By the time they tell you it's breaded in pepper extract... the powder doesn't even matter. Extract is the grossest way to heat up a dish, at least real chili powder has flavor. REGARDLESS a very VERY impressive win!!!

technically the hottest pepper for now yes but there is something hotter, that king of spice goes to the Euphorbia Resinifera which ironically is a cactus but it's milky substance has actually a scoville scale of 16 BILLION and kills off nerve ends, which made it a great candidate for pain medication.
This is the best kind of “challenge” where the owner is 100% certain nobody will win and some nice honest guy comes in and takes their money by winning. F them and big ups to you.

Joel, you should really have sued them for false advertising. You could even try to sue them for poisoning you because the amount of extra spice could really hurt someone. Even though you signed a waiver, they truly deceived you, as what you signed was not as advertised. When you sign a waiver, you are signing what you believe they are advertising, and that was not.
Definitely agree with you wholeheartedly about the venue lying about the pepper x. That could have had very serious side effects, and you could have been injured badly.

I've experienced it myself at the hungry horse in Oxfordshire I ordered the ten wing spicy challenge and went to the toilet before it came out and as I walked by the kitchen the chef was telling his assistant to put shit loads on and really fuck him up!!! I told the waitress to tell him I heard everything he said and to remake them properly. Because it's a concentrated sauce that's so fucking dangerous to play around with you could really hurt someone. I managed to do it and got no well done from the staff because I caught them out and had to pay me £50 prize money. It was ridiculously hot so I can't imagine how hot it would have been if I didn't catch them

I totally remember the shortness of breath, which I was seeing from Joel. Going mindlessly numb, feeling those cold chills, the shaking; everything. You know that if the Owner deliberately “conned” you (or others taking the challenge) by switching from 1M scovilles to 3M scovilles without informing people can be held accountable. It’s VERY much feasible that individuals can have severe medical issues, even death…and that’s not an exaggeration. Owner was very flippant and withheld the dangers which made him 100% liable for any/everything that happened/could have happened. You’re a Champ, Joel. Don’t do that again! 🏆

Water does not do shit for heat challenges. How many years has this misconception been around, and how many more decades will it remain? You need something to neutralize the heat, like milk. Water just spreads the capsaicin around and makes sure that more of your mouth gets burned. Though I can see them charging $300 for each glass of milk since it actually has an effect on the heat.

Most competitive eaters could do it, it’s a lot of food but he finished it with plenty of time and that’s all the challenge really is. The heat is an uncomfortable side effect during it, and deathly side effect after. The real question is how many competitive eaters are crazy enough to do this, that’s the small group your talking about.

Water does not do shit for heat challenges. How many years has this misconception been around, and how many more decades will it remain? You need something to neutralize the heat, like milk. Water just spreads the capsaicin around and makes sure that more of your mouth gets burned. Though I can see them charging $300 for each glass of milk since it actually has an effect on the heat.
