I think the unown spawns are a real waste if they’re going to be full odds, would much rather get more of the rare regionals in their place. Also something super cool they could add would be free in person 1 star raids, basically the same as a research or egg check it would be a fun addition.
I just shiny checked the unowns, and only bothered to catch six or so of each of them. Not worth the balls.
You know, this how they delay stuff, so they could come with new gen for next update for every pokémon game.

In comparison, I've seen 350 unown, and most if not all could have been shiny. Between johto tour, go fest 2022 August, hoenn tour, and now, these odds are abysmal, but AT LEAST I HAVE MY TENTH AND ELEVENTH SANDSHREW THAT MAKES IT WORTH IT
I got tired of seeing Pokémon that couldn’t be shiny. I caught like 5 of the regionals then passed whenever another one popped up. Wish I saw more unown
These two days were the best in my Pokemon GO career. I played for the whole 8 hours on both days with my best friend! I got 28 shinies on day one, and 20 on day two. I got so much XP and dust. Some of the best moments were when I caught three shiny heracross in five minutes, my friend getting a hundo Ray from the first raid and me getting a shiny 93% goomy on the final hour of the event. The unown shiny rates weren't nice though :(
I agree!! I played the full 8 hours for both days as well and I caught 46 myself, 3 being Shiny Rayquazas, and in the last 30 minutes of day two I caught about 8 shiny's alone, one being the shiny Heracross that I desperately needed. I didn't catch a single shiny unown either though. :(
Everyone seems to have much better luck than me, I got 4 on day 1 and 9 on day 2 and I played the full 8 hours both days with a ticket. My RNG sucks on every game it’s annoying
I would rather have unlimited in person raid passes. If they want us to play together, that would be amazing, during GOFEST only of course.

This was by far the best Global Go Fest. 17 shinies and most of the new ones but it was also great to be able to raid with global friends again. Loved the habitats and research on the first day but the raids and shiny rates on the 2nd were brilliant.
Best 2 days of Pokemon Go for me by far. Met hardcore raiders from my country. Hoping to go to an in-person Go Fest next year.
Got like 10-12 today, and I'm fine with it. I got what I wanted for this event: Diancie and Mega Rayquaza

One thing I did like about the first biome with all the pink pokemon was that it was very easy to grind up stardust with audino, morellul and foongus. But yeah, the last biome really had the best spawns.
Total of 91 shinies here in Yonkers, 44 on day 1, and 47 on day 2. One of my most successful go fests tbh and met a few people otw.
I’ve never experienced a GO Fest before now, this was my first one!! It was super fun, definitely looking forward to next year!!
Honestly, I think the event is pretty good, I got 12 shinys on the Saturday and 1 so far on the Sunday. None of the new shinys though

I caught about 500 Pokémon and shiny checked some more with the ticket and only ended up with 4 shinies. Maybe day two will be better 😅
Started playing in January, so no GoFest experience until now. But 68 shinies over the weekend, and wasn’t able to play the first three hours on Sunday. So, I’d say overall it was a big success for me. I enjoyed it and hope to go in person next year

Great video Daxi. This was my first Go Fest as well as my girlfriends and we loved it. Grinded at the Chandler Mall in AZ. Tons of people there, raid lobbies filled up quick and made raids enjoyable, Caught 40 shinies in a day and a half. Great experience. 10/10 will do again next year.
GO Fest here fell on a weekend with a terrible heatwave (36-37°C) but I still enjoyed the rotating habitats on day one. Raiding for me was a disaster though. I don't have a local community to play with so I tried getting remote raiders to join, but all my discords were flooded with people wanting to host raids but not joining. This is completely understandable given how expensive remote raid passes are now but it was still such a bummer. Couldn't complete a single Mega Rayquaza raid because of this, only got a Kyogre and some Goomys in I think.
I played pretty hard on day 1, and got 47 shinies. On day 2 focussed more on raids and got 23. Great event, I had so much fun, Niantic smashed it.

I didn't go very hard this year because I had family activities that conflicted, but I still got a decent amount of shinies, especially shiny Shellos, which is so cute. I'm also really happy to have the chance to catch Pachirisu, and of COURSE, Mega Rayquaza!

