    isnt it better to jack up the car from the passenger side so all the oil drains out? it seems like when you jacked it up from drivers side it was on the wrong side of plug, not allowing the all the oil to drain out?

    I brought one of my cars to have the oil changed by a shop. The next time I did the oil change. The shop put my oil filter so tight. I could not get it off using my hands. It was horrible tight. It does not require that to be so tight. Just hand tight.

    Most of the videos on RUclips put 8 quarts of oil and the internet recommends 8 quarts and the Service Manual recommends 8 quarts and you put 7 quarts I am confused what is the correct amount that the LS3 engine takes with the ACDelco PF48E oil filter

      No, you are correct. 8 quarts is the correct amount. I have a lot of cars and got mixed up. LS3 5th Gen Camaro takes 8 quarts of oil. Sorry for the confusion.

    Thanks for the video. Since you jacked it up on the drivers side it’s on an angle. It won’t drain all the way right?

    Is that a safe replace to jack man? I saw a diagram warning against it.

    how do you get rid of all oil when the car is tilted?
    you need an proper lift for this

  • @danrez42
    @danrez42 10 месяцев назад +1

    You need to put oil in the filter before reinstalling it

      Ehh, no need. The oil pump will fill that filter in 2 seconds. Then just top off the oil.

    Ik im kinda late but i just followed everything in this video changing my oil for the first time on my 5gen ss(L99) and my first time changing my oil by my self in general. Pretty much did it exactly like you did here and im seeing people in the comments now saying not to jack it up on the driver side and to do 8 quarts instead of 7. I only bought 7 quarts today and the dip stick seemed at the right level but I was wondering if I should still go get an 8th quart tomorrow and add it? and I was also wondering if I got a good/full oil drain since I jacked it on the driver side like you did?

      If the dip stick shows the correct oil level, then you are good to go. Don’t worry about all the keyboard warriors. Most of them don’t even own a Camaro.
