Much to the delight of melodic rock fans around the globe,W.E.T. has announced the release of their fourth album, “Retransmission” on January 22, 2021 via Frontiers Music Srl. Core members Jeff Scott Soto, Erik Mårtensson, and Robert Såll deliver another astounding album that will surely be a contender for Melodic Rock Album of the Year in 2021.
W.E.T truly epitomizes what melodic rock has become in the new decade. The key element at the foundation of W.E.T has always been to create a modern melodic hard rock sound that will drive the genre into the future. Combining powerhouse rhythms and top notch production (courtesy of Erik Martensson), the music is equally classic and contemporary. “Retransmission” is nothing else than an absolute milestone,which is well in keeping with the tradition established by the three amazing records that have preceded this one.
Starting with a genre-defining self-titled debut, Robert Såll(the “W” from Work of Art), Erik Mårtensson (the “E” from Eclipse), and JeffScott Soto (the “T” from Talisman) accepted the daunting task to give that debut a follow-up, “Rise Up”. After that stellar follow-up, their third opus, “Earthrage”, cemented a legacy of music which will stand the test of time.

Never heard of W.E.T. before. Come up as a recommendation on Facebook & I'm glad. This song has really touched my sensitive side. Everything about it I love, the sound of guitar riffs, the drum beats, the timing & tuning, the sound of the singer's voice & of course the lyrics. Feel like I'm gonna be hooked onto this song for a while.

Great new tune from them. Especially cool is how they edited Jeff’s US shot scenes in with the rest of the guys overseas.
JSS is one of that rare breed, whose vocals haven't shown even the slightest decline in tonal quality, range or power as he's got older
He's singing as well as ever here.
I think he is singing better than ever. Such a rich tone to his voice.
His tonal quality is a lot better than in his younger years, his range isn‘t as high as before. His voice has gotten a lot deeper and it has become a lot harder for him hitting the super high notes live. But he is a perfect example that a singer doesn‘t need to put out the highest vocals ever to convince his audience. His tone and feeling is almost unmatched, he is what I consider a perfect singer.
@@Heavymetaleternia Exactly as you say. Many people think the higher the range the better the singer. Which is not true. Jeff's overall singing has improved a lot, intonation and phrasing is much better, he changed his technique using much more of a head voice which I think makes his vocal unique. An impressive singer really.
Roman Fictum Yes, his higher vocals as heard in many W.E.T. songs sound a lot more open and heady as his screaming high vocals in the past. It‘s this kind of soft head voice singing type he also used when he was in the band Journey.
I just thought the exact opposite. His range declined, so now he has to sing the higher notes with less power and weaker tone to hit them at all. Happens to a lot of aging vocalists.
Another fine song from the greatest modern AOR Band ever! Can’t wait to buy the album!
