  • In this video, we show you how to change you drive belt on a Polaris atv. This project should take 30 minutes to an hour depending on your skill level and tools. The drive belt on Polaris atvs is the equivalent of a clutch. This particular atv is a Polaris Magnum 330, but all are pretty much the same.

Just a quick note. You always want to install the belt to where you can read the label. They are directional and you will get more life out of your belt. If the label is upside down it’s backwards.

good vid! I will add you should clean the clutch sheaves where the belt rides. its key for good belt grip and simple to do, you can use a scotch brite pad by 3M or any brand. here is how I do it........ with the machine idling in park or neutral, I just hold the abrasive pad against each sheave on the primary clutch with light pressure. it cleans all the old belt residue and glazing off and this allows really good belt grip, less slippage and increased belt life. shut the engine off, and take a clean paper towel that is dampened with plain water and wipe the surfaces, this gets any remaining dust off. done. the secondary clutch sheaves take a bit longer as it's not spinning for you. same pad, just scrub the sheaves, sometimes I spray the pad with Mean Green or some other multi-purpose/degreaser cleaner and follow up with the damp paper towel. I also wash the new belt before it goes on, YES I said I wash the new one! it has belt dust and a oily release agent all over it from the manufacturing process! I wash the new belt in hot water and dish detergent using the scotch brite pad, then rinse and wipe it thoroughly dry and let it air dry for 20 minutes or so, then install. if you don't wash the new belt it starts glazing right out of the gate.

Great Video, Appreciate showing from the very beginning with fender and floor boards removal. Most videos exclude that very important time saving information. THANK YOU

I believe you put the belt on backwards, the Brand and part number should read left to right, I don't know why it would make a difference but the manual says to install it this way. Good Video !!!