I would have loved to see a SINGLE sparkle this past weekend. Over 500 mon checks, 11 Ray ray raids, nothing. I did NOT pay for the event, but "boosted shiny odds" for paying users should NOT mean no shiny mons for everyone else...... Congrats on all your shiny mons. They look great!
I’m going to be completely honest… you were better off not buying anyways. 14 hours, countless miles walked, and only 5 shinies to show for it. Definitely not worth it and was a huge waste of my time honestly
I think the massive boosted catch rates for Snorlax and the Primals/Mega Rayquaza really helped the raid activity during the day. I managed to get enough XL candy to max a Rayquaza for a mega
I played the event without a ticket (since I'm 100% a F2P player) and it's way different compared to ticket holders. For example, shiny rate increase... non existent. I only managed to get like 2 shiny's, one of which was a shiny Kyogre after day 1 ended, and at 1st I didn't want to do it, but did it anyway and got one that I might mirror trade until a hundo maybe, but I won't complain about that since I knew it wasn't going to give us a shiny boost. Besides that I managed to pull a hundo Shellos from research, as well a slap in the face with a 98% Carbink.
Now on day 2 I think I had the worst luck with making raid lobbies EVER. I've completed 5 raids, 3 of which were from remote raids and 2 in person, but I had 3 extra raids I wanted to do, in which NOBODY JOINED. Like they would either wait a lot just for nobody to join, or they would join, BUT THEY JOINED IN THE LAST MINUTE, which was really annoying and I barely managed to get enough energy for Rayquaza. The 3rd remote raid I did was actually a last call luck, since I just had enough for another remote pass and got enough energy from that to get 400 required. By far one of the most annoying thing to experience.
The worst go fest feature was whatever year had the people at stops and you had to battle them for research and they were everywhere and took away time from just spinning stops lmao.
This year was great! 101 shinies over the full weekend. 💪🏻💪🏻

This was my first GoFest and for the most part I loved it . Caught some cool shiny yesterday and got 19 Rayquaza today . None shiny but still had a blast. I live in South Carolina and it was awesome just seeing so many ppl having fun together . Had some as young as 14 and other in their 40's and 50's like me . Definitely need more of this in my life
This is my first year back playing pokemon go I attended the in person event in NY and played all hours of both. my global go fest was so much more better than the in person. I walked away with 78 shinies this weekend and only 47 from NY. personally i cannot complain about either because it was a great regardless. I started playin in january this year and these events have progressed my living shiny dex dramatically!! I hope everyone else was able to get at least one shiny pokemon they really wanted!
Here I am, not getting a single shiny spawn apart from 2 in the raids 🙃 It was still a really good event!
I got an average of 1/100 shiny odds, while people in my group were getting like 1/25 odds or better, and it took me 40 Rayquaza raids to get a single shiny while some people got back to back shinies. Niantic just curses some players accounts and blesses others i swear.
I hardly played at all and I didn’t buy a ticket because last year‘s go fest was so bad and I wasted money on it so I thought what’s the point in doing the same thing this year. I guess I should’ve played this year but a little bit of consistency from the game would be nice.

You know, Pokemama could have jumped into the raid with you, let you hit ready, then jumped out and your counter would immediately move to 10sec. Then she goes back to the shiny hunt!

