A really nice change honestly. It almost reminded me of another animation (from years ago)with X Y starters where the trainers ended up throw away their starters after they saw the final evolution of the pokemons. Thankfully this one isn't like that.

Like we already had that one fire starter in Kalos and Incineroar in Alola, couldn't we have just had a quadruped final evolution for once ? I love how Meowscarda is like a dark magician. Even when does moves like bullet seed or it’s signature move its like “muahahaha im going to win so you better stand down”. I also like its animation when you take it out of its pokeball where its so fast and it could catch up to the legendary you’re riding on. It’s also cute how it’s sleeping and how it puts its hands behind like it’s being shy. Just a great Pokémon for me it’s so good.
meowmeow is a goated starter idc what anyone says. Its blazing fast with excellent offensive stab typings and very strong and diverse moves to back it up on either side, physical or special. It also gets protean as its hidden ability which is one of my favorite abilities ever even though it got nerfed this gen. It can hold pretty much any item like a band, scarf, focus sash, some boots, or even something else. The suicide lead mixed set is impossible to scout, the banded set can 2 hit KO a lot of its natural checks thanks to crits, and the scarf set outspeeds almost the entire boosted meta game. I love you meowmeow

When Meowscarada looked at the trainer and had a look like he thought he wasn't as good as the expectations I got a lil sad for him, but seeing the trainer still enjoying his company brought a little faith to humanity back

At least it has a theme and floragato looks like a badass rogue with meowscarada looking like a roguish mage its so cool yet people hate it cuz it stands!!! I'd rather have a bipedal mon with a lot of thought put into rather than "OoH qUaDrApeD tIgEr".

@@millenlaflore Nidorina was and still is my favorite original pokemon. I know it could evolve into Nidoqueen but i didn’t know how at the time and i didn’t care to because i loved it just the way it was. Took it with me to win the elite 4. My little poison biter lol
wholesome ending. Meowscarada grew on me quick and is my new favourite pokemon. Kind of helped me to love the franchise again after a decade of being sceptical.
He was my son as a Sprigatito. He was my son as a Floragato. He is my taller son as a Meowscarada. My baby still sleeps with his paws tucked in, and the shy pose he does after being washed is _so_ cute. I don't care if he stands or not, I love him. 😌

Apparently most of Meowscarada fans hate the design because "is a completely furry", but in 1gen we have Machoke, a full scalie bara, and if it doesn't trade into Machamp, you still get to Machoke

I don't care what anyone says, Meowscarada is my favourite of the 3 starters. On my first playthrough I picked Quaxly because the duck with hair grew on me big time leading up to Christmas (that's when I got it). Halfway through my playthrough, after Quaxwell evolved, I thought "Wow, he's pretty cool. I wonder what sprigatito's evo looks like." So I googled it and fell in love (platonically for all of *those* people out there) immediately. The silly bipedal clown cat has a very special place in my heart, and that is not a sentence I thought I'd say.
I was a little down when I found out the cat was gonna stand up, but honestly at this point, he’s my strange tall bipedal son, and I absolutely adore him. The design has grown on me fs.
Why there is a problem with Pokémon going bipedal? I mean some of the coolest Pokémon are bipedal and the same goes for the majority of cool looking legendary (or they fly without foot like giratina or Rayquaza). I don't care if a Pokémon have 1or 2 or 4 or 62637393 legs. If it looks cool/cute/elegant ecc enough is okay
Hasn't there always been more bipedal starters than quadrupedal starters anyway ? Also I will always maintain that Samurott would have been much cooler if he stood on two legs, also makes zero sense considering Oshawott and Dewott are bipedal. People always make fun of some Pokémon that just look like some animals like Herdier, Ducklett or recently Flamigo but they shit on original designs. I personally just love when starters enbody a theme and they do something original even if it's not everyone's cup of tea
I love the fire grass concept, but I'm also glad that you still enjoy Meowscarada. I think it's pretty cool despite how most people are against bipedal starters.
most people aren't against bipedal starters, they're against quadrupedal starters going bipedal and looking overly human + not monster like (since gen 6, we have had 10 starters on 2 legs for whatever reason)
I dont think bipedal is the correct word for it, as most starter pokemon are bipedal. I think its when the pokemon starts off as a cat/bear/lion and ends up as an anthropomorphic humanoid that wears clothes. Obviously there are pokemon that are also humanoid like Mr Mime, the Ralts family, or the Machop family. But they are represented as humanoid throughout their evolution cycle. I personally just think its weird to have a baby animal turn into a human creature. And there's obviously a fine line there, as I think a pokemon Greninja works perfectly and is animal-esque enough to still recognize despite being more human-like. But weed cat looks like a straight up cosplayer.
From the three stages my favorite is Floragato. It had a lot of personality in it's animations. I'm loving meowscarada Now we need a water/dark cat to round up the trio. 🤣
Your concept for a final evolution is amazing. The design is something that is reminiscent of Samurott if he was a grass type cat. The rough skin for fire starting is so unique you wouldn't expect it from a grass type. The ball of fire move was also a very cat thing to do

