Hello Emi-san. This is a woman in her late 20s writing from Japan (I am turning 30 this year). I'd just like to stop by and say that you are such a beautiful woman and you give me so much courage. I continue to watch your videos so that I can be the best that I can be, and be comfortable with who I am. About your experience and societal expectations regarding age that a lot of women face--I can totally relate, and I really feel you. I truly hope we can both find and reach "OUR" definition of success that we can find content and true happiness in, not what society tells us. Please take care ❤ You are amazing!!✨

Emi, I watched this video three times, it literally made me cry. I am 36, four kids, after 10 years of marriage, I lost myself, I lost my body shape, I lost my life goal. Going through divorce right now and in the US it is a very lengthy process and could take years to finalize everything coz child custody involved. I totally agree with that no one should stay in toxic relationship that is not working or making you happy! I wish I could be strong and tough like you. I know eventually I could and I would have face everything. Tears will not work right now! I told myself no more tears, start putting myself back together! First thing I need to do is starting exercise with you, even just 20min a day, it will make a difference. Thank you Emi! Please support me!

Hi Emi, I want to thank you for your courage, strength and positivity in this video. I recently quit my stable 9-5 office job because I was unhappy in my work and being in my mid-twenties, this has caused a lot of rifts in what I thought I wanted, what I really what and finding myself (esp. with everyone around me getting married, going on luxurious holidays, having kids etc.). It's so nerve-racking because I am not one to take the path less travelled and stick out from the common group. I'm planning on going back to study to study something I know I will enjoy no matter what anyone else says, even if it takes much longer to reach my goal. Your video really encouraged me. Even though my change in life is not relationship based, when you spoke about the ideas of what society expects us or considers "normal" and how we should all lead our own unique lives despite this, it made me feel so inspired and felt like I wasn't alone. Sending so much endless love and hope in your new stage in life. You will come through even stronger

Hi Emi, I’ve been following you for years. Thank you for your courage talking about this. I was crying uncontrollably throughout the whole video because I feel exactly the same. I'm 31 and I'm going through break up with my partner of 10 years (we were also married for 2 years). I'm only at the beginning of this journey and I'm feeling like my world felt apart, I still haven't come to peace with it. I'm even questioning the decision. It's hard because we weren't visibly unhappy and similar in so many aspects but I felt like I was lacking so much in our relationship, it felt just out of habit, we increasingly drifted apart as people. You can't imagine how strong your video feels to me! Thank you for being so candid and making this video!

Hi Emi! I work in a cancer clinic since I graduated, and I felt that it's important for people to know this. Life can throw many challenges at us.. even if we live and do normal things that society expects us to do (like married, having kids at a certain age) life might not always pan out the way we want it to be. Our idea of 'ideal life' is also different from everyone else. I am in my mid 30s, dating but not married.. BUT I AM VERY HAPPY! I always tell my partner that when it happens, it happens. Right now, we are just happy exploring the world and getting to know each other better. So good for you, Emi (and Chad), for living the lives that you both want and not succumb to any pressure ❤ you guys!

    Hi Emi,
This video totally resonates with me. I am turning 39 this year and am a single woman. All of my siblings are married and some already have kids, I am the only one who is single. Have been in several long term relationships but didn't work out at the end. After being single for several years now and doing lots of reflections, those past relationships actually were important experiences that I have to go through so that I can find a way back to myself and start learning how to love myself first before loving others. Now looking back, those relationships were not the healthiest relationships and I am grateful to go through it because the lessons helped me to really open my eyes.
Being single actually help me to hear my own voice, and the voice of other people opinions and society expectations have become smaller and smaller.... it also helps me to learn and explore more about myself, which I find it so exciting..
You know that quote "sometimes the only thing that gets in our way is ourselves" - at the end of the day this is our life and only us who hold the power to make any decisions in regards to our life. Never let others opinions or society expectations take that power away from you. Your happiness is always in your own hands ❤
To be totally honest, when I look back the me before and the me now, I am currently the happiest I have ever been so far. To me it feels so liberating and I am more content with my life...
I am less anxious, I know what I want, I am more in touch with my emotions, I am more confident and able to stand up for myself..
It is definitely not an easy journey and take years for me to nurture myself, and i am still nurturing everyday, but it definitely worth it.
I am not saying that I will stay single forever because we cannot predict future, but I learn to live life with more ease, less control, going more with the flow... and I am so grateful to have the time of being single, because this space gives me the most growth...
In a month I will be doing solo travelling for the first time. I am so excited but nervous at the same time 😂
Giving you big virtual hugs and supports ❤🤗🥰

Emi, I am from India. I was in a relationship for 10 years; was married for 3 years. And now divorced. I am 30 years old now. I can really correlate your emotions. It is difficult to gather all the broken pieces and to stand strong. It took me 1 year to realize neither we were ever compatible nor we were happy together anymore. It is extremely painful to let go of a future, once you dreamt of. I have gone through a period of depression as well, at some extent self-harmful. I have just started my journey, from the very scratch.
Don't worry. It takes a bit time and sometimes scary as well. However it is full of fun, experiences and satisfaction. Keep going..

