This is a straight forward, minimally invasive procedure. TVs have this issue periodically. At the cost of $8 and a half an hour (of concentrated work) anyone could save hundreds of $$.
Things to keep in mind. Static - touch something metal before touching electronics and wear cotton clothes. When soldering - microchips and transistors don't like heat. Soldering near these components require quick action, no prolonged heating please. Capacitors are heat tolerant when soldering. Make sure to keep correct polarity - inserting correct leg into correct hole on the board.