I kind of love the idea that there's a whole slew of Pokémon that would be super cute and endearing to have as companions during their early stages, but as soon as they level up and evolve everyone is just going to assume that you're a pervert.
Yes I have a Gardevoir on my team in every gen possible and yes I make sure it's female for the exact reason you think. If I get a male Ralts in the process that just means I get to have a Gallade too.

When I first saw the full evolutions of the starters I was definitely unsure about them. And then came Meowscarada. At first I was uncertain. Then I took it out of its ball to see how he looked just chilling next to my character. Little butterball zoomed off, ran back up behind my character, and then fell asleep on my feet. After that, and after seeing him use Flower Trick, I have to say I absolutely adore Meowscarada. Best flashy cat.

I also wanted Sprigatito to stay quadrupedal, but Meowscarada is still my favorite if the three starters. (Also, about the yo-yo disappearing, apparently its floating flower is just the yo-yo with the string hidden by an illusion created by its cape.)
I still like meowscarda a lot but this is EXACTLY how i felt for the litten line. Litten and toracat built it up so well for the final evo to be most disgusting thing ive ever had to look at
I think of Sprigatito's evolution path as like a small basil plant you can buy. It starts off as a small plant in a pot, but if you plant it, care for it & give it enough room & nutrients to grow it can become a massive plant that can supply your cooking needs for weeks.
I think of it more like a human child. It starts off on all fours crawling on the ground happy about it's existence, then it starts to walking upright and look at the world with eyes full of wonder and zeal, then end's up depressed after witnessing the horrors the world has to offer, like R34.

I think her masquerade vibe really makes it up. She has a very cute face not looking like a simple cat on 2. Her tail is unique, and she overall feels original and natural.

@@madeyoulookretard6205 some people don't mind bipedal pokemon. For me, for example, Incineroar is the coolest fire final-evolution and I also love dark-type pokemon so both it and Meowscarada are insta likes for me.
I feel like this encapsulates my, and a lot of others', reaction to these evolutions perfectly. Something like: "You're not what I had hoped you'd be, but you know... that's okay. You're still pretty great as you are." I was so genuinely hoping the whole line would stay on all fours, for _once,_ but I still genuinely love Floragato and Meowscarada; I really like the designs overall.
They did an excellent job, kinda like greninja it has that body that just works with its design and isn't awkward like inteleon (still love the water lizrd tho)
I love the message of this video. We can‘t change who people are or what they‘re capable of accomplishing. But we can take them as they are and make the most of any situation, true love (be it for a friend or for a partner) doesn‘t care for looks :)
The message is wholesome but real life can be a lot darker and sometimes people change in ways that defy your moral standards. What if your best friend becomes a drug addict? Or a criminal? Are you willing to 'take them as they are'? Can you still stay as friends?
I named mine Joker Noire after the codenames of the Persona 5 Protagonist and Haru Okumura. My Roserades in Sword and Arceus were named HaruOkumura too.

I love the imagined quadraped design of the final evo especially if it were somehow grass/fire. The flint legs with the tail blasting a fireball was awesome. Would love to see a design like this in the future in games even if not a starter.

