  • Testing a 6S configuration, but only useful at 50% power. I will need to try removing the liner and getting a brass tube that is more suited to that cable to make it work at the full 100%. It runs good and has great range now on 3S. Maybe 4S testing next with a bigger prop 👍 Enjoy! BG4L #rc #scalemodel #rchobbies #rcboat #rcforall #wltoys #boatgang

    Status update: I tried removing the teflon liner from the flex tube.. greased the crap out of the cable and tube to hopefully stop the cable from binding. It squealed again for about 2 seconds before the motor began billowing smoke. So, this was the last run of this boat. I don't want to invest any more time or money in this hull, but I will strip the useful parts for future stuff. Replacement basher boat in the works! 🛠👍

    You’ve completely sold me on rc boats. So relaxing to see the ripples. The rain was a nice addition visually. I especially like that whirlpool you made towards the end.
    I totally relate to the sadness that comes with losing your cat. I’m still haunted by my dogs passing last year. Hopefully things start brightening up soon.
    Have a great weekend 👍✌🏼

      Yup, this one was fun for the money but I just cooked the motor after cleaning and testing 6S again 😆 I like how the prop churns through the water and yeah.. it's a different kinda chill. Have a good one as well my friend!

      Well.. I tried removing the teflon liner in the tube and greasing the crap out of it. Ran it up on 6S and it squealed again for about 3 seconds before the motor began billowing smoke. She's cooked, and I'm just gonna move on to a bigger hull. It's not worth the time or money to put another motor in this one 👍🤜🤛

    Not sure on the voltage alarm because I don’t have any… but maybe when it says under full throttle it’s setting it off…. Just a guess though…I think I need a boat now!🤜🤛

    • @scaleworksRC
      @scaleworksRC  Месяц назад

      Yep, I think you're right.. the volts are dropping below 3.79 under throttle.. (sigh) still a fun outing though. If you do get one.. try to stay away from these smaller hulls under 20" or so.

    Just get a nice 3 or 4 cell set up for this boat and have it for a fun nice riding boat when the next project boat has problems. Tunnel hulls always look nice on the water.
    The alarm is going off because when you are using the motor it is drawing power from the batteries which brings the voltage on the battery lower. When you are checking the batteries with the voltage alarm the motor is not drawing any power so you get a higher reading.
    I hear the udi005 is a good project boat at 25” and not very expensive. Looking at adding one to my fleet.

    • @scaleworksRC
      @scaleworksRC  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah that sounds right about the alarm, and good idea for a project boat, but it's already been scrapped. Learned my lessons on that tiny hull with it's limitations, but I do want to build a proper tunnel hull someday

    Mine burnt up after two stock runs, and I threw it in the trash I own six boats and most are budget boats that have been completely rebuilt. I do have a Proboat Blackjack 24 that hauls booty. I have several boats that do 50mph all the time and a couple that have hit 70mph.

      Yeah.. it was ok fun for the money and a learning experience for sure 😁 I wanted to get that new Blackjack 24, but didn't want to wait for the funds.. so I got a UDI Arrow for now. It's good fun for the money but not nearly as fast as your boats!FLBG4L🚤💨

    • @scaleworksRC

      I kept the motor stock, but it's not string enough for 6S. I ended up cooking the motor during testing and retired the boat for a better one. 👍
