      Did the Hollywood bars pull back closer to you? I'm 5'9" and I feel like the stock apes have me a bit more stretched out than I'd like, even tilted back some... otherwise I love my Street Bob, picked up a 2020 model in October...

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan
      @MrDarcy-OlMan  6 лет назад +1

      AdrianVino The clutch is buttery smooth on the street bob also! The street bob has so much more torque so going up hills or overtaking is effortless without changing down gears. The bike is much more manoeuvrable and handles like a dream! Best value for money Harley there is no doubt. These exhausts sound great and add sufficient rumble to the Harley Sound when heard next to the standard Street Bob muffler set-up. I also like how they reveal a little bit more of the rear wheel adding some a vintage twinge to the styling

  • @arturobarrios8327

    Yeah! It's a really nice bike. I've got mine with the V&H Slip-ons. Fuel economy is still good. I use it for city rides, and I also think that the city is its best area. I'm short (5'6") and with that height I find the combination of the seat, pegs and handlebar a bit uncomfortable after 7 miles. I ordered the Sundowner and turned the handlebar a little bit backwards. In the city the size of the tank isn't an issue, but maybe it would bother a bit on longer journeys.
    Short people might find it manoeuvrable and fun :)

    • @BicepsAndBikinis

      Arturo Barrios Do you know what MPG you get with the slipons?

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan

  • @davidmargetts821
    @davidmargetts821 4 года назад +2

    The styling takes me back to the early 80's when there were a lot of hard tailed chops around. I can imagine this bike with a buddy pad and a 4ft high sissy bar.
    I too am at the age where I think this bike could be fatiguing for me due to the narrow tank I'd have to clasp with my knees to prevent the wind forcing them apart. Also the high bars might wrench my arms off. Straight low bars on risers might help, but I'm told changing bars can be awkward because the instrument panel might not connect up. I understand what you mean when you say that the bike isn't planted in a straight line and needs to be wrestled to keep it stable. Perhaps Harley should increase the rake to improve stability.

    I watched this vid for the sound clip. Seeing as the M8 motor is designed to run quieter, when you put a set of Short Shots on are they "stupid loud" like they are on a Twin Cam. Have overnight test ridden this bike, but in stock form.

    • @BicepsAndBikinis
      @BicepsAndBikinis 6 лет назад +2

      MrDarcy & the Ol'Man
      I'm looking at a Sport Glide, on which for me the stock pipes aren't all that appealing. I wanted something a little lighter and shorter with a 2 into 2 look that unlock a bit more sound without being overly obnoxious. As both bikes run the 107, this clip was helpful. I'll have a look to see if Bassanis are available to suit yet. Hi from Aus.

    The Street BOB to me is just a larger Sportster. I think for your size forward foot controls would have been a better option. But other wise a great bike. Does it toss water and mud to the electronics like the fat bob does on the rear wheel? My guess is yes because it looks like there is a gap between bottom of rear fender and the lower skirt below the fender.

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan
      @MrDarcy-OlMan  5 лет назад

      Actually; thinking about it, the Street Bob doesn't come with rear pegs because its a solo seater, but you can get them fitted and there are holes pre-drilled on the bike to simply bolt them on.

      Thx for answering... didn't know this is a solo bike ;)
      I just was wondering about the missing pegs, cause there r sum exhaust pipes that seems like, the rear pegs have to dismount permanently on other M8-Bikes like the fxlr e.g., cause i didn't see a rear-peg-holder on the new exhaust-mount as u see at the v&h short shots.

    Did putting Vance Hinds Short Shots on, void your warranty?

    • @MrDarcy-OlMan
      @MrDarcy-OlMan  5 лет назад

      No not at all! Harley-Davidson are very open to customisation so it doesn’t void the warranty. In fact this is a demo bike and these pipes were fitted by the dealer!

      @@WhiteWi I'm 6 6 and it fits me just fine. Forward controls and an extended reach seat makes a world of a difference. No doubt that with that kind of height it needs those customizations. From stock it is cramped. But that is the great thing about harleys. They can be adjusted to everyone's liking.
