I bought a store pick Blue Note uncut/unfiltered, tried it when I got home, and went back and bought another.
I picked up a bottle of Blue Note Uncut (116.5 proof) yesterday for $43. It had a fruitiness, raisin flavor - in a good way. A bit of caramel. I stopped at a store I had never visited to check out their bourbons, and they had a limited selection and very high prices. I was on my way out without buying anything* when I saw this. I couldn’t believe it was under $45 (barrel #15046 for what it’s worth).
I really like this bourbon. It might be my favorite bottle I have right now. It doesn’t taste high-proof, it is really smooth (I know bourbon people hate that word). I want to go back and grab a second bottle before it’s gone. maybe a third too!
I have no idea if this is a survival barrel, but I don’t care. This is great juice!
* When I don’t find anything I want at a new store, I at least buy an airplane bottle or 2 before I leave, just to be polite.
I have never tried the EC barrel proof, and since I won't spend over $50 (at least I haven't) I am not likely to try it any time soon. prices are 80 and up where I have seen it
PS - I went back today and bought 3 more bottles. Who knows if I will see this again, and if I do, a different barrel may not taste this good.
Found this episode that I somehow missed. I bought a Blue Note Juke Joint Uncut Unfiltered which was a Seelbach’s pick that tasted like a Snickerdoodle. Fantastic. Love all the ECBP offerings, some more than others. I wish Blue Note was available in my area. I’ll have to hunt on my next trip to TN. 🥃
I just purchased a JJ. I don't get it. Its watery. Doesn't even compare to ECBP. This isn't even fair.
I really like the ECBP B522. I have both the A &B batches for 2022, and so far both have been very good. Great blind Dara.

Both of these are bangers. The Uncut Juke Joint is so funky and good. The ECBP is always silky sweet and a Lil creamy.sometime I find a milk chocolate note under there. Anyone else?

JJ isn't a "banger" in ANY sense. WTF are you people getting that I don't? JJ isn't good. It's below Buffalo Trace. And not in a good way.
My GSD has given me a blackeye before too, haha. His heads too big for his own good.
I feel like ECBP has been slipping in value, while Blue Note is a solid drink for the price point. $89 average for ECBP is just "eh" status for me.

The real question is, how is Jade's head.
Blue note travels better than Elijah Craig as you drink the bottle down day to day craig ends funky at low end of the bottle
