Bear viewing guides let themselves and those in their groups get close to bears, but they also know and realize what Timothy never did or he knew and didn't care -let the bears come to you and let them know when they are too close and must stop or move away.
Treadwell seems to understand that bears can be dangerous and will eat humans and can be more aggressive right before they go into hibernation since they are looking to eat as much as possible to put on fat for the winter yet knowing this he sets up his campsite in the middle of the trails where the bears travel and during the time of the season when the bears are more aggressive and looking to eat a lot. Not really. This was not an issue of a human rightfully asserting authority and the animal respecting them and backing down which Timothy first describes. @@denisenoe1534 No they do not. There have been tons of experiments with precisely that with always the exact same result. What a dog can do, is read your emotions from your face because dogs themselves partially express emotions or moods from their eyes/facial expression. That is an additional trait gained through 100's of years of domesticated breeding. However, they do NOT pick up on a word. Simply the way you say it. There is no meaning behind because no matter how much you feel this is untrue, it still is false. Dogs lack higher functions just like ANY OTHER animal out there. Don't believe me? Feel free to do like Timothy Treadwell did and go live with a bunch of wild dogs when they are starving. Treat your animal friends and see what happens. Alternatively, you can keep living in a world where your opinion and your degree from the university of google mean something more than science and people who actually have scientific degrees. 1:16 Pay attention to the language of Timothy, he says he wants to introduce you to the key roleplayers in this expedition. The bear is not playing a role, the bear is a wild animal. It was this delusional line of thinking that got him killed.

Totally wrong view. You can see how different he was to the attitude of bear viewing guides that are reputable-They do not view themselves and the owner of the lands or animals they visit. They let bears get close instead of doing as Timothy did, rudely going to them. All the time before…..he put the very animals he claimed to love at risk. Predators with the potential to become maneaters should not get used to people. They should avoid people and be weary of them. The rangers and the naitive tribes loathed this guy for very good reasons. And likely after dealing with this guy for a while they were more worried about the fallout than him personally. Cause a bear was going to be the one paying for this guys lack of respect, awareness and knowledge. And bears did.

The first 15 sentences are the most chilling of all. True definition of irony and simply prophetic in the sense of stupidity because he simply knew it was a matter of time. I think he was so deeply disturbed internally that he was legitimately awaiting the day it would happen. Delusional enough to think people would view it as somehow noble rather than idiotic. Which is the reason I sympathize with his horrible ending. Also exceptionally tragic because his partner trusted his bear knowledge and experience and very quickly turned out to be a choice that left them both in the most terrifying position imaginable. One of the saddest stories in general I’ve heard by far after hearing the audio. I didn’t know what true horror was until I heard it and imagined the hopelessness that ensued. @@DonnierDarko223 I agree
Saying “I love you” to a bear doesn’t work.. It’s not a domesticated dog.
Lots of dogs don't give a crap about your feelings either.
Technically it doesnt work on a dog either. They only pick up on intonations. You could tell a dog that you are gonna murder it in a soft spoken, friendly manner and it would still come up and cuddle.
@@DonnierDarko223 But they DO pick up on your mood. They also know a certain amount of words although that's very limited. A wild animal doesn't pick up on human mood.

They kind of did, it was the bear that he wasn’t familiar with that killed him. He went back to the grizzly maze way later in the summer then he usually stayed and a bear that didn’t know him killed him.
may the poor man and his poor wife rest in peace, what a horrible death they had
he survived because bears were familiar with him, he was killed by an unfamiliar bear, when they’re most aggressive, and stopped taking precautions
That and he was killed by and old bear without teeth who was struggling, in a season with fewer berries than usual, right before winter set in.
The Grinch was the bear who apparently killed him
@@re8618the grinch was a female bear, it was an older 28 year old male bear he named oly, bear 141 that had broken canines, light fur, and low fat that killed him
Did he really think he had a fighting chance to go toe to toe, barehanded against a born killing machine?
Yes and get this, most of the comment section think all of the personality traits that got him killed are GOOD. natural selection.
Bears aren't killing machines, they're just animals. He thought if they got too close for comfort he could scare them away, and that usually does work. The problem was that this particular bear was extremely desperate and unusually aggressive, and Timothy had no backup plan.
@@isaacbruner65bears are killing machines, their genetically designed to kill animals when needed
@@isaacbruner65"the 25th bear," yeah. All it takes is one.
Treadwell to bears: Join me for lunch?
Bears to Treadwell: You ARE lunch
Passive aggressive weirdo
“The kind warrior must become a samurai”. The difference between him and a samurai is that a samurai is never caught without his sword.
Correct!
if timothy still alive, he would be great youtuber for sure
Very charismatic guy.
Respect for the Man he had Passion.
Never mind the guy was an idiot
Not to speak ill of the dead, but he should have shown more passion for his life and the life of his girlfriend. May they both Rest In Peace.
The fact that he was well aware what could happen to him......
iam amazed he lasted 13 yrs. he was nuts.
He seems like an awesome person to me
@@KDanes he was crazy thinking he could pal around with a load of bears.
@@KDanes he is interesting, but it was reckless getting close to the bears, and it cost him and his girlfriend there lives.
@@leedummett4412 He proved you can befriend a Bear ... multiple people have proved it
With all respect for this man and his family, this is a clear exsample and,one of many others, where men have lost their life for being too close to dangerous wild animals.I love nature and wild animals, but we are humans and smart enough to know our limits.
I remember seeing this wacko on TV back in the late 90s and early
2000s and telling my wife at the time that this dude is going to get eaten and we will hear about it on TV and sure enough in 2003 that is what happened. This guy was a couple sandwiches shy of a picnic to say the least!
🤣🤣🤣
Lol...I remember saying the same thing about Steve Irwin while watching his his show for the first time. He was in the Pennsylvania mountains looking for diamondback rattlesnakes and at one point he was squatting directly over one - a BIG one and it was rattling and all he was wearing was those goofy safari clothes. I knew right then and there he was going to get himself killed doing that show.
Stop making things up....that didn't happen
@@killerjoe5628 no you didn't
You can tell he loves animals
It’s sad what happened to him and his girlfriend 🙏🏻
While Timothy Treadwell was not an evil man and meant well, his belief that he could live with these grizzly bears in peace love and harmony eventually got him and his girlfriend devoured. With that said, I think that Timothy was fine film maker. At this point, only God can judge both him and his girlfriend.
