Well, Tony.. I'd say it's good here in Reno and Sparks. Carson City is great for records thrifting, too ! I'm lucky that this is my home turf because .. knock on wood, I found 6 LP's in the shrink 1.50 each this morning before work. In California ( 15 miles to the border ), it's highly competitive for thrift records. Bill's has been an amazing experience, and we are now good friends who treat each other fairly. Thanks so much 🎵

It's not that they are especially rare, except for that UK original Ziggy and the low numbered White Album. More of the fact that I love the music, and it is very rare to see this many records from England all in one collection, way over here !

Thanks for noticing my Billy Joe Shaver.. I freaked when I pulled it out of a box over at Bill's. These are all thrift records that he picked in the 90s thru 2010 or so. Looks like Bill's collection in his garage keeps on growing bigger each time, and this is an awesome thing to encounter. I really hate it when the record is missing or the wrong record has been inserted in the jacket. Only exception to the rule would be an obscure or holy grail. Ha! Fat chance of that happening. The East Coast pressings are worth more than the West Coast ( winchester ) pressings. It's interesting to read about the differences online, much that I didn't know about this iconic album !

I freaked a bit when I pulled Fuzzbox out of a stack ! I couldn't remember if the Lee Oskar was good until I streamed it a few months ago.. I saw it several times over at Bill's and back in the day I heard it, but didn't pay much attention to it. Glad to have it.. It's a banger, for sure !

Honesty don't remember much about their set but it's cool you brought them up. That Mamouna Tour was outstanding. Robin Trower was his lead guitarist on the European leg of the tour. Take care!

OK.. So Bill was a crazy thrifter like me in Northern California ( Chico and Oroville ) and Reno / Sparks for 25 years or so. He was also a DJ that would spin these on his radio spot.. Lol Here in Honolulu, Goodwill Vinyl prices has gone up , use to be $1.49, now it's $2.99 & up....😢 Even Salvation Army rasised their prices little over a year ago here too, Vinyl was .99 each, Now it's $1.99 & up...😢. In the last 6 months, Idea's Music and Books, once a month, sale "Back room of Wonder " no longer have $1.00 record albums they are now $2.00 each. Some nice pick ups. Watching your video makes me want to go record shopping on my first day of summer vacation. Really enjoyed seeing the Fuzzbox and B52 singles. The B52s singles are gravitating towards the high side. I came across a 7 in single in the picture sleeve of Private Idaho for $35. It was crazy. I passed on it. Ok.. I don't count...I have around 5000 LP's and 5000 Cd's ! A whole lot of very clean cassettes as well. Thrifting is so relaxing to me.. Driving around, getting lucky, and listening to music in the car ! A woman at Goodwill turned me onto "Ode To Billy Joe" Patty Smyth with David Sanborn.. Excellent, I had heard it before. Fuzzbox was a very cool find, for sure ! You can tell that I like almost everything ! Haha Thank you ☺
Hi JT. You passed on the Kingsmen's 2nd LP. The initial pressing had 'Death Of An Angel' added after the sleeve was printed, so a yellow sticker was added on the front cover. That's according to Wikipedia ... James McMurtry's debut LP was a good find. Like a fool, I missed out on seeing him live a few years when he played at my favourite venue ... Some nice finds at the Goodwill. It's always good when the record you want is still in the shrink. Did you miss out on 'It Takes A Year' by William Ackerman on Windham Hill?
Hmm, I had a feeling I needed to have a better look at that Kingsmen, I'm going back, anyhow. I do have Will Ackermann's record, and I couldn't believe it when I found James McMurtry's debut on vinyl ! I have enjoyed that album for years on Cd..

You picked up some great records. That Billy Joe Shaver album is hard to find and quite pricey now. I really think that James McMurtry is an unsung songwriter and love his debut which I have on CD. I see more good records in your flipping than I have ever seen at a Goodwill store. The single from that Vaughn Brothers album was extremely catchy.

No.. He thrifted like me for well over 20 years, locally and in Chico, Ca. Oroville and around. He was a DJ in the 90's.. So he spun these on his radio show. He started selling to me 18 months ago, as he is way more into his Cd's than these records ! Good for me.. Right ! 😊

I see Jimi Hendrix pictures, 3 dog night Poco , Dan Fogelberg , Art Garfunkel , EmmyLou Harris , sweet Stevie and Jimmy, How much is the Velvet underground first press worth what were they asking for it? in todays money with scuffs and light scratches does 275.00 sound like a lot? it does to me 275 light scratches and scuffs. I went to my Goodwill Wedneseday the 19th the records were either scratched, jackets missing records and some jackets were warped and had mold on them.
How goes it, Mark ! So.. To buy a worthwhile first press of a 1967 VU.. There are a lot of factors. East Coat press is worth more than West Coast ( LA plant ).. and condition condition ! It takes shopping on the internet, or driving to record shops that have one, and.. Negotiate ! I have a 1968 2nd press that I like a lot from Bill's.. I think I paid 40 or 50 dollars.. So that right there is a very good deal. E Bay and Discogs are the places to do the homework first, because the prices are all over the place. And no, I wouldn't buy the one I showed in the video, although.. That's what it is worth at a fair price. Gabriel is a fair guy..🎵
Thrift stores take a lot of work checking in very often, and getting to meet the workers helps. I found out about records being put out recently at a chain of stores, so.. That helps to score vinyl thrifting ! Thanks, Mark
Bill's garage appears to be like Dr.Who's TARDIS. Bigger on the inside. I was mad about TMBGs back in the day they had the one big hit here and flood is still such a great album. Similarly oddball King Missile (of the detachable penis song) I think they were more drug influenced though whereas they might be giants were just more worryingly not using substances but were weird lyrics. Hey ho 😅

All of Bill's records were found from him thrifting.. 1995- 2015 or so. He likes his CDs a lot more than all of his vinyl..

