size would be right for me.

    • @kateriewing
      @kateriewing  Год назад +1

      The Compass is a really nice pen for the cost. I love mine. But a Sailor Pro Gear is a really different experience. I have a Medium Fine and a medium, and I love them both, but the medium is soooo smooth and yet still has that delicious Sailor feedback, which I love. But this TWSBI... it is a dream to write with. I can't even imagine how smooth the medium must be. I hope that whatever you choose is so perfect and gives you so much pleasure :)

      @@kateriewing Thanks for the feedback. If you had to choose only one sailor would you get the Pro Gear or the Pro Gear Slim? Size wise which one is the compass closet to. I love the feedback on the compass, it slows my handwriting just enough for it to be legible. Thank you so much for the help. I’m slowly descending into the fountain pen rabbit hole, and loving it.

      @@thistlesandpoppies Okay, so the Pro Gear Slim is closer to the Compass. The Pro Gear is a bit wider. I find it very very comfortable and the 21K nib is soooo nice. I LOVE the Pro Gear Slims I have though. So much. And the only reason I have a Pro Gear is because I had a good coupon for an already deeply discounted older model. It's not a special edition, just an off white. But honestly it is very comfortable for me. And the nib! But if you have smaller, thinner fingers I think the Slim version is perfect. THe Sound of Rain series had the 21K nibs and they are EXQUISITE.

      @@kateriewing Katerie, thank you so much for taking the time to respond and providing me your thoughts. I’ve searched for the size comparison and had not found this level of detail. This helps immensely. Both sound like wonderful pens.

    I love this pen as well! I tend to like the smaller fountain pens like this one, Kaweco and Sailor PG slims- I am so tempted to get this Twsbi in Iris- I wish they made a mini in the iris or the black/rose gold 😩 anyway I have had my Twsbi rg mini inked with the same ink since I got this pen in 2020- Kyo-no-oto Yamabuki-iro, but this ink in yours is so good I may have to give it a go 😊

    Hi! Thanks for this review. Your print handwriting is a showstopper :)
    I feel the same way you do about the ECO vs. the 580. For me, it has a lot to do with the grip section: the ECO's section tapers too fast and gets too narrow (like a classic ice cream cone), while the 580's section is closer to being cylindrical (like a toilet paper roll). Also, the ECO feels backweighted with its chunky body all out of proportion to its tiny brontosaurus-head nib and -- because of shape of the section -- I feel like I can't get a secure grip to stop the pen from falling out of my hand! (Exaggerating just slightly). To say nothing of the fact that the 580 has a nicer weight and build quality and all that... :)

    I’m a huge fan of TWSBI. I have a bunch of the Ecos, but I know they’re not for everyone. I also have the Vac Mini, but wish I got the Diamond Mini instead. I feel like vac fillers are a gimmick; it’s cool, but not the most efficient method of filling a pen.

    • @kateriewing
      @kateriewing  Год назад

      I have been wondering about the vac. I am terrible at cleaning pens like that so I have shied away from it. I want to love the Ecos. I LOVE how pretty they are all lined up in every colour. Just not a match for my hand. The Diamonds in both sizes are just for me! I hope you will try one one day! xo