I played both days start to finish. Most people over here in NYC barely got shinys. Some got lucky, but overall it was really strange.
I Battle in 22 mega rayquaza raids and got no shiny.
For F2P this go fest was terrible. Only few shiny, no special research for diance at least they give us unlimited remote raid passes. Money, money, money…
Got 23 shinies total including a brand new shiny goomy 🥳 definitely one of the best events in a few years
I thought that this was a really solid Go Fest. I got 10 Shiny Pokemon on Day One and 12 for Day Two for a total of 22, which I'm really happy about. I was able to get two Shiny Heracross, which is one I was really hoping to get, and I got the Shiny Blue Crown Pikachu. I had surprisingly good luck with most of the new Shiny introduced during the event, which normally doesn't happen for me. I even got a pink Shellos with perfect stats from the Special Research and hatched a blue Shellos. I even got an extra extra small Shiny Goomy. I played most of both days at home since I wasn't able to get out until mid afternoon, but my Shiny luck was still surprisingly good.
I really enjoyed getting unlimited remote raids. It's hard to give Niantic too much credit for that when they basically gave back a feature that we had for years, especially when remote raids passes were still really expensive, but it was still satisfying to do a bunch of Mega Rayquaza raids. I got a Rayquaza with perfect stats from a Mega Raid, so that was amazing and a huge highlight of the event. While I'd want remove the limit on remote raids completely, or at least increase the limit, I do hope that they'll do something like again for future events at least. Unlimited remote raids for Raid Days would be nice, especially for the inevitable Mega Heracross Raid Day. I could see them doing something like this when they bring Arceus into the game since fans would definitely want to go all out for those raids, assuming that they'll put Arceus in raids.
I'm so glad that the incense boost when stationary was available, even if it was only for players with a ticket. I still think it's lousy to lock such a good feature behind a paywall, but it's better than removing it completely and I think it's basically a necessity for these huge weekend events. I wouldn't have been able to enjoy Go Fest nearly as much without it, so I hope that they'll keep this feature for future Go Fest and Tours. I was a bit mixed on the incense spawns. I love Hisuian Growlithe, but unless they were going to introduce its Shiny form, I really would have preferred for it to not be an incense spawn or in the 7km eggs for that matter. I like being able to get some regional Pokemon, but I kind of wish that they had their Shiny forms available too. I'm sure that they wanted to save Shiny Pachirisu and Carnivine for the Sinnoh Tour next year, but given that I mainly focus on collecting Shiny Pokemon and rely on incense for these events, having all of the incense spawns be potentially shiny would be nice.
I'm personally okay with using 7km eggs for these events. You are limited on how many gifts you can open, but you don't have to try to hatch non event eggs to make room for more event eggs. Aside from Hisuian Growlithe, I think that the choices were pretty good. They really should have reduced the egg distance though. Players would want to walk around more to hatch more eggs and Ninatic would get more money from all of the incubators.
Personally I think it was a pretty mediocre global go fest this year. I went so hard and got 9 shinys. 2021 was the best for me 42 shinys. I did 22 rayquazza raids today and got nothing. Rubbish!
I played both days for all 8 hours and caught 5 shinies total. 4 of those on the second day. My gf only got 3. We both had the ticket and played all day. We both felt the tickets were a waste of money.

Niantic is definitely moving towards “pay to play” style. We already saw that coming with the past events as Dax said the paid events only getting better and more stable while the global portions are like playing any other day.
This event was free to play and if you paid for the ticket you're only really getting Diancie. Imo it was a pretty good year for f2p with the exception of the 9 free raid passes, which I agree with you there.
@@yerodahero7912 I’m mainly just saying the free to play players have been experiencing a shift motivating them to buy coins for in game events. For example either fomo(Riolu) shiny boosted eggs or hope of shinies like this and many other events. I’ve just compared the shiny count at the end of the day with free to players as well as those I know who bought the ticket and the difference was plain to see

This years gofest was insane for me, 39 shinies day 1 and 43 day 2, so for me compared to past go fests this was a HUGE win, got so many new ones to my collection and the people I played with also got around 30 shinies both days, such a great gofest and I hope you all also had a great gofest

