No one can replicate Chris Poland's parts. lol He's the GOAT of Megadeth; Everyone who's been hired since Poland has spoken out about how hard it was to even learn his stuff. So, if none of them can play his parts correctly live...which they cannot, and his parts are the most difficult to play, doesn't that make Chris Poland by default the best guitarist Megadeth ever had? I do believe it does.
Chris Poland is soooo underrated! Especially now in his new direction of music! I truly am inspired by not only his playing but his beauty of his choice of notes and singing vibrato!

When I was 15 same friends and I saw Clash o the Titans in Springfield Illinois. My friend John Lash was a super big Megadeth fan. He died a few month later of a asthma attack. 😪
I've always thought it was a precious memory that he got to see his FAVORITE BAND before he passed. He said when he turned 18 he was gonna get a Vic Rattlehead tattoo. Gone too young.

Broderick actually left after Megadeth's tour with Iron Maiden got cancelled due to Bruce Dickenson getting throat cancer. The band's manager called and told them they weren't going to be financially compensated for the cancelled tour, so him and Shawn Drover simply quit.

My top 3 its without a doubt Poland, Jeff Young and Marty. Even though Jeff just recorded one album, I love his tone and how the solo are dirty. Marty is a god and nothing to say about Poland and how great he is, btw Chris recorded the demos for RIP.

I don't know Dave, but I have seen lots of musicians talk about how hard he is to get along with, much less to work with.
His problem is he is a perfectionist. That makes you an asshole. Look at Yngwie. But I think Kiko has been good for him plus old age. Kiko seems to make Dave have fun. Just watch Kiki’s backstage stuff. Watching Dave chase a giant moth around trying to catch it is GOLD!
He tried to get dimebag to come play for him but dime wouldn’t unless vinny could come but thankfully this not happen we got the animal known a pantera fuck yeaaaa
TRUTH
Marty and Chris B. were the best guitarists. Megadeth had their most heavy sounds with these guys, even though Friedman was when the music was getting softer, it was still powerful.
At least they were the guys who seemed to part as friends and not get fired. Haven't heard their most recent work yet so I have no opinion about Kiko.

@@nikaxeguitar That's not to say the rest weren't great guitarists, they were. I just think their individual sounds put Megadeth at its best when combined with Dave.
Amazing (in a bad way) to see that almost no one seems to be familiar with Broderick. The guy was capable of going note for note with Jeff Loomis who is also a virtuosic beast & at the age of 16 demonstrated his skills to Dave Mustaine since if I’m not mistaken he was trying to take a stab at becoming a replacement guitarist for Megadeth & he definitely was given Mustaine’s praise for his talents at such a young age, but it was his age that took him out from possible consideration. But yeah being someone who comfortably can hang with/perform at the same level of Loomis & practically has made 8-finger tapping/sweep-tapping his b*tch, he seems to be slept on way more than people would think at his level.

There’s a RUclips video with live music from The New Yorkers, the jazz-rock fusion band that Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson were part of - amazing musicianship, and you can hear some of what they brought to Megadeth in it.

Over signing shitty hair bands killed it more than anything. It seems it they figure more is better. It just waters it down. Look how many pop singers there are and I can’t tell you any of their names or their shitty songs

Excellent synopsis of the Guitarists in Megadeth. Now ya need to cover the Drummers, such as Gar Samuelson, Chuck Behler, and Nick Menza, plus any other Drummers that played with "Dangerous Dave". He seems like he's always had a "Revolving Door" policy, as it concerns all of his former bandmates.

Dave Mustaine was fired from Metallica which was a huge mistake from Metallica because the guitarist that they hired in place of Dave Mustaine would have been enough to make the average person think about getting Dave Mustaine back. Thank God he was fired because Megadeth is the best metal band in the world. It was a Godsend for metal. They have always had far more talent than any other metal band. Not only Dave Mustaine writing abilities are amazing but his style of shredding is beyond what anybody else could have ever came up with

LOL You clearly don't know much about guitar playing, because Kirk Hammett is technically much better than Dave (and also a far more soulful and melodic player) - he took the basic framework for Dave's solos on the Kill 'Em All songs and made them more concise, articulate and melodic. And then on the next few albums his solos were far beyond Mustaine level. Why you think that Dave always has a lead guitarist who is more technically proficient than he is such as Chris Poland, Jeff Young, Marty Friedman, Al Pitrelli, Chris Broderick, and Kiko Loureiro in the band? Because he realizes that his lead guitar skills are limited. On the other hand, Kirk Hammett is the only lead guitarist in Metallica (not counting the few slow melodic leads done by James Hetfield) and his solos are epic.
@@dowens3781 if you listen to the demos with Dave on them and then look up the older shows, Kirk came so close to ripping off Mustaine note for note, it's pretty pathetic on Kirk's part. As far as talent on song writing, lyrics, solos, and creativity, almost 50% of Metallica's music is cover tunes. Look into it. That's facts. Metallica is literally the worlds biggest cover band! Seriously. I'm not making this up. Look at Metallica's back catalog and it is nearly 50% cover tunes. Megadeth has around only 5% cover tunes at best, throughout the bands existence. That alone shows who's more talented. Dave wrote his own path, while Metallica rode on hits of other bands and material that Dave wrote ta boot! BTW It may not sound like it, but I like Metallica and that's how I know about the % of cover songs Metallica has released. Sad but true...Pun FULLY Intended.

LOL There are no cover songs on Master Of Puppets and it's the greatest metal album of all time. Also, Kirk had like two or three weeks to learn the songs on Kill 'Em All before they began recording - you expected him to write his own solos in that short of a time period? But he still took the basic framework of Mustaine's solos and made them much better, and then his solos on the next three albums destroyed anything Dave ever did.
