Having served on four ships during my 22 years let say Thank You for feeding so many and keeping us happy at sea. Cooks were so often under appreciated and rarely properly recognized and an extremely vital part of the team!
I was on the pre-commissioning unit for CVN-71. Served on her from 1985 until 1988. I have many memories of those times. It's something to see her once again; a real trip down memory lane. I still have my ball cap hanging in my workshop. I sailed with her from the fiords of Norway to the islands of the Caribbean. I was on her when she shrugged off shock trials from 40,000lbs of HE. Someday when they decommission her, I am supposed to get a plank from her deck, but I think she will outlive me as like as not. A great ship.

I was on the Forrestal when we had the fire, was an A4 PC. Back on the Intrepid for a WestPac, line po with A4E planes. Lots more people on the deck with the newer planes, glad to see the Navy is up to the task. Loved working on the flight deck. God be you guys and gals working the deck.

I am very proud to have been the (AZ) AIMD IM-3 to establish the first aeronautical technical publications library on board. I was with her from the beginning, standing fire watches during her construction, manning the rail at her commissioning , shock trials , and then serving aboard for 4 years sailing the world. It was the greatest time of my life and am a better man for having served aboard her. Fair winds and following seas to the T.R and her crew. GO BIG STICK !!

Epic video . I love videos of carrier flight operations . The flight deck of a carrier during flight operations is the most dangerous place in the military other then being under direct fire . It is a tribute to the young men & women that are in most cases only a few years removed from high school .

Fair winds and following seas to the ship & crew of CVN-71. Teddy and the rough riders. I was Navy for 25 years. Four years on Teddy’s cousin, Franklin D. Roosevelt CVA-42. And served in many other warships and shore stations. I’m now retired. Proud of my service & retirement. My Uncle Sam has now fulfilled his promise to care for me after my retirement. 👍😃🛳⛴⚓️

I had the pleasure of Hosting a bunch of the crew from the Theodore Roosevelt in the nightclub I was a manager in Fort Lauderdale Florida when they came to town for Fleet Week they were all gentleman we all had a good time we swapped stuff from my club forr stuff from their boat one of my favorite possessions is my USS Theodore Roosevelt baseball cap so carry on be safe and God bless America

My big salute to the US Navy on board. They work assiduously and get trained periodically to update their skill. The take off and landing of fighters on the moving (CVN-71) Nimitz Class, nuclear powered aircraft carrier is an amazing thing to watch.

I remember when my dad would sail out on the Roosevelt i would stand there and cry as they played garth brooks the river. i was 9 then i think. im 37 now but going aboard and out to see in the 90s was by far one of the most amazing times of my life. R.I.P dad.

All of the Aircraft Carriers are super-carriers in our eyes, and we thank and honor the service men and women who serve on them! We are so proud of all our ships and those who serve on them, as well as ALL servicemen who work to protect and defend our great Country!
