I almost got the nano x when you reviewed it, but money was tight…. Now, I think this will be the upgrade.
Cheers Andrew!
That is a piece of art 👌
its a beautiful thing thats for sure!
I got the 144L version and love it. I’ve done 4 brews in it so far.
Great to hear!
And it’s back. Try and hold onto it this time 😂
hahaha Yes!
Cheers Gash!
Have a great weekend Stass!
does the lid that you screw on at 2:23 comes with the kit? or thats an optional extra?
Nice 👍
Thanks ✌
Cool
Cheers mate!
Nice video! I've been trying to decide between a Nano-X and Brewbuilt.
What made you regret keeping the Cheeky Peak Nano over the Brewbuilt?
My Nano-X V2 the newer ones were supposed to be easier to seal because people kept having issues, the new ones weren't any better unfortunately. The Brewbuilts are finished so much nicer, polished on the inside. Also the 4 inch port on top which is what everyone uses, the nanox was a 3 inch so I had to use adapters all the time. Cheers
@HomeBrewNetwork good insights. Thanks for letting me know.
7 gallon Brewbuilt sounds like it might be the way to go.
Now to decide if I save money on an X1 or get future proofed with an X2 in case I decide to build a glycol system one day 🤣
Yeah.. well.. yeah.. I guess you get a couple of extra ports on the X2 but.. choices.. using in a fridge X1 is just fine.
Is this bettwr than the nano X?
I think it is, its better finished, they'll both do the job, but this is much nicer. Cheers!
How do you like the lids? I found these to be really finicky.
They have been a lot better than other brands I have used! I think they all have a knack to them.. The problem is there isn't a better way at that size. You can't use a triclamp that large under pressure, nowhere near it so, its either make the port much smaller and use a triclamp, or you just have to use something like this. There's not many manufacturers of the clamp device, I think only one main one at the moment, and a lot of the brands use exactly the same ones, I have seen some batches where you have to trim a little off the inner clamp piece if they start touching together so you can tighten it more. Hard to explain which piece. All of mine doesnt matter which brand I get it sealed when sanitising and then just fill through the top port, just stops and stress on brew day. The nano x I use has to have the lid in the same spot and the clamp in the same spot for it work, one of my nanox just doesnt even seal. I haven't had that problem with the brewbuilts yet. Keep in mind they aren't used for high pressures, most are only rated to about 15psi. Cheers!
Do you still like your nano x fermenters? I got one after your initial reviews and it looked great. But I can only ever get 2psi in them. Pretty disappointing. Do these hold pressure better? It looks like the same kind of design.
THis may be a bit like IT-people saying "have you tried restarting?", but...: have you sealed the lid with brewer's grease? My Nano X easily holds 10psi - I haven't tried going higher. The one time it didn't hold pressure above 5psi I just had to reapply grease. Problem solved! (Also: if you cold ferment remember to retighten the TC's as the metal contracts when cooling down). Sorry if this is all very obvious, but I promise you: the Nano X can hold way more than 2psi.
@@DavidB-zi3lg thank you for your reply. I tried keg lube and that helped but didn't solve it. I can't tighten anymore. CP sent me a new clamp and I got another two psi out of it. But yeh, certainly not close to ten.
I have found them, Nano-X hard to seal. My original one seals if I have the lid and locking ring thing in exactly the same spot every time, if I move it around it doesn't seal well. The new ones V2, I have 2, one seals and the other never did, no matter what I did.
@DavidB-zi3lg what version are your Nano-X? I know a lot of people had troubles with the first series, but I managed to get mine to seal with the lid and ring a certain way but the V2 I've had even more trouble with.
@@HomeBrewNetwork Looking at a picture of the V2, I think I must have a V1 as mine does not have adjustable legs. I guess me and my friend who had them shipped to Europe should consider us lucky, then. Would have been annoying to have to ship them back and forth.
