I just finished the book and i loved it !!! I definitely agree with your opinion and you deserve so much more followers because your review is truly amazing ! Good job :)
Had to decide between Boyfrien Material and Autoboyography (I'm not the type of reading two books at once), thinking some review could help me, but your channel's got me even more indecisive haha such great reviews!
Oooh, interesting choice! What did you end up choosing first? I think they're both good, maybe Autoboyography has a *slight* edge in my personal opinion... Just for more tension and emotion. Boyfriend Material had more humor.
@@LaurasLibraryCard Ended up with Boyfriend Material and omg you were so right it made me crying with laughter so many times! It also deals with delicate topics but overall I agree that it's more on the humor side. I kinda needed something jolly, I had just finished They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera and it was SO. GODDAMN. EMOTIONAL. I don't think I could bare with another visceral narrative
@@gabs4122 I'm so happy you enjoyed Boyfriend Material!! 🥰 I definitely tend to jump from one end of the emotional spectrum to the other. If a book is heavy and made me cry, usually I like that but also I then go the other direction for balance. I haven't read any other books by Hall, but would like to! What's your next read going to be? 💚
@@LaurasLibraryCard Oh I see, I get it! Balance is def a good thing. I liked Hall's narrative, so I might give another of his pieces a try as well~ My next is a third-ish timer: Openly Straight, such a underrated book by Bill Konigsberg. I never get tired of it, def one onf my favs lgbts babies out there. But so you don't think I *only* read lgbts book, I read just a few days ago Paper Towns (frankly, between you and me, not the best John Green book), and I just finished The Hauting Party, Lucy Foley's debut thriller (so, so, so perspicacius, the way she managed to swich every character's point of view and narrative, the plot twists!!) 💛
@@gabs4122 hmmm, The Hunting Party premise sounds a bit like an Agatha Christie set up, where all the characters have come to a location where they can't leave and tension is rising and who among us is the one?? Sounds good, glad you liked it! Openly Straight sounds really good from the blurb, plus it has high ratings too--I've added it to my TBR. I read Paper Towns years and years ago, and was underwhelmed, if I remember correctly... Do most people think it's his best? 💚
I started reading this book last week and I'm so in love with the main characters. It's kind of confusing sometimes because here in Brazil is not available in portuguese and I couldn't wait to read it in english so. For the record, I loved your channel and the way you talk about the books!! Probably I'm going to finish Boyfriend Material this next week but at the same time the story is so cute and I don't want to finish hahaha.
Thank you so much for your kind words! I loved the main character in Boyfriend Material, and remember laughing a lot while I read the book. TOTALLY know what you mean about wanting to read a book quickly to know what happens and devour it, but also not want it to end! I actually just got a new book by this author out from my library and plan to dive in soon 😁
Oliver was a total dream boat to me. It got to the point where he’d say something minor, such as the Uber thing, and I was like “Of course that’s how he feels” and just gush more over him. Loved the character development and honestly I found Luc’s friends to be the second best (Ms. O’Donnell will always be number 1 in my heart) comic relief/side characters in the novel. Loved your review and I’m proud to be subscriber #129!! Can’t wait to watch some more!
I loved hunky grumpy Oliver and hot mess Luc, and how they both learned to be vulnerable to each other/acknowledged their issues. I felt like the frank moments between them where they were working on the relationship just showed how tender they were! And who doesn't want that?? Dream boat for sure! Welcome to my channel!! 😊🥰
Hi , Thank you for the review!! I was so confused to buy this or not because the cover is so pretty and the blurb looks so promising but its not available in m country (India), so I have to get it internationally!! I am finally going to buy it. haha, yay!!
I'm glad you liked my review! I hope you enjoy this book--I found it quite funny and endearing. Come back and let me know your thoughts after you've read it! 😊💚
Thanks! I'm from Ohio--didn't realize 'tabloid' was going to be a buzz word that would point to where I'm from! I love language/accent stuff, and finding those words that jump out to me as indications of where they're from.
I loved Oliver’s character though, and agree this book was funny! That was about it for me though, this book was very meh for me. I didn’t see the point of them “fake dating” tbh... Also I have personal gripe with a vegetarian eating bacon because I would never do that so that made me so upset 😂
@@merreads !! what a bummer you didn't like Luc! I thought he was a bumbling idiot who needed some love. Yeah, that scene was weird--I thought there could have been a better way to comfort Oliver than with food/bacon.

aww, thank you for your kind words! Glad you found a book you loved, that's one of the best feelings ever! Have you read other Alexis Hall books?

Aww thanks Savannah!! You're getting pretty close too! 💚
Great review! I listened to the audio book and loved it so much.
Thanks! That's nice to know--I can see myself re-reading this in the future, so I'm happy to hear that the audio performance is good!
@@LaurasLibraryCard The narrator from Audible was just superb for this book, he really brought life and emotion to the characters.
@@darren1233211 Do you like audiobooks? I frequently listen to them while at work. I loved Red, White, and Royal Blue on audio too--very emotional.

Laura's Library Card yes! Such an important part of our regional identity!! Thanks for answering my question!!
Ooooooh. I had this on my radar already, but now it’s moved up on my priorities list a bit!
I giggled my way through it, I hope you do too!
Awe dungeon s and dragons with the fam that's cute
I'm in a couple campaigns right now--you play? =)
Uhm... that was the least awkward photo from your youth....I should know...
I just picked something random where I was making a face!
