I seriously have to thank whoever set up the audio recording in these videos. The exhaust note and supercharger whine is crystal clear through my headphones and the bass is rich as if I was actually driving. I hope someone at the head of the channel sees this, because keep up the good work.
WikHellfire - PlaystationShare Yup, with manual you have flexibility no automatic will ever be able to provide. Besides, automatic will never know what corner is coming up, and paddles are not really that great. Also, if your car breaks, you can tow manual for as long as you want. If your starter breaks, you can start your car by pushing. If your clutch fork breaks (you can't disengage engine from transmission) and you are in emergency situation and must keep going, you can switch gears without the clutch (warning, do this only if you know what's actually happening inside of your car and why and when you can do this, one false move and gears will grind and your gearbox will spit out its teeth). Manual is cheaper to service (burned clutches frictional pads? You can easily replace 'em on cheap), and car costs cheaper (now when demand for manuals is lower it's not always the case, but with Hellcat you save about $3,000 when you buy a manual). In winter time, especially if you're stuck, manual is a killer. Also, with manual, if you're running out of gas in emergency situation, when you are going downhill, you can just pop neutral and turn the engine off. So manual is more practical, more durable, cheaper to service, and makes you feel in control. Now in city environment, with all the stop signs, traffic lights, traffic jams automatic rulez, but if you're an experienced driver, you'll have no issues switching gears manually, it's an annoyance only for new folks :)
I'm so glad the supercharger whine is audible. Mopar knows what the true car guys want! On my GTP, GM did everything they could to silence the blower and it's just not acceptable.
evenflow919 I bought one the day after I brought the car home. I'm just pleased that this Hellcat doesn't require any money to be spent on aftermarket parts to sound amazing.
Blowers are sexy sounding and they pull really hard really low. Nothing beats a blown car. I know turbos are more powerful and more efficient and the lag problem is mostly going away, but I still find s/c more controllable and more linear.

Damn what a Muscle ! But seriously guys, this car, those wonderful roads and you make a video of a 707hp Hellcat following a van or an 18-wheeler @ 35mph, some 120mph fly-by would be a lot better. I liked the 1st person perspective simple get-in-and-drive-it video. Thank you. What were the last 2+ minutes of the video for though? At the point you came up behind the minivan and slow moving traffic, you could have cut it off right there. I watched to the end figuring you must have made it 6:30 instead of 4 minute because something amazing happened at the end. Nope. :(
From what I can see the car is 6 spd. manual. The ride didn't look punishing that would be very stiff that you feel every bump on the road. any supercharged or turbocharged car that you have to say, wait...is this boosted?? after a full throttle pull is a waste of excitement!
Jeff Zahnd You can hear the turbo spool up on ford's ecoboost engines.
The problem is not every one want the damn supercharger to nearly drown the sound out. Myself included.
