As someone who is grinding core story and maps for keys/weapon skins, getting to 80 is so easy to do just by doing map completion. You get to 80 well before you finish the map, and that's especially true if you throw in story.

I really liked the leveling process in Guild Wars 2 when I did the first time. One double-up I found is that map completion nearly always gets you to 80, if slower, but you also end up with a gift of exploration really early, which then also gave me an immediate goal of using it to make a first legendary

Outside of meta changes, once you've reached level cap in vertical progression games, your build is going nowhere. It becomes a "number goes up" game where you're chasing the next shiny bauble that you'll slot in and forget about the next day. Rinse and repeat that for the next thousands of hours worth of seasons/xpacks the game puts out. That sounds superior to new ways of experiencing the content by reframing your character's abilities through the lens of a new spec/new masteries that change up the whole farming loop?

      @Insig385 Год назад +1

if you mean you're used to using a controller, there's not much else other than get used to playing with kb/m. I started gw2 after only having had console (controller) experience too, what I ended up doing is rebinding all my keys in such a way that's closer to typing position. i actually got rid of backpedal entirely, so I have D as forward, S as left strafe, F as right straf, and then the 2-6 skills I actually mapped to qwera instead, and 1 skill to one of my mouse's side buttons. the f1, f2 etc I actually bound to like shift + z, x,c ,v and s (shift+s). I basically fucked up every standard kb norms 😂 but it works so well for my small hand, and everything felt naturally like im just typing really fast one handed.
its been a couple months since ur msg so hopefully you already got used to kb/m! for mouse's moving camera, there is an action camera option but if ur discomfort came from previously using controller,I suggest you just get used to right click and drag for camera/direction change. this is because you can place aoe easier with free cam (like you can place aoe behind you as u run with free camera, but you cant with action camera without having to turn around), and in game modes like pvp and wvw, its really important to be able to see more of what's going on around u, as well as be able to run in one direction while looking in another direction (left click drag move cam freely, while right click drag chamges your character's forward movement direction)
but yeah as someone who grew up on console gaming and still primarily use controller for my pc gaming where possible, I completely understand the kb/m struggle lol. but I can safely say that you do get used to it, and you'd be surprised at how automatic/muscle memory it gets just like with controller.
      goodluck!

Note Mesmur does not have this, however, Mesmur allows fastest travel ability once you hit level 80 and if you can make use of Superior Rune of the Traveler which you will have to be creative about acquiring if you are playing F2P. Mesmur has an ability that gives a swiftness buff along with a random buff which stacks with the 25% where if you are using Rune of the traveler does not stack with the signet passive.
also, once you reach level 77, you can go to the silverwastes and reach level 80 fast, and get some rare grade level 80 gear without having to craft.

The adventure guide is great for stuff like this but it completely ruins the pacing of levelling and makes it kinda unfun for people who actually like to do it. The higher levels are just grind, too, instead of being a good way to point new players to the higher level activities. You can hit 80 before you even unlock guide 4. It uses the achievement panel which is A Choice. To top it all off, you can't disable it so people like me who actually enjoy the alt leveling process get shafted. IMO it should either be per account, have a way to disable it, or be remade into a better new player experience.

On the other hand, as an Entertainer (appeared in a few movies) I received substantially more;). While a soldier, well, let's just say I was paid SUBSTANTIALLY less LOL, course I was 'working' some SERIOUSLY LOOOONG hours back then (VN era : Former FORCES COMMAND HQ, XVIII ABN Spcl Serv/Wfare"SKYDRAGON" here
AND, I've known a few people from that era who've made a lot more...a few of which are pretty well known i.e., classmate John Roberts, current US Supreme Court Chief Justice, another former drinking buddy-Senator Mark Warner, who went on to found a little company named "Nortel" and who I believe is still the Senior Senator from the State of Virginia, not to mention a guy I played poker with way back then and over the years since, I've shared a few MORE drinks with, who, up until the rise of Elon , was generally considered the richest single man on the Planet, i.e. Bill Gates.
Work Hard, DREAM BIG, and you just might surprise yourself with what YOU can accomplish, both financially and otherwise. I remember a little game company started by a couple of 'dreamers' that I I once did some work for called "Sierra On Line:)"
One thing to never forget if you're just starting out..
When someone tells you that a thing:
      "CAN"T BE DONE",
Imho what they're REALLY saying is that THEY CAN"T DO IT!- YOU'LL never know whether YOU can do it, or not , if you don't at least give it TRY!!!!.)
It's YOUR life, live it the way YOU want to..
You don't have to be an American to live the "American Dream". You just have to "turn your eyes inward", figure out what it is YOU want, then GO FOR IT:)
      (gets down off soapbox) g'luck