Same here! BUT if you have Pokemon Violet, Fuecoco is kind of useless because you can evolve Charcadet into Ceruledge, which is honestly a more powerful Fire/Ghost type. Just maybe not as beefy. Quaxly's final evolution dancing animation though I don't like so imma stick with sprigatito. I love all the starters though!

The main problem is that it looks NOTHING like a grass type, you can literally paint her blue and all of the sudden she is a water type. A single flower pattern collar doesn't cut it thats just plain lazy.
To be honest, I was actually hoping for a bipedal evolution to begin with, perhaps something along the lines of Puss in Boots (which I’m now sure you could easily get with a cosplaying Meowth or Purloin) but what we got is the Masquerade Magician Cat: Meowscarada. Now that is awesome! And I really like it. Sprigatito’s whole evolution line has actually become one of my new favourites among all the starters. It almost has the qualities of both Joker and Morgana from Persona 5 rolled into one. I’d say that this video also makes a nice part 2 and conclusion to this video: “ruclips.net/video/TX0a3ftYFC8/видео.html” and that it mirrors the fan expectations of this Pokemon pretty well, as if to say “That’s not quite what I was hoping for, but I still love what my partner has become anyway”. I wonder if we’ll get any more Pokemon that people hope don’t stand up but if they do, then they still amaze everyone. Also, does anyone else feel like Sprigatito seems more like the kind of cat that is just really innocent, playful and friendly? That’s part of why I love it so much.
This video is the definition of “You can’t love someone for who you hope they turn into. You gotta love them for who they are” and as far as disappointment for final starter evos goes, that’s a pretty wholesome concept.
This is the first in at least 2 generations where I adore all the starters' final stages. I cannot betray my son Quaquaval, but Meowscarada and Skeldirge are super cool too.
I think Quaquaval is actually neat, just a bit... Unusual, and not in a weird way, its main thing its how much it moves like a dancer, and not many people are used to that
This honestly says a lot about relationships as well. No partner is perfect. Eventually, with time, you’ll find flaws. What matters is you push through those and love each other.
Honestly I never got the hatred for humanoid starters in the first place. I mean sure having a monster that feels like a monster would be cool but some of our bipedal bois have been goated with the sauce in the past

Some reason. I kind of just think that the designs aren't super inspired, but it must likely differs from person to person.
I can see where some of the hate comes from, but I don't mind the bipedal starters. In fact, my favourite Pokémon is Cinderace for being a good combination of a wholesome personality and an epic battler. Meowscarada is a very neat Pokémon design in my opinion anyways.
Sprigatito evolving into Meowscarada reminds me of how team's rocket's meowth stands on two legs to and this makes me think both pokemon are so wholesome
Quag is the worst final starter form of all time imo. Truly ugly af. I would put skelirege way above the cat tbh. Meowscarada could be worse, but the 4 legged one in this vid looks way better.
most consistent is charmander, cause he's a lizard, then a bigger lizard, then a dragon (way bigger lizard), although it is simple, he's incredible, my favorite is froakie tho
I felt the same with the water pokemon, I really expected it to be some sort of sea captain but turned out to be a dancer of some sort. But like the others has said you come to love them a lot with care and friendship.
I expected a grass/fighting techico (babyface, like how non-shiny Hawlucha is a techico and in the anime, shiny Hawlucha is a rudo (heel)) counterpart to Incineroar, a fire/ghost ghost pepper Boitatá with a calavera motif (I was half-right there lol, skelerigde is fire/ghost and has a calavera motif) and water/dark conquistador.
I mean, the duck was a jojo reference from the start with hair that fabulous like josuke. Idk how noone saw the turbogay dance chicken coming. I too wish it was a sea captain or something, but skeledirge is pretty badass to make up for it
Everyone talks about the fact that Sorigatitio went from a Quradraped to a Biped, but NO ONE talks about the fact that Fuecoco went from a Biped to a Quradraped.
she's still the best designed of the starters. we got a Pompador Duck turned Brazillian Peacock Dancer, a Derpy Dino turned Flame Singing Croc, and ofc Weed Cat turned Horny Fueling Actor
I like Meowscarada because they’re like the same height as my character, so it kind of just feels like I went find some random dude and costumed them up. They then gained magical powers.
Funny thing is: I bred a shiny, and the shiny turned out Tiny! The top of the mask is as tall as my character xD Sadly it's not small enough to get the small mark but I love my lil cat boi :3
Everyone says "don't stand on two legs" and that they hate bipedal designs but no one complains about Charizard, Blastoise, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Septile, Greninja etc, all of which stand on two legs. I think what they all mean is don't make it super humanoid.

