I've actually never seen The Walking Dead. I know and love Andrew from Brit drama/comedy Teachers from many years ago. Looked for an interview of Andrew about TWD, with the hopes that he hasn't lost his British accent. Relieved even though I think his accent has been sliiiiiigthly americanised. Scrolled down hoping to see some comments about his accent, wondering whether some people didn't know he's English.
Pretty much all comments turn out to be about people finding out for the first time he's English. :p

I agree. I personally think that Andrew Lincoln was the right actor to play this part. I have read many comments about how some people felt like he wasn't right for the part, and maybe in the beginning of the series that might have been true, but as the show continues on and we see all the horrible things that this little group of survivors have had to endure , Andrew Lincoln aka Rick has proven himself to be the only actor that could play the part and play it exceptionally well.

What's so cool is how the Rick Grimes character has changed throughout the series run, and that's because Andy Lincoln is such an adept actor and he puts everything he has into the role of Rick. He's always been the baddest dude of them all and remember, never screw with Carl or the wrath of Rick will get your ass!

I will say that Season 5-Rick Grimes is my favorite Rick to the day. It's now season 7 on the air and I'm still waiting to get this Rick back.
His style (!!!), the way he talked, acted, did and handled things in S5 I absoultly adored most. Season 7-Rick is in comparison more soft spot to me than in S5/S6.

question for actual southerners watching this: is his accent on the show convincing? I mean he's obviously a great actor and it's convincing to me but ive never been to or known anyone from the south so i dont really have an ear for the accent hes trying to recreate so could he and/or lauren cohen convince you their from georgia with their performances?
Sometimes he's a little dramatic about his pronunciations, but I'd say overall it's really convincing. I didn't even know he was English until a few days back