48 shinies day one. Perfect shiny cottonee, the full goomey line, and 11 pikachu with at least one shiny of each crown. Hope to have good luck day on day 2 as well in a few minutes.
59 more shinies on day 2. Got 2 shinies from eggs, Shellos blue and Joltik.
Day 1 ended with 42 shinies, and day 2 ended with 38 shines. I loved some of the special features that came with the global GOFest. I agree that the incense exclusives like pawniard in the wild leave the incense just with unown. This global GOFest was IMO the best one as of my experience.
I surprisingly got mega rayquaza as a f2p as for the first time in forever my community decided to do in person raids!
Im gonna say i got so disappointed played both days with Ticket that said increased shiny rates, all day did 35 raids or so caught all pokemons from insence and did not get a single shiny ! :( .... Sad
I've been playing since 2016 on and off, but had never been able to participate in any of the Go Fest for various reasons
This year was my first I'd been able to play, and it was *AMAZING* because of the preparation work I'd put into it ahead of it.
I bought the ticket just in time for both pre event bonuses
29+ shinies from the wild on the first day, taking breaks during habitats I wasn't interested in
Day 2 was an absolute grind for Rayquaza - 25 raids with one shiny, then it was off to hunt more wild spawns. No luck with shiny Heracross, but I got 3 shiny goomy: 1st egg hatch, a wild spawn, and a 98% shiny from a raid
Two shiny Oranguru, 2 shiny cowboy hat Snorlax, and a grand total of 71 shinies for both days
i got one shiny galarian zigzagoon 2 hours before gofest and two shiny pikachu with the crowns during the two days. pretty happy
I wish i had have driven to a nearby city to play rather than my small town there still wasn’t enough people around to do in person raids and i was having a hard time getting into hosted ones or getting people too join the ones i was hosting, so i didnt get any of the primals, at all, or enough candy to mega evolve rayqauza
This was the best Go fest I’ve played and I’ve played all the global ones. This was mainly because here is Scotland it’s rare to find people playing but this was by far the most people I’ve ever seen playing Pokemon Go in person which was amazing to see, the park was full of people and raid lobbies were constantly full. I heard lots of people, especially older people with their children saying that this is the first go fest they’ve played and that they started playing on the back half of last year which was amazing to hear. It made it feel like Pokemon Go is just now starting to get really big here. Oh, and I got 49 shinies 🥳
I accidentally made my rayquaza forget dragon ascent, and it was my only meteorite. Now I can’t mega evolve it again until I’m get another one to reteach it dragon ascent, does anyone know how I can get another meteorite?
I completely agree on the eggs! As far as shinies, I got 24 day 1 and 27 day 2. I was very happy with my haul, I usually only get around 15 each day.

Not my luck at all. Paid for the pass. Between the two days I didn’t even get 10 shinies total. Over 40 rayquazas caught and not one shiny.. anyone else have bad luck or just me? Extremely disappointed

I really loved GoFest Global this year and grinned really hard both days with approximately 4000 catches, 60km walked, 80 shinies ... overall had a blast.
I really was ok with the eggs being 7k but they should have had a higher shiny rate. I didn't see anyone hatching a shiny out of the 7ks and for that being limited to get and hard to hatch they should have increased the shiny rate from the 7k
btw like seeing you more outside playing. Enjoyed meeting you in London with the incensed guys and have subscribed long ago but will watch your vids definitely more frequently.

Go Fest this year compared to years past wasn't as interesting for me. It likely has a lot to do with the fact I've moved from a huge PoGo community to one that barely exists. I can never raid since remotes were hiked in price. I run 3 accounts by myself and my fiance has one, to make 4 total but he's lost interest so much in the game. We definitely can't complete many raid bosses yet, as I'm still boosting the extra accounts. I didn't buy a ticket this year, got 0 shinies. I wasn't grinding because I wasn't hyped about any of the spawns. 😏
The locked spawn pool was the biggest blunder this go fest
I had a ton of fun at my local park for GO Fest. I had heard that this particular park was the place to be in our area when it came to big POGO events, but I hadn't experienced it myself on this scale. Everything was lured up, the Primal raids always had enough people and the habitats always had at least a few things that were worth hunting for imo. I played for the whole 8 hours on day 1 and ended up with 16 shiny, though I cannot tell you how many I caught in total. The two others I met up with caught 14 and 22. We were all doing pretty good on shiny rates until the second half of the day. I was only able to play for about an hour and a half on day 2 unfortunately, but I did manage to catch a hundo Rayquaza on my second to last raid of the day and another 3 shiny. Sadly no shiny Ray though and because I had to leave early my Ray will prob be stuck at around level 42 for awhile, but I cannot complain too much since I got the hundo. (Also managed to get a hundo Kyogre on the Friday beforehand as well.)
I agree the eggs were underwhelming. I didn't mind the extra incense spawns in addition to Unown, but I was mainly looking for Carbinks out of my incense regardless. The Pokestop tasks refreshing every hour was also super nice since it meant there were always tasks to do.
I'm amazed by your shiny rates. I did not get a shiny at all in the first four hours and 7 in the final four hours. I caught and/or checked hundreds.
Was my first and will do again next year for sure! Only able to play about 3 hours over the two days total and still nabbed 21 new shinys including two Rays, and two Groudons, but got a Mega-Ray AND Mega-Diancie!

