My wife and I were supposed to visit Hanoi, Halong Bay, and Ninh Binh back in April of 2020, while I was living in Bangkok. However, COVID forced our trip to be cancelled.
Halong Bay, Vietnam is definitely beautiful and we’ll have to visit there someday.

Check the Ha Giang loop, Sapa, Moc chau, Hoang su phi, mu cang chai, mai chau, phong nha, daklak, Danang and pleiku. They are spectacular.

Yes we wish we did the 3 day tour after all! We were there at the beginning of December. We were very very lucky with the weather as it’s usually not that sunny that time of the year! 😊
did you have a special permission for the drone shots? I´ve read online that Vietnam is very restrictive with that so I was considering to leave it at home. Any experiences from your side?

Yes you definitely can! Just be aware that it's the raining season with occasional bursts of rainfall. Average temperatures ranging from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius, so that is nice. It's also holiday season for Vietnamese people so expect lots of local travelers

How do I get from ha long to cat ba island
Hi, I'm from Vietnam. Just passing by your comment. You can go to Cat Ba from Ha Long by coach (8-9$ per ticket, about 2 hours) or ferry (from Tuan Chau to Gia Luan seaport, 3-4$ per ticket but sold out very fast). Hope it helps.

There are 100s of cruises offered with different prices and luxury levels. Just be aware that the price you pay will reflect the quality and comfort! This video reviews the particular one we did, which wasn’t the cheapest but the quality was high

in fact the water is murky and there are many tourist boats
I did the 1 day tour in Dec 2023. Definitely worth it and you get to experience every place in the 2 day tour in this video. I agree with everything in this video and the only thing I have to add is be prepared to hike up the hills. I saw people struggling to get up and down. Another tip, if you do the visa application online, make sure you have the right agency. I saw some people stranded at immigration because they were scammed by some unapproved agency. I can tell you that these communist civil servants are not very sympathetic.

I was robbed in the hotel I stayed so becareful where you stay am not telling all hotel but some….
