Kelley, Your videos have really helped me a lot. I had a mastectomy on my right side with 3 lymph nodes removed a year ago and sometimes it becomes sore, achy and a little swollen. All of your videos have helped to make me feel better. You don't do unnecessary talking and get right to the point. I am so glad I found your channel. Thank you!
Thank you, Kelly, this looks so helpful. I had a bilateral mastectomy 4 months ago, with reconstruction 3 months later. Am told my swelling is within normal limits, but I'd like to help clear it up asap if possible. It takes so long to get in to see anyone these days -- weeks or months -- that a resource like this, that can be begun right away, is very useful. I'm researching a good compression bra, as you suggest, and looking up your videos on massage, as well.
You know, this day is the 17th day of my post op mastectomy, watching your another video is very helpful to terapy my left arm that 2cm circle of the axilla diference from my right arm. Thank you so much
Hi Kelly, your videos on lymphedema have been really helpful for me. l have neuropathy in my fingers and feet due to chemo. lt would be really great if you can do a video on exercises, if any, to manage or reduce neuropathy. Many thanks!
Found this very helpful for left breast lymphedema that has set in 3 mo. following lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy (two nodes removed) from left breast. Also Had 20 radiation treatments on left breast and saw swelling after 3 mo. Great info for those of us who are not sure how to help curb the swelling in the proper manner. Thank you Kelly!
I had almost the same thing as you - lumpectomy left breast, 3 nodes removed & 31 radiation treatments (included 6 targeted treatments). Finished treatments 6 weeks ago and now getting the breast swelling. I'm so happy to have found this channel - Kelly is great, huh?
@@lolli9820 I hope you are doing better now. It will be one year since 21 Radiation treatments on Sept. 21. I am still very swollen. Some intermittent pain in left breast and under arm. At 74 I am done running all over. I wanted quality. Not quantity. I am kind of worn out now. Not 100% trusting of Mammogram etc.
@@lolli9820 Hi. Yes we sound similar. I had 2 lymph nodes removed. One was malignant. So the cancer had spread. They wanted to Target under that left arm BUT I have a heart defect I was born with...so they said treatment could potentially damage my heart...because of left side cancer. So I said only Target the breast. They removed my nipple and the lump and 2 lymph nodes. I know what you went through. Def not easy...on any level. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@mikilane3956 Hi Miki - Yes, I talked to my cardiologist prior to starting treatment. Did they have you do the deep inhalation breathing? Big deep breath, hold it for 15-20 seconds to keep your chest cavity expanded while they blast the nukes, but not close to the heart ...... of the 3 lymph nodes removed, 2 were malignant. Sure hope these exercises help you - I just started mine today. God bless - let's hang in there Girl 🙏🙏👊👊
@@lolli9820 Hi. No. No deep breathing etc. My nukes were relatively short. I had an awful burn!! It healed using baby diaper cream!! White zinc oxide. Yes we are Soul Sisters. I live in Cle. Ohio area (Willowick). I would like to stay in touch. Email or....phone. Text talk etc. Let me know. This can be a lonely journey. Sigh....🤷♀️
Hi Kelly, thanks for the great info. Immediately after a surgery, what would you tell a patient/client if they asked you "How long do I need to keep doing these exercises for?". Many patients will see their surgeon two weeks post-op, but their next visit might not be for another six months...
Have you ever seen patients complain that she or he has more pain when wearing compression against the breast? It's been six weeks since I completed whole breast radiation with boost treatments and I have breast and arm pain all day, but not at night when I sleep. The pain is worse after exercise because the breast swells. My surgery was done on base with a general surgeon which isn't a cancer center so I don't have access to anyone specializing in breast cancer.
This was great for my upper body issues. Have pain in ankles, knees, and shins after lumpectomy and one lymph node removed. Had blue radioactive dye injected in breast before surgery. Any ideas why and what to do about it?
Hi. I developed truncal lymphoma on my left side after double mastectomy after the drain was removed too soon after surgery. That side swelled up immensely but slowly went down some on it’s own, my doctor didn’t want to drain with a needle. In December it’ll be 3 years but the area is still lumpy and unevenly swollen, not totally flat like the other side. My doctor still says it just takes time. Do you know of any ways other than the lymphatic massage and scar massage? Certain exercises? Any tips would be helpful! Thanks so much, I love your videos!

Not yet, but that’s definitely on the list! That and frozen shoulder are pretty common
