You SHOULD expose every restaurant that throws you out. If they promise all you can eat, then it should be all you can eat. And should be exposed for their behaviour to their customers. *EDIT* : This comment has blown up, i still think Joel should expose the restuarant. The all you can eat thing is a joke just to get customers. If something in policy I would ask them to show me the part of the policy. Some places have a different price for pro eaters, others have time limits, etc. Whatever they decide to do for their business is fine, all I'm saying is that they should stick to it... and if they don't, the customer should not have to pay. It's not about "exposing" businesses that false advertise. They need to be educated, not exposed. What if the owners (for example) are an older immigrant couple running a business, and they aren't familiar with podcasts, or competitive eaters. Not everyone knows these things or thinks them through. Joel knows he can "destroy" their buffet or damage their profits or ruin their finances. What if they're poor and barely making it? They should be educated, not exposed. He knows he is a professional eater, he needs to be the bigger man.

Joel, back in the day me and my friends ate out a lot. We averaged 4 restaurants an evening for full meals, not counting somewheres for desert. Often we would get cut off from ordering too much food. We were polite, tipped well and fully understood that you can't tie up a table sitting around shooting the breeze. But we were spending money! Never could understand this.
My favorite dish is a very hard to find Lotus Root Soup. I found a place that had it and right away ordered 5 soups. I decided I wanted two more orders of soup and was told they would not sell me anymore! I assume its so other customers get some too, but it still feels funny to be cut off.
    Don't feel bad......feel badass!
YOU are the King of food, and you strike fear into buffets!

They will NEVER suffer a loss because of one guy that eats a lot, simply because there are gonna be a lot of people that eat a lot less and they recoup the so called loss. All you can eat should be all you can eat,if not then they need to explicitly tell you that. I went to a all you can eat pork ribs spot in my country, ate 11 huge ribs and they kept asking me if i want more :)) mind you it was VERY cheap, but the ribs tasted amazing, the bbq sauce was homemade and tasted amazing and the meat was super tender. So definitely worth the money. But not everyone can eat 11ribs, my sister for example barely ate 2. That's my point, they will recoup the "loss" from other customers that can't actually eat that much
