Hey everyone, quick note! I was gonna do this on my cast iron skillet and got out my metal spatula. I realized I wouldn't be able to fit everything on the skillet so I switched to my non-stick griddle and spaced out and didn't switch to a silicon spatula. Don't use metal utensils on non-stick pans like me! Learn from my mistakes!
Hey! Great video. I enjoy all of your videos and recipes. I had to make a note on this one... I believe I saw this on the Hook channel about White Castle. The purpose for the holes in the burgers, is to decrease the amount of time that it takes to cook them. They say by having the holes in the burgers, they found that they do not need to flip them and both sides will cook evenly. I thought that was an interesting fact to learn this is the second time that I've watched this particular video of yours. I have high hopes for your channel you are going to be very popular one day. I can't find another channel that does what you do as well as you.
I tried to find some exploding onions, but my store only had slightly popping onions with a side of fell on the floor a few times but washed 'em off, no one will know.
both my parents grew up around white castle but moved away. when we would go visit family, my dad would buy a crave case on the drive home (idk how many white castle burgers are included) and eat them cold from the fridge for like 3 days... these look like an amazing substitute! I'm loving your channel!
I think I started eating Daiya right when the recipe improved bc I don’t understand why people hate it 😂 These look delicious by the way, definitely gonna try to make them soon!
I agree. I never liked the old Daiya, but their new stuff is really good. I've been using those exact same slices on burgers recently and they're excellent.
I never had a White Castle slider before I went vegan and always wondered what they would be like, and now I get to find out. Thanks for this recipe!!!
Dude! Way to go! I remember moving to Chicago suburbs in the early 2000s and had a White Castle on the way home from work. Thought these were such good burger. Now, I can't wait to give these vegan ones a try. Thanks!!!
Wait, you ate ONE Whitecastle? Just one? And you say you liked it. Sorry, that just blows my mind. I was born and raised in Chicago. Those things are addictive.
Once one a while, when I’m having a fat day, I’ll make a huge batch of these. I even use dehydrated onions like White Castle. The whole house stinks like onions, but it’s worth it.
Spot on! I cut my plant based meats in half and treat them like a smashed, and with the onions it has the total taste of White Castle... I say it to my wife everytime! I really dig the way you make the rectangle of meat... super good idea
These look great. Tried your Jack in the Box tacos and McRib. Can't wait to try these. Have you tried Violife cheddar? It's been my go to. Is the new Daya better?
@@hollywoodheiner6028 Have you tried the VioLife Epic Cheddar Blocks? Is it crucial to freeze them ? I have my beyond meat that is already frozen and I have to thaw them out to get them in shape. So I don’t know if I should freeze them again.
Oh dang! You can try it without refreezing, which I think you are correct, you shouldn't refreeze. Good quality video, but that is not very "homemade", you bought all your ingredients pre made from the store. Like buying Oreos and chocolate and saying "Homemade vegan chocolate coated cookies".
Well I see a difference between “from scratch” and “homemade” for one thing, my channel is aimed at people trying to cut down / eliminate meat. Since most non-vegan recipes would use cheese / meat from the store I’m doing the same to show how easy it is (vs making vegan meat / cheese from scratch, which would be information overload IMO). Additionally I made these at home vs. going to White Castle so not sure what else you’d call them.