Hey J.T. love your Channel . I saw Combustible Edison open for Bryan Ferry (Mamouna Tour) in 1994 at Will Rogers Collesium in Ft. Worth. Honesty don't remember much about their set but it's cool you brought them up. That Mamouna Tour was outstanding. Robin Trower was his lead guitarist on the European leg of the tour. Take care!

I like the Box Of Frogs album the old Yardbirds group I have two of the Box Of Frogs album they ever made.
I was surprised to come across Box Of Frogs, and had to remind myself what it is ! I really like it as well. There are some unusual and rare records that I have pulled out of his garage, for sure ! Thanks again, Daryl.. I will look for the other title of theirs !

Wow. This is so mesmerising to watch. I've never seen a Matthew Wilder lp. You can always find a Paul Robson album in the charity shops in the UK. He was crazy popular back in the day out here in the UK. Love that Wes Montgomery album. Brilliant. What great finds at the thrift shops too! I have that Brothers Johnsons lp ...it's awesome. Please remind me.....why does Bill have so many boxed up records in his garage?
OK.. So Bill was a crazy thrifter like me in Northern California ( Chico and Oroville ) and Reno / Sparks for 25 years or so. He was also a DJ that would spin these on his radio spot.. He is way more into his Cd's, which sure works for me ! I love Wes on RUclips with a trio only or quartet. Thanks RM

Here in Honolulu, Goodwill Vinyl prices has gone up , use to be $1.49, now it's $2.99 & up....😢
Even Salvation Army rasised their prices little over a year ago here too, Vinyl was .99 each, Now it's $1.99 & up...😢.
In the last 6 months, Idea's Music and Books, once a month, sale "Back room of Wonder " no longer have $1.00 record albums they are now $2.00 each.

I had to look Charles Chips up, never heard of it.. Looks good, though.. It's an East Coast thing.. Lancaster Pa. My Mom's side is from there and Philly 👍I'm sure she knew about this back in the bad old days !

@@jtsrecordroom3963 they will trade for records but only UK first press color vinyl with side two an etching. a handful of sub shops in town stock them in small bags. I used to get them a lot.
Some nice pick ups. Watching your video makes me want to go record shopping on my first day of summer vacation. Really enjoyed seeing the Fuzzbox and B52 singles. The B52s singles are gravitating towards the high side. I came across a 7 in single in the picture sleeve of Private Idaho for $35. It was crazy. I passed on it. How many records do you have in your collection, JT? Happy spinning.
Ok.. I don't count...I have around 5000 LP's and 5000 Cd's ! A whole lot of very clean cassettes as well. Thrifting is so relaxing to me.. Driving around, getting lucky, and listening to music in the car ! A woman at Goodwill turned me onto "Ode To Billy Joe" Patty Smyth with David Sanborn.. Excellent, I had heard it before. Fuzzbox was a very cool find, for sure ! You can tell that I like almost everything ! Haha Thank you ☺

Hi JT. You passed on the Kingsmen's 2nd LP. The initial pressing had 'Death Of An Angel' added after the sleeve was printed, so a yellow sticker was added on the front cover. That's according to Wikipedia ... James McMurtry's debut LP was a good find. Like a fool, I missed out on seeing him live a few years when he played at my favourite venue ... Some nice finds at the Goodwill. It's always good when the record you want is still in the shrink. Did you miss out on 'It Takes A Year' by William Ackerman on Windham Hill?
Hmm, I had a feeling I needed to have a better look at that Kingsmen, I'm going back, anyhow. I do have Will Ackermann's record, and I couldn't believe it when I found James McMurtry's debut on vinyl ! I have enjoyed that album for years on Cd..

You picked up some great records. That Billy Joe Shaver album is hard to find and quite pricey now. I really think that James McMurtry is an unsung songwriter and love his debut which I have on CD. I see more good records in your flipping than I have ever seen at a Goodwill store. The single from that Vaughn Brothers album was extremely catchy.

No.. He thrifted like me for well over 20 years, locally and in Chico, Ca. Oroville and around. He was a DJ in the 90's.. So he spun these on his radio show. He started selling to me 18 months ago, as he is way more into his Cd's than these records ! Good for me.. Right ! 😊

Yep ! That's mine.. NM condish on the jacket and the wax ! The one at Bill's is VG++ on the vinyl and VG + on the jacket.. If it's still there ! I'm happy with mine..

How much is the Velvet underground first press worth what were they asking for it? in todays money with scuffs and light scratches does 275.00 sound like a lot? it does to me 275 light scratches and scuffs.
I went to my Goodwill Wedneseday the 19th the records were either scratched, jackets missing records and some jackets were warped and had mold on them.
How goes it, Mark ! So.. To buy a worthwhile first press of a 1967 VU.. There are a lot of factors. East Coat press is worth more than West Coast ( LA plant ).. and condition condition ! It takes shopping on the internet, or driving to record shops that have one, and.. Negotiate ! I have a 1968 2nd press that I like a lot from Bill's.. I think I paid 40 or 50 dollars.. So that right there is a very good deal. E Bay and Discogs are the places to do the homework first, because the prices are all over the place. And no, I wouldn't buy the one I showed in the video, although.. That's what it is worth at a fair price. Gabriel is a fair guy..🎵
Thrift stores take a lot of work checking in very often, and getting to meet the workers helps. I found out about records being put out recently at a chain of stores, so.. That helps to score vinyl thrifting ! Thanks, Mark

I was mad about TMBGs back in the day they had the one big hit here and flood is still such a great album. Similarly oddball King Missile (of the detachable penis song) I think they were more drug influenced though whereas they might be giants were just more worryingly not using substances but were weird lyrics. Hey ho 😅
