    Video description / background:
    I was given the chance to hop on a Korua Pocket Rocket 129, and sure enough, I took it!
    Boards like this one here push the extremes of what's rideable, and of course the rider has to adjust to the board quite a bit. But that can also be the fun part about it! Every board wants to be ridden in a certain way, and after all you learn whether you can do it, whether you find out what you need to change about your riding to make it work, whether this might inspire your riding on your 'normal' boards.... If you pay attention, you will find out what you really need to perform at your best.

    I love my Rocket. Mine has a full channel so I can ride it with any stance angle and width. It’s the 2.0 version. It’s great on smooth groomers, fresh powder, and the slush. It’s fun on ice if you like to slide around super lose. Bumps are not the greatest. It’s great in the park as well. Small to medium jumps and boxes. Rails are interesting with beveled base. O and everyone in the lift line will talk to you. Cheers. Thanks for all the great content 💯🤙💯

      @@Justaride-Snowboard-Channel Dunno about content suggestions, but I've got a question, seeing as I'm really new to snowboarding, what would you say is the better way to go about learning to carve, down-unweighted or up-unweighted on the edge change? Or that is a completely irrelevant? 🙂

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@nemaemanema3940 Up unweighted!! It is much more useful and will be used much more often in non carve scenarios as well. It is an important movement to learn in general. Down unweighted is very much an advanced carving technique. I hardly ever use it, although it has its benefits and purpose. I apply a mixed version. up unweighted at the edge change, then bend the knees before fall line, then extend the knees through the fall line into an up unweighted edge change.... It has elements of both techniques in it.
      For now you certainly may have other things to worry about :-)

    Loved this board, granted I was on the new one with edges and flat base from side to side. I'm typically in the same realm as Lars, as far as board preference, but this one was a hoot. Surprisingly intuitive and competent right off the bat - better than you think. Wouldn't want it on hardpack, but so fun in any soft snow/slush.

      Thank you very much! The idea of this video was to point out that it’s often ‘despite the board’ and not ‘because of the board’. It was challenging to make this work, as I explain on the chair lift. It’s not a great board for carving - obviously. It was my curiosity going ‘I wonder whether I can make this work.’ 😅

  • @th3oryO
    @th3oryO 5 месяцев назад

    I built a couple rocker to flat 139s and they're a ton of fun! Different shapes ride so differently; it's well worth the time to try as mqny as you can. Not sure why you'd bevel the edges outside of the tip as edge grip is so essential, but sounds fun for a few runs.
    I'll have to take a look, might be worth modifying the design

    • @rutgerros9514
      @rutgerros9514 5 месяцев назад

      I think the bevel is to improve the edge transition (which is needed because of the width I guess). and / or for more play, imagine you could ride it like a skimboard. Would love to try one some day

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  5 месяцев назад +1

      @@rutgerros9514 it definitely makes the board 'roll over' onto the new edge. The issue with that base shape is that moment of no control. You gotta be very intentional changing edges and work your lower joints rapidly - then it works.

      If you already own six boards and ride a ton and want that fun, weird, crazy flavour somewhere in your quiver, this is a cool little toy. If you expect an all mountain ride for most days, you won't be getting your lift pass's worth out of the experience on the board. It is so fun, and it also has so many limitations!

    I wish I could justify buying myself one of these. This looks like crazy silly fun. But when only riding 10 days a year it would probably be a bit of a waste.

      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oh man……. I’d say pointless!!
      This is a fun little board, but it would be somewhere between number five and eight on the list of boards for a quiver. It’s an absolute luxury to buy one of those. I wouldn’t want to spend more than a morning on it, maybe four days per season… It’s just not enough of anything. But definitely fun.

    • @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel
      @Justaride-Snowboard-Channel  5 месяцев назад

      It's not a performance snowboard in any way. It's simply fun to ride it, because it is so weird... I think they made the base flat now and not beveled. That would make the board much more useful, while also making it a little harder to get it up on edge.
      We're all different. It might be the right addition for you. It wouldn't be for me.
