I don't know how and where I watched this as a kid, but I absolutely loved these Lego sets but never got one. I always dreamed of having one! Glad I found this video, brings so much nostalgia to me :)
I loved this line, but now that I think about it, the Power Miners were the bad guys. They were stealing the Rock Monsters' food source and there's no real proof that the rock monsters are morally evil, they were just trying to protect their food/energy supply, so in my opinion, their attack is justified. And yes, I've been thinking way too hard about this.
Lore behind Power Miners was that they were investigating earthquakes that were destroying the surface and ran into the rock monsters, who were unintentionally responsible. So I'd rather say their incursion is justified.
I remember watching a movie about lego miners going into a cave to get ORANGE crystals, and they came across an orange crystal monster baby, and they grabbed it, thinking it was a normal large crystal, and then the mother of the baby came, fought, negotiated, and left...then the miner people went to a lab, something else, then apparently wound up in Medieval Times
