- In this video I try a new set up for a tarp canopy if you don't have a roof rack. I was quite surprised at how well these worked. I am curious to see the outcome in heavy winds and rain.
This is a very simple and affordable canopy set up.
I hope this was helpful for your next adventure. !!

This is the best idea and the best set up out of all the videos I watched .
Thank you, much appreciated!!
thanks for adding to my massive 10k in gear I got for my family trip. I just got 4 figure 9s, 4 suction cups, tarp and tarp poles. I already had some tarps for my 9 person tent footprint and for above the tent but having a covering behind my vehicle will be handy since that is where I am storing food, solar setup and electric cooler.
VERY cool!!!
Absolute cracking good unique idea mate you really think outside the box with some excellent tarp setups well done you have hit this one out of the ball park.👍👍👍 I use your tarp setups on my vehicle, and they do the job just as well as an expensive fold out wing awning. Keep up the cracking good work, Wade from Australia.
Cheers Wade, simplicity and affordability is the goal. Thanks for the positive comments !!
Magnet hooks for the win!
This is awesome. Where did you buy the gear? Best setup for tie down I’ve seen.
Thanks for the video. Can we get a parts list added to the description with links to amazon?
Mounting the suction cups on the side windows will be stronger than on the vehicles metal body.
I also found it works better on the windows! 👍
But will it damage the window seals over time?
PS how about bug nets on the sides ?
Not many trees in southern AZ...do have a video using poles instead of trees?
Have suction cups been tested thru heavy wind and rain?
Thanks!
Hi, sorry for the delay, I've has some issues with my notifications. Yes I did a video with the same set up using poles for that exact reason.
Do you have any concerns about the suction cup straps scratching the window? Wind creating a flap-away situation?
Not really, all the components are plastic, I thought the same at first but I’m not concerned, good question!
Hi! what are the tensioners you have attached to the tarp that connect to the suction cup clips? you never mention those. Brilliant setup!
Those are Figure Nine by Nite IZE
@@adventurechristv613 ohhhhhh i get it now. The rope on those just looked thicker than the paracord going to the trees. Thanks!!!
What's the name of the "quick clips"? I cant find it on amazon or google tia
They are figure 9 by Nite IZE
What's the size of this tarp?
i like your videos but why dont you ever list the products
I will do that I the next video, thanks for watching!
What size tarp did you use?
I believe this one was 8x10, I have used a bigger one that works well also
What suction cups/brand are you using?
I ordered them on Amazon, not sure the brand name.
I tried the suction caps, but they kept popping off periodically. For me it’s been a fail. Good idea but.
Hello. A couple of questions. 1-were you attaching to a smooth surface, 2-was the surface wet, 3-did you press the cup against the surface before flipping the tab. I understand that there can only be so much force put on them. I used them in my most recent camping video and they held up all night. Hope this helps.
I tie off to the rim. No way it comes off or loose.
Saw an oriental fellow use big suction cups while putting canopy on his pick up truck, now this one and I'm sold on the idea !
Oriental 😂😂😂
String goes on a yoyo, or around your finger as a reminder, you are using cordage.
I was going to say the same.