It was a great event overall for shiny hunters, for raiders, for free to play, for everybody the only 2 things that kinda just didn't add to the event were the eggs ( no hatch distance bonus ) and the day 1 incense ( mostly unknown and regionals that nobody needs 50 of )
This was the only time I didn’t purchase a ticket for GoFest. As soon as the event got closer, I was starting to get FOMO. But I stuck to my guns to experience the FREE ROUTE this year.
I played at a theme park & I got some awesome shinies I hadn’t collected (female shiny Heracross) and a total of 7 shinies on day 1. Couldn’t play much today due to being a mom of 3. But overall I was invited to a lot of Rayquaza raids & was able to unlimited remote raid to get my Mega Energy. Overall this year was fun. I think we all have a choice to enjoy the game how we want. And I loved seeing how the community reached out to me to send me raids from my home & I was able to do more than 5 raids.
Rates were wonderful on day 1! Ended with 60 shinies for the day. Excited for day 2! Really focusing on finding a joltik today
I found 43 on day one including 3 Goomy and all 4 crown Pikachus. . I’m pumped for day 2! My focus today will be Snorlax, Heracross, and Joltik, as those are the main ones I didn’t get yesterday.
Congrats to all the shiny, I got lucky as well. However, I am torn to shiny because I can NEVER get any good IV on shiny, just a bunch of crappy IV I do not know what to do with. So annoying.

This was my first go fest and after catching almost 1200 pokemon, I only got 9 shines. But in the hoenn tour, I got 22 shines out of 600 catch

I personally have to disagree on balancing out the mega groudon and kyogre raids since they increased the catch rate so high after beating it was almost guaranteed to be caught and with so many people playing 8/10 were beat with the high demand for players wanting to join them so it’s only difficult for rural areas but that can still be possible with Reddit mega threads, etc.
My friends and I walked together for almost 8 hours every day, I got almost 40 shines (in both days) and they got around 8 (most of them had the tickets)
I saw where people experienced poor shiny rates and I hate that. I was lucky enough to bag 33 yesterday. Hopefully today the luck keeps pouring in. Still aiming for a couple of shiny I don't have yet.

Easily the best event i've played in Pokemon Go (only started properly July last year). I got a horde of 68 shinies, with a nice mix of them all. Only complaints is that I continued my trend of getting a ton of costume pickachus (which I hate) with 9 this year. Also didn't like that the primal/mega raids seemed to have equal spawning with Carbink/snorlax raids.
The last time I saw Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza, it was 2019 and I was super into Pokemon Go. I got a shiny Kyogre from special research back then! (Remember when we got good rewards from research breakthroughs? :)
This event was honestly great for the amount of sunburn I got. I think I got around 23 different shinies, around 36 total shinies altogether. But the MAIN THING that I'm super, SUPER happy about, is that I finally got a shiny Groudon AND a shiny Rayquaza. Both are 96% IVs as well. Very, very happy about it. Was not expecting to get either from this event.
I caught my 50,000th Pokémon and got a 98% diancie! Ended day two with 39 shinies total and ended up playing around 10 hours total
Right now I'm feeling life isn't fair. I purchased the go fest global ticket, I completed all the tasks, I purchased remote raid passes, I really played the game & walked over 50km... yet I only caught 4 shinies on day 1 & 6 shinies on day 2. I mean really?? Niantic??? Like seriously???? I'm not expecting to catch hundreds of shinies ok. 10 shinies per day would have made me feel contented with go fest 2023. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Bro this was the worst I paid $15 grinded it out alll day and only caught 3 shiny’s horrible
5 hours 6 shinies...... most I heard of all day in my area was 12 . was alot of upset people yesterday. I got 1 more day

Watching this almost a year later with go fest again on the horizon has made me realize just how much...junk...gets thrown in the spawn pool. Caterpie, whismur, Bagon, Bellsprout, all pokemon that weren't too terribly interesting and then I look at whats coming this year and its stuff like pidgey, charmander, Hoppip, Wingull, Snivy. Just so many pokemon that have had community days and boosted events and I know people havent been playing from the beginning but seeing this as a once a year event that you have to pay to participate in fully, I wish there was more than just 2-4 things for me to shiny check every hour.
got two shiny goomy from daily incense and a shiny rayquaza. But ran out of passes so couldn't mega evolve 🥲
Will never forget this, my very first go fest was this one. On the first day I was near a park and managed to get my hands on my first ever costume shiny pikachu! Never will forget :)

