The role of a prop on a rugby team

15 players make the starting line up go a rugby 15’s team. They all play various positions and each has a specific role to play for the team in battle. One of those positions is the prop. There are two on the team, the left prop and right prop. Due to the intensity of their key role of pushing against the opposition forwards, props usually develop very thick neck muscles.
