Liam Dale yes, but it will cost them to redesign the board for the ipad since there is no Ipad that use A11 yet. And no way Apple will spend a lot just to make cheap products like this.

They just have a lot of unsold A10 chips (this time the one on 7 Plus) to clear out on a cheap iPad model.
I got one for my wife for Christmas, and she loved hers so much, and I was impressed with it I picked one up for myself this morning.
There is just something that makes me love the classic iPad, no matter what. It is priced reasonably and though it is not the same speed as an iPad Pro, people will still enjoy it very much.
Especially given that it has pencil and smart keyboard support.

I wanted to buy an Ipad 6th gen and in my country the stores are selling the last models. Even the 7th gen is cheaper, so I guess I have to go for a that then. Interesting that we can still buy Iphones from 2015.

The black front panel makes the depth of the screen kind of unnoticeable.
Having been switched from an Air 2 to iPad 5 at work, the difference is massive in person. The display feels less rigid to touch, brightness and sharpness are compromised, the whole thing is 20% thicker. Worth picking up Air 3 or Pro 10.5 instead.
I have to disagree. It’s very noticeable when the screen is covered in fingerprints or dust, especially when illuminated by a light source.

I got this Ipad for Christmas along with the Apple Pencil :) Mainly got this device to do digital art using the Procreate app. Me being someone who has never owned an Apple device, this iPad has been amazing so far,. Screen size is perfect and far better than a previous cheap tablet I owned, the display is bright and bold, the multitasking feature really helps to gather references when drawing. The screens air gap is not even noticeable when drawing unless you view from a side angle - so this feature doesn't cause many problems
Overall, I'm really happy with the Ipad and its features, however, there are some small negatives
- The charging time is slow and something to remember in advance if you're ever going to take the iPad out on trips
- The screen loves to collect fingerprints and oils so it has to be cleaned often

My iPad Mini 2 is still going strong over 6 years later. I really only use it for Netflix, RUclips, Hulu, etc. It still works perfectly and has great battery life.
Just got mine to replace my iPad 2 lol so the 7th Gen is way better to me and a lot faster. I can’t honestly complain as I received it as a gift from my wife. I use my for online school work and social media and so far it’s great . Awesome review by the way.

Everyone’s Pro my mom has a iPad 3. I used to have a iPad 2 but I cracked it so, I have an iPad mini 4. For Black Friday I might get the iPad 7. Is it worth it since it has an A10 chip and the mini 4 has an A9 chip?
I think it would have been helpful for you to run Geekbench on this unit versus last year's, and the new Air, to give people an idea of relative performance.

Yay, just got mine: a 128 GB for $279 (gold) which is beautiful. Like a light copper. It's replacing a cracked, but working iPad 4. IPad OS looks very nice. More RAM is appreciated! This is lightning fast.
Thanks for the walkthrough! I bought the 6th generation last year and the experience so far has been sublime! Considering price-to-performance statistics, this line of devices are the best that I've ever used. Apple's focus on the iPad was very prominent in last year's iOS improvements; I suspected that a separate OS for iPads might be on the horizon. Well here it is! And these devices are even better with this new iPadOS! I hope that the long software support will be the same as before. Now, I can confidently recommend this product to anyone!

I don’t think I’ll be that pressed to upgrade to this model. I still have the 9.7 iPad Pro from 2016 that’s been slightly forgotten about, but even tho it’s an older iPad with the A9, it still holds up really well today.

I've had mine for a couple of weeks, and I really like it. I also bought the Logitech Slim Folio keyboard. My wife is a teacher, and has used it for a couple of Zoom meetings. We have a Mini 2 that is nice, but no comparison. Thanks for the review.

Vinh Khương you also get the smart connector to use the keyboard. They had to change the body to get the smart connector, that’s basically what they did, a body swap.
And that’s exactly what I did about two weeks ago, no regrets

The Original iPad Pro 12.9 is still the greatest for more then four years, mainly because it’s one of the most powerful, has size, and still a home button.
I have the exact same ipad and I’m learning all it’s functions so this video has helped👍

Yea, with just 3x the price or more.
I'd recommend the iPad air 3 over this model, for about $170 more you get a laminated screen, and double the storage.
And a much faster tablet. But this is a great deal for beginners and those who can't or don't want to invest in a more expensive model.

I’ve had mine for a while and I only use it for notes and scanning docs as PDFs. I use it in conjunction with my MacBook and have had no issues with it! Since I’m not replacing my Mac, I didn’t feel the need to buy the iPad Pro and I don’t regret that decision at all. The only thing that can get annoying is the non laminated display, but I barely notice it.

Well you normally hold the iPad a bit more far away from your eye because the screen it bigger.
But this doesn't change that most people on the internet are just stupid. They're complaining about the spec sheet while not even get the specs right.
iPhone is held much closer to the eye, so pixel density needs to be higher to maintain the same level of sharpness. iPhone 11 only has an LCD display at a frankly unacceptable resolution to force users to pay more for the 'Pro' models, much cheaper devices ship with 1080p OLED panels.
@lasest2 The reason the XR and 11 only have 828p screens is because the average consumer (which those phones are marketed towards) really do not care about 1080p and it would not make a difference to their usage.

The iPhone 11 has 828p, not 720p. And it has been proven that 326ppi is perfectly fine and sharp enough for a "retina" display. Everything above is just waste of battery and performance. The iPhone Pros only have a higher PPI because they're using OLED which has a lower subpixel count and missed 1/3 subpixels.
And you know what also is a "old junky" tech, so it should not be in phones? Cameras. And speakers.
I bet that 99% of them could not tell them apart in a blind test.

It should’ve at least got an a12 chip. If the iPad mini 5 (only $70 more) got it then the issue can’t be price.

There has never been any link between hardware spec and pricing from Apple :D
The A12 would have increased the price and make it much more confusing due to the iPad Air (3) being more than 50% more expensive and also having the A12.
Don't forget the iPad Mini is a much smaller device.

You might as well get a 2017 IPad Pro 10.5 inch Bc with that you get a promotion display (120 hertz) 4 speakers a LAMINATED SCREEN and a better processor and it’s better than the air the only thing the air has a slight edge in is the processor with the a12 oh and also you can get it for between 350-400 dollars
So in my opinion the air and that quote on quote “new iPad” is a rip-off

Have the new iPad in my paws right now. I’ve used an iPad for years. I’m retired with no need for a Pro anymore. The new iPad is more capable than the refurbished Air I traded in - it was a model too old for the new operating system. This new iPad with a fixed income friendly price tag (I did get 128GB) and a small trade in ($60) I have a device that should last me until it can’t be updated anymore.
