  • George Jones performs "Somebody Wants Me Out Of The Way" live at the Farm Aid concert in Austin, Texas on July 4, 1986. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?

He forgot or was too deep daydreaming about the past, but in my humble opinion, it only reinforces my admiration of the man, he doesn't hide his shortcomings and letdowns, they are all there for the world to see. If he didn't laugh it off, few people will notice, and amongst many other character flaws, he's saying I am just a man who was blessed and cursed, trying to make Sense of it all. We love you possum

In 1986, I made a VCR tape of this concert and soon showed it to a very Dolly Parton built woman I dated. Mary Lou laughed at, " two cheating lovers who love undercover, and the cover they're under is mine "......Well, Mary Lou had a very sexy southern laugh and in many ways more sexy than Dolly. So a part of the song maybe I wouldn't have noticed, well, sexy Mary Lou noticed it and her sexy laugh makes it my favorite part of the song . That day George was good, and Mary Lou was even better.

George mixed up the words at 0.50; "but the more
I keep drinking, the more I keep thinking
There's somebody new in her life"
At 2:20 Gaddis is just moving to George's genius and inspirational rendition.