Dearest Emi...Having followed you for now, 5 years, I have watched both you and Chad grow as a couple and your business soar.
I can see and feel your pain in this video. The end of a 'season' is always challenging and painful but you have demonstrated so much courage to come on here and speak your truth so authentically that you have and will inspire so many women and girls.
I'm 61 and encourage my friends to follow you because I believe in you...just like I believe in my own kids. Wish I could hug you but maybe if you ever get to Trinidad and Tobago.🤍
Keep shining my girl, keep working on yourself...continue to share with the world that beautiful love that you have for others all around you.
I'm cheering you on...from the other side of the world!
    Much love! Chrissy🙏💫🌈🌻

Thank you Emi this is great, I needed to hear this. You will both be fine! I got married and had a baby at 28 just to follow the society timeline. Now I’m 43, a single mum and full time student at University and I love my life!!! Sometimes I worry that people judge me for being single but why do I need a man to give my life value??? What about all the other fabulous things I have??? It’s about what makes you happy not other people xx

Emi, I am so proud of you. Being able to unleash yourself from the societal expectations and norms, is the moment we realize that some things are worth letting go if it means finding ourselves again. As individuals, we are ALWAYS evolving and by that we grow and find peace in it. Staying in a relationship just because of the time you have spent together (which people tend to perceive that it's a waste when you let go) is harmful on the long-term. The timeline that we "should" follow dedicated by society is actually suffocating, let's live life on our own terms!! As for me, I was once afraid and anxious to be just by myself maybe because I was too dependent to other people to be happy, but I took the fortitude anyways. Now, I am grateful to be living alone, eating alone, bonding with myself, and of course spending time with my family and friends. It feels like I have a new found confidence I did not know I have. I love and am comfortable with myself, if there is a chance of meeting someone in the future I do not close the doors. However, for the mean time, I just want to know myself and discover what the world has in store for me. I am amazed by the amount of strength and courage you have to share such valuable piece of your life, as well as Chad's take on it especially on the co-parenting of the dogs which is crucial. Indeed you cannot pour love from an empty cup, we deserve the love we are trying to give to others. I wish you nothing but happiness, peace, and fulfillment in life.

Your openness in sharing your thoughts about how society limits women in their 30s genuinely touches me🙏 I can only imagine how challenging it must be for you to navigate a path that deviates from societal expectations. Your bravery in shedding light on this issue is truly admirable✨. As an influencer, your words have the power to inspire and uplift those who may still be grappling with the challenges imposed by society. I wholeheartedly agree with you that life is filled with an abundance of paths and possibilities. In the words of Michelle Yeoh, "Don't Let Anybody Tell You That You're Past Your Prime!❤" Your message is empowering and resonates deeply. Thank you for sharing your personal experience and for being a voice of positivity and encouragement.✨✨

I am just happy that you are doing what is best for you. Last year I went through a really hard break up with my (ex) boyfriend for 8 years. I went through everything with him (basically all of my twenties) I went through school, got dogs together, and even bought a house together thinking this was going to be forever. I decided that I was going to do what was best for me so I broke it off, so I totally agree with everything that you are saying. Proud of you for making the decision that you both have made. We all deserve to be happy. Much love

Just couple days ago your channel showed up. And I started to look your videos again, seeing what have I missed. Some of your followers might guessed this already. And here you are today sharing about your romantic relationship. I sincerely hope you can get through your situation well. Promises are often exaggerated. That's who we are and who we will always be. We make decisions based on our current happiness, whether it's for financial reasons, emotional reasons, or any other reason. We simply cannot admit that we do not value promises very much.
There's nothing inherently wrong with pursuing our own happiness or trying to discover our true selves. However, we need to acknowledge that we often view promises and marriage as insignificant.

The love of my life decided to leave me, I really love her so much I can’t stop thinking about her, I’ve tried my very best to get her back in my life, but to no avail, I’m frustrated, I don’t see my life with anyone else. I’ve done my best to get rid of the thoughts of her, but I can’t, I don’t know why I’m saying this here, I really miss her and just can’t stop thinking about her

Hi Emi, I have been following you for years now. You were always my inspiration. You taught me to stay strong and not let anyone tell me otherwise. I can feel you in this 'biological clock thing' and 'being ending up alone thing' everyone's been saying. Our families or friends have concern about us because they don't know whether we'll be fine in the next future being alone. But we are the one who have to take real decisions about us. We'll only be happy, when we take right decisions at the right moment. If a relationship is not working for you, there is no point in continuing it, suffocating both the partners. Rather, you took a best decision by continuing as friends. Ppl who say bad about u doesn't care abt u. Ppl care abt u, can understand u. So don't wry❤ Luv U lotzz❤