Meowscarada gave up the rights to have 4 legs so that Skeledirge could be the first final-form fire starter to do so.

I don't care what anyone says, Meowscarada is my favourite of the 3 starters. On my first playthrough I picked Quaxly because the duck with hair grew on me big time leading up to Christmas (that's when I got it). Halfway through my playthrough, after Quaxwell evolved, I thought "Wow, he's pretty cool. I wonder what sprigatito's evo looks like." So I googled it and fell in love (platonically for all of *those* people out there) immediately. The silly bipedal clown cat has a very special place in my heart, and that is not a sentence I thought I'd say.

Also I will always maintain that Samurott would have been much cooler if he stood on two legs, also makes zero sense considering Oshawott and Dewott are bipedal. People always make fun of some Pokémon that just look like some animals like Herdier, Ducklett or recently Flamigo but they shit on original designs.

most people aren't against bipedal starters, they're against quadrupedal starters going bipedal and looking overly human + not monster like (since gen 6, we have had 10 starters on 2 legs for whatever reason)
I dont think bipedal is the correct word for it, as most starter pokemon are bipedal. I think its when the pokemon starts off as a cat/bear/lion and ends up as an anthropomorphic humanoid that wears clothes.
Obviously there are pokemon that are also humanoid like Mr Mime, the Ralts family, or the Machop family. But they are represented as humanoid throughout their evolution cycle. I personally just think its weird to have a baby animal turn into a human creature.
And there's obviously a fine line there, as I think a pokemon Greninja works perfectly and is animal-esque enough to still recognize despite being more human-like. But weed cat looks like a straight up cosplayer.

Your concept for a final evolution is amazing. The design is something that is reminiscent of Samurott if he was a grass type cat. The rough skin for fire starting is so unique you wouldn't expect it from a grass type. The ball of fire move was also a very cat thing to do

When I first saw the full evolutions of the starters I was definitely unsure about them. And then came Meowscarada. At first I was uncertain. Then I took it out of its ball to see how he looked just chilling next to my character. Little butterball zoomed off, ran back up behind my character, and then fell asleep on my feet. After that, and after seeing him use Flower Trick, I have to say I absolutely adore Meowscarada. Best flashy cat.
That was for me too even the animation for Magical Leaf and other special moves was awesome. Also it can know chilling water

I think of Sprigatito's evolution path as like a small basil plant you can buy. It starts off as a small plant in a pot, but if you plant it, care for it & give it enough room & nutrients to grow it can become a massive plant that can supply your cooking needs for weeks.
That's why when I chose Sprigatito I named him Basil!
I think of it more like a human child. It starts off on all fours crawling on the ground happy about it's existence, then it starts to walking upright and look at the world with eyes full of wonder and zeal, then end's up depressed after witnessing the horrors the world has to offer, like R34.

This is the equivalent to a dad who had expectations for their kid when they grow up and when it never happened, they still love how they ended up.
Despite having a LOT of weaknesses, Meowscarada is still one of my favorite pokémons.
I feel like this encapsulates my, and a lot of others', reaction to these evolutions perfectly. Something like: "You're not what I had hoped you'd be, but you know... that's okay. You're still pretty great as you are." I was so genuinely hoping the whole line would stay on all fours, for _once,_ but I still genuinely love Floragato and Meowscarada; I really like the designs overall.
They did an excellent job, kinda like greninja it has that body that just works with its design and isn't awkward like inteleon (still love the water lizrd tho)

I love the imagined quadraped design of the final evo especially if it were somehow grass/fire. The flint legs with the tail blasting a fireball was awesome. Would love to see a design like this in the future in games even if not a starter.

