JD, I believe the story on the Grady Martin Fuzz Solo is that there was a faulty Channel strip on the console, which caused the distortion. It wasn’t that the channel was cranked to intentionally distort the track. Grady came to the control room to listen to his track and thought his solo was ruined, but the producer loved the effect and decided to keep it.
Thanks for making your program a great blend of history, jamming, and discussion of gear, music etc. It is really engaging. Love the way you double guitar lines with you voice and sing backed off the mic. Such a cool effect.
