Gotta love these borderline psychadelic, public safety information films . The goos ol' days when they weren't afraid to scare the freakin' bejsysus out of kids in the pursuit of keeping your kids safe.
These days you don't need to worry about this stuff coz kids are more interested in console games and adiction to your mobile phone. Tut

I remember watching these public service announcements growing up, and I remember that the message got through to me about stranger danger. I didn't think they were creepy growing up but they seem a bit dark now. Loved Charlie - but yes, a bit of a know it all. Devoid of accent - old school Queens English, from London or somewhere south.

Never found these at all scary as a kid in the 1970s, in fact i use to love these, my favorite public info films "not found on here" was the kid who put a tin of dogs food in the oven and tried to cook it..
One that spings to mind was the house all burnt out and the creepy sounds of children screaming, that one was disturbing.
Anyway im off to find joe and Petunia, what a pair of halfwits there were...

The little boy who voices Charley’s friend was actually not a professional actor and was actually the son of the creator’s next door neighbor, which is why his readings are a little bit flat. He was only 7 at the time that he started voicing the character.