To be honest, I was actually hoping for a bipedal evolution to begin with, perhaps something along the lines of Puss in Boots (which I’m now sure you could easily get with a cosplaying Meowth or Purloin) but what we got is the Masquerade Magician Cat: Meowscarada. Now that is awesome! And I really like it. Sprigatito’s whole evolution line has actually become one of my new favourites among all the starters. It almost has the qualities of both Joker and Morgana from Persona 5 rolled into one.
I’d say that this video also makes a nice part 2 and conclusion to this video: “ruclips.net/video/TX0a3ftYFC8/видео.html” and that it mirrors the fan expectations of this Pokemon pretty well, as if to say “That’s not quite what I was hoping for, but I still love what my partner has become anyway”.
I wonder if we’ll get any more Pokemon that people hope don’t stand up but if they do, then they still amaze everyone.
Also, does anyone else feel like Sprigatito seems more like the kind of cat that is just really innocent, playful and friendly? That’s part of why I love it so much.
This video is the definition of “You can’t love someone for who you hope they turn into. You gotta love them for who they are” and as far as disappointment for final starter evos goes, that’s a pretty wholesome concept.
This is the first in at least 2 generations where I adore all the starters' final stages. I cannot betray my son Quaquaval, but Meowscarada and Skeldirge are super cool too.
I think Quaquaval is actually neat, just a bit... Unusual, and not in a weird way, its main thing its how much it moves like a dancer, and not many people are used to that

I think that they've actually done a good job with meowscarada, especially considering the other... "Humanoid" starters.
Honestly I never got the hatred for humanoid starters in the first place. I mean sure having a monster that feels like a monster would be cool but some of our bipedal bois have been goated with the sauce in the past
@@beywheelzhater8930 a lot of them are good, I think that it's just the most recent ones (e.g. scorbunny, inteleon, whatever the final evolution for quaxly is called) have sparked the hatred for... Some reason. I kind of just think that the designs aren't super inspired, but it must likely differs from person to person.
I actually never really saw Inteleon as super humanoid until people started pointing it out constantly. Thought it was a pretty cool lizard design
I can see where some of the hate comes from, but I don't mind the bipedal starters. In fact, my favourite Pokémon is Cinderace for being a good combination of a wholesome personality and an epic battler. Meowscarada is a very neat Pokémon design in my opinion anyways.

Sprigatito evolving into Meowscarada reminds me of how team's rocket's meowth stands on two legs to and this makes me think both pokemon are so wholesome
He's honestly my favorite design of all the starters. Feels the most consistent too throughout the whole line

I felt the same with the water pokemon, I really expected it to be some sort of sea captain but turned out to be a dancer of some sort. But like the others has said you come to love them a lot with care and friendship.
Its based on the carnival on Canary Islans, I find it really neat.
I expected a grass/fighting techico (babyface, like how non-shiny Hawlucha is a techico and in the anime, shiny Hawlucha is a rudo (heel)) counterpart to Incineroar, a fire/ghost ghost pepper Boitatá with a calavera motif (I was half-right there lol, skelerigde is fire/ghost and has a calavera motif) and water/dark conquistador.

I adore Meowscarada. It's like if Morgana from Persona 5 got built like Meicrackmon, and I think it works wonders.

she's still the best designed of the starters. we got a Pompador Duck turned Brazillian Peacock Dancer, a Derpy Dino turned Flame Singing Croc, and ofc Weed Cat turned Horny Fueling Actor
I like Meowscarada because they’re like the same height as my character, so it kind of just feels like I went find some random dude and costumed them up.
They then gained magical powers.
Funny thing is: I bred a shiny, and the shiny turned out Tiny! The top of the mask is as tall as my character xD

Everyone says "don't stand on two legs" and that they hate bipedal designs but no one complains about Charizard, Blastoise, Typhlosion, Feraligatr, Septile, Greninja etc, all of which stand on two legs. I think what they all mean is don't make it super humanoid.

On the other hand, he's the ugliest fire starter by far.

I chose weed cat, and avoided spoilers about the evolutions. The weed cat standing on two legs doesn't look as weird and human as some of the others. I actually like the design
