I was hoping someone would compare these two. Thanks for this video. I’m not much of a fan of the lining Cambridge uses for their edge-lined bibles. My goatskin Clarion is constantly trying to fall out of my hand because the covers are so limp. I prefer the paste-down. If only they had used paste-down for the Diadem calfskin like they did with their other calfskin bibles! I might have to get that brown one.
Thank you for the video! I am planning to get one, was thinking of the split calfskin mainly because is £100 cheaper, so price factor but now when I see the comparison I think I like the split even more and the brown colour looks nice, might get it instead of black.. thank you 😊
This comparison is really useful. Love how the calf split looks. I am going to get one! But just curious, would it be also considered a premium Bible not being edged line (and not being calfskin)? The difference of price is considerable!
It is a premium bible. My calfsplit actually started having the paste down liner peeling off in the first two days of use… not sure if this was a random thing but I had to return it
@@nateginsterblum Sorry about that. Will you replace it with another calf split or will you get the calfskin again? I'll receive mine (calf split) on Monday. I did some research and found out that people in general are very pleased with Cambridge calf split paste down bindings.
Hi Nate, thanks for this review! I just received the black calf split version of the ESV Diadem that you’ve reviewed here, and I see that the yapp/overhang of the cover is more on the sides of the Bible compared to the top and bottom. Is that the way it is on your brown calf split as well? Thanks in advance for your reply!
Hello, thank you for the review. Are you able to fold the Bible all the way back like a newspaper? Does the spine allow you to do that just like the Allan Bibles?
Hey quick question. Im 25 and my hair colour is similar to yours but my mustache doesnt connect to my beard yet. I started growing hair on my cheecks at 23 so i might be a late bloomer. Did you see a big sudden improvement at any age or did you have a full beard since your teens? Thanks
Hey man! I wasn’t able to really grow my beard until about 2 years ago. I did see a lot of improvement as I got older. I think you will make progress even in the next couple years.
Cambridge calf split bindings are excellent, and they soften nicely with use. Yet, the Bible still feels firm when held open with one hand.

I have a hardcover Diadem and it's really nice, probably the perfect size honestly.
Thank you for the video!

The calfsplit is much thinner. It's due to the art guilding

I think so yes. Don't sleep on Cambridge's calf split binding. Frankly it's my favorite and I own a few goatskin Cambridges.

Are the quality and gsm of the pages the same in both bibles? Or the pages on the calf split edition seem inferior in quality? Thanks for the video.
It seemed like the paper on the calfskin was bit nicer, I can’t entirely remember

Hey there, I do not think they can fold over like that. It’s possible that calfskin can but I don’t think so
@@nateginsterblumthanks! I received my calfsplit just days ago and im so happy i can indeed fold it ♥️
good vids, can you do a vids on your beard now (beard update) ?
I will try and make one!
Imagine having enough money to purchase TWO of these Bibles 😭
Shouldn’t be a hard thing unless you are poverty stricken.
