I was just watching TV and a show called County Weekend was on. At least I think that was the name of it. And there you were! I got up and yelled "it's MIA!!!!! Needless to say everyone thought a was a bit psycho bouncing around yelling MIA! No one in the room knew that you were my first inspiration that led me to play drums. I first watch you on RUclips when you were 10 years old. I went out and bought a drum set and never looked back! I thought to myself in that moment.. If that little girl can do it, so can I. Thank you Doug. I've been filming some of the shows and plan on getting something up involving them but I've not been able to look at them to know exactly what so far. One more week that looks seriously packed with my shows and a couple side-man shows but it's looking like February may give me a little more free time for editing. The presenter sounded pretty positive about too, which as a great bonus - hopefully, it will help you become as well known among the general public as you clearly already are in the local music community.
I never knew before this but yes... :D it's pretty cool. The people at Lightning 100 have been really supportive and they certainly don't get anything from an indie artist like me for doing it so I can't say enough good things about that station. I plan on returning the favor somehow down the road if I'm ever in a position to do it.
@@miamorrismusic Well, being on a different continent I don't know the station's program format (so take this with as much salt as you like), but I'd imagine that for the stations i know, contacting them and offering an interview with them that they could air the next time they play it might be of interest to them, as local radio does often struggle for content, so such an interview may benefit both them and you, with them getting an inexpensive way to fill some airtime and you obviously getting the additional exposure among the listening public.

It had been on twice earlier in the day, both around the half hour mark and I had missed them. I started making a point of paying better attention by the time 4:30 rolled around so I was on it :) I still was not prepared for the rush of adrenalin the moment that it happened..

good question. Singing bgv's well, is more like doing an impression. You have to pick up on phrasing and really even accent to lock in. The notes are a given, but her voice certainly isn't the strangest one as far as a challenge. She's got fantastic intonation so she's easier to lock in with than someone less skilled.

It had been on twice earlier in the day, both around the half hour mark and I had missed them. I started making a point of paying better attention by the time 4:30 rolled around so I was on it :) I still was not prepared for the rush of adrenalin the moment that it happened..

off topic, is it hard to sing with someone like Calista? she seems to have an EXTREMELY large rangeand uses all of it...
good question. Singing bgv's well, is more like doing an impression. You have to pick up on phrasing and really even accent to lock in. The notes are a given, but her voice certainly isn't the strangest one as far as a challenge. She's got fantastic intonation so she's easier to lock in with than someone less skilled.