There is no SHINY LUCK for some Vloggers, especially if NIANTIC invited you to the event of meet and greet, Their Acc. is automatically boosted for shiny, coz Vloggers are the Ambassador of Niantic so there is no shiny luck, i will agree for shiny luck if you are ordinary player
I did 30 over 30 raids for groudon kyogre and Rayquaza and got no shiny.. i spent 28 dollars for no shiny
For me, shiny rates were great, but spawns could have been better. Having 4 different varieties of costume pickachu was overkill and mostly dominated the spawns on Sunday when they were all spawning together. I hardly saw any wurmple or heracross on sunday too, some things just weren't common at all. For events like this and last year where day 2 is focussed pretty much on just 1 raid boss, I think they should keep the habitats going on day 2 so people can chose which hours to hunt and which to raid because lets face it you're not spending 8 hours raiding 1 raid boss over and over again.
Best go fest for me personally and I agree with your points Daxi. I would like to see a global safari zone for the majority of the player base that can’t travel.
Shiny rates for global go fest felt good this year. I think it was last year and into Hoenn tour they felt bad. 37* Shinies for me in two days, was a good haul for my small local area.
Out of 12 hours of playing I got 12 shinies and 2 hundos. Was a total disappointment for this event especially spending $15 on it. Anyone else’s luck been awful lately?
I feel ya man. I was out both days in full and only got a total of 5. Waste of time and money imo

It was amazing! Usually not that hardcore on Raids but I managed a good 43 Mega Rayquaza Raids today! Loved that Lobbies were full really fast and the best part about Raiding Mega Rayquaza was how it was so easy to take down (Being double weak to Ice) and easier to catch! (With the easier catch chance bonus)
As a Bonus I managed to get lucky with the Rocket Balloon just as Go Fest Day 1 ended, where I caught a Shadow Cowboy Hat Snorlax!

This was only my 2nd gofest and I found last year to be much better! For this years I got one shiny each day and I was grinding hard the first day. I got two shinies on day two only because I got a shiny Rayquazza from a raid-I was lightly grinding as I was focussed on Rayquazza raids. I am a F2P player and it felt like last year we had more that is now exclusively in the ticketed event (the collection challenges, better field research and more regional spawns) My pikachu’s and heracross all had 2* IV’s or lower.
I was playing free version and except raiding rayquaza this even't didn't exist there was no research almost no bonuses and normal shiny rates so I got only 1
This was my first GO Fest event, i really enjoyed it! Got 38 shinys in total over the two days! Got my two favs in shiny form, Psyduck and Lickitung! The Shiny Unowns were non exsistent! That's the only thing that i had a gripe with!
1:11 question, was that from the ticket or when you login, if it was login on day one, I didn’t get mine.
Overall great go fest season (first in person go fest and global for me) the spawn were nice and shiny rate was higher than expected, one thing that bothered me were the research task, especially on day 2 with so many raid ones it is a bit disappointing.
I got a nice 28 shinies and I played for 6 hours first day, an focused on raids next day. Though I did get shiny Groudon and Mega Shiny Rayquaza so I'm happy!
Low rate for shinies for me, only 4 on day one and 13 for the event in total. Completed five or six Rayquaza raids, no shinies there. i was really happy to get some of the regionals: pachirisu was a big deal. I was satisfied with the end result but not the best Go Fest historically.
I honestly had so much fun! It was nice to go out with the community (although it was freaking hot)
The 7km eggs were 😒😒😒
Granted, I had to work during Go Fest, but I got six shinies. Including the Goomy. While Goodra is my favorite, I prefer the normal coloration to the shiny. I also got a near perfect non-shiny Goomy, only being like two pts off from Hundo. Hopefully I can knock out the bulk of the M. Rayquaza stuff in day 2, I’m going into such with a 14/14/14 Rayquaza from like 2019.
