This is great, excellent!!!Going to use the same procedure on my boat, it uses a hydraulic type transmission. One thing I would add is using a hose clamp on that one side that leaks so you don't have to worry about it leaking or coming apart.
Love this video! I love videos that just show the entire job, from start to finish. Much more helpful than some of the over-produces ones out there that are all talking. Thanks. Subscribed.
Hey how can I flush the transmission with it out of vehicle? I've got my ford's ranger transmission it has had a little bit water in it so I wanna flush transmission lmk thanks
I just watch your video i have few questions i hope you can help me i bought a used transmission i have to replace torque converter seal? I know filter and gasket and flush the cooling lines
So, ATF is one of the best cleaners and detergents available. I use it yo clean engine bores before building them. Just save the money, pump ATF through it, then acetone to clean the ATF.
Would you recommend this if you are just doing a filter and fluid change on your transmission. When I was changing My ATF and filter on my dodge journey it was pretty dark and so I decided to clean the cooler by just blowing air and flushing the fluid out. It was even darker and almost I see small silver shaving.
I have never done it as part of a normal fluid and filter change, but it certainly doesn't hurt! Hopefully you're just seeing some normal wear. I wouldn't worry until you start experiencing issues.
Hi I have Nissan pulsar with similar issue like I have to clean this this and replace new transmission cooler that’s what my mechanic told me and quoted me around 4000 you think that’s we can do it byself
Watch videos on how to do it and then judge for yourself whether you have the tools, skills, and time needed to do it yourself. If you think you can manage it, sounds like it'll save you considerable money.
Sounds like to me for that price your mechanic is wanting to rebuild / replace your transmission. Idk what state you live in but that's outrageous price for this type of job, in this video. I would look into a different mechanic if I were you. Just like I said only if he's telling you if the transmission is shot
I think you blow the air after the adding the cooler too to get it dry and then bleed the radiator by running the engine until all the air bubbles are out. Squeeze the hoses while car is running.
I would only bother flushing if you are replacing the cvt, control valve, or torque converter. The point of flushing is to remove metal debris from the failure of one of those parts.
@@gibson7654 I can't say it won't make any difference, but a regular transmission fluid change ought to be good enough. Remember, even if you change the fluid and flush the cooler, the torque converter is filled with old fluid that will still cycle through your system.
@@namjanamja747 I'd just try to get an air seal by squeezing it off somehow. I also believe you can hold the can of trans flush upside down to just spray air out of it, but I haven't tried that.
That’s real shit. Been working on cars for almost 20 years now and feel some weird shit going on with my body and im almost certain its from brake fluid and brakkleen
With the radiator cap off or else your hoses may blow even if you have a pressure valve it may not let enough air in time. My truck hoses were had too much psi. So I had to bleed it manually. If you have a bmw it’s a must to bleed the lines. By turn key to on position holding gas peddle 30 seconds to let the computer know your wanting the fans to kick on and water pump to pump coolant until you see a steady stream of coolant. The engine should not be running just turn the key to get the heat on blast. I just like to put the info out there for DIY. Bleeding any closed system when you detach a hose air pockets get into the system. And with bmw it’s pressured system. You also must use the correct coolant on any euro car. Or else it’ll go into limp mode. This is for any card that have transmission fluid cooling internally into the radiator. Only
Layman's term video on how to conduct a transmission flush. Awesome step by step instructional video!
Thank you. Glad to hear it!

Good idea

Appreciate you!
Looks like quite the procedure... great job!
never thought of that, could be done by air compressor to knock all ATF residue, thanks for sharing
Really cool and enjoyed watching, wonderful and thumbs up
Thank you for making this video~ You have good teaching skills
I appreciate your kind words. I'm doing my best 😁
Great tips! You're very handy!

So tjis also cleans the cooler at the same time . Looks like it would help to have a extra pair of hands . So call a friend . 😊
Yes, the fluid circulates through the cooler.
How much psi was your air compressor set to?

@@FarmDad Thanks for the video. I'm getting ready to do this on my 05 Expedition
Great video

Great Job, and Cute Kids, Thank you.

Buen vídeo gracias 👍
Denada 👍
Your cooler actually goes into your radiator its a separate closed system in the radiator
Not Always..
Not mine
Well yea I'm saying for this guys cooler and it's definitely a hassle if it breaks inside the radiator
This cleans the whole loop regardless.
helpful thanks
I just bought a JX35 with 213k miles. Should I flush the cvt cooler to prolong the life of the cvt?
I would only bother flushing if you are replacing the cvt, control valve, or torque converter. The point of flushing is to remove metal debris from the failure of one of those parts.
@@FarmDad so it wouldn't make any difference even though these cvts are prone to failure?

@@FarmDad I see. I drained and filled once. The fluid is still murky. I'm going to repeat one or two more times after I get some more ns-3.

Haha, my mama says I been that way my whole life.

I don't have an air compressor so what should I do?
You can buy cans of compressed air.

can I fill the transmission from the cooler line?
I always fill from dipstick or filler tube.
@@FarmDad I dont have either. its a sealed transmission.
In that case, yea you should be able to fill using the return line on the cooler. Or you could fill from the pan if it has both a drain and fill port.

You really do need to use rubber gloves you don't know what kind of chemicals may get into your bloodstream
Lmao

Say what? This is about flushing out the trans cooler and lines.
Radiator cap nothing to do with this it's two separate systems
Soupy is on a tangent.
