Interesting thing I noticed when I was younger, another capcom game: "Breath of Fire 3" features a shady merchant in the town of Syn who speaks very similarly to the Merchant in Re4. Talking pattern, laughs and all. Vanishes after a specific point in the plot and you never find him again. As a result I always held it in my mind that "The Merchant" is an extradimensional being of some kind who carelessly blips between the worlds of capcom, hence why hes always in such a chill mood despite all the zombies and such.
For #7, I read the explanation was that Las Plagas killed their young hosts and in turn themselves before the parasite can fully mature. Can't remember if this was official or not. A few more things maybe people didn't know: - All of the treasure you find can be combined specifically and it makes it more valuable than the individual pieces. - The Chief can be easily defeated with 4 fire bombs, for help you can also find one fire bomb and shoot the oil drum in the barn to damage him. - In normal mode if you kill the merchant he respawns later, but if you kill him in professional mode he is gone forever. - You can hack the map using dipman to avoid the two giants boss fight in the lava chamber - regenerators can be easily defeated by shooting their legs off and using the knife while they're on the ground. It has to be perfectly timed though - Verdugo can be oneshotted if you freeze him and use a rocket launcher - In the final boss fight instead of stressing about shooting Saddler's mutated eyes, if you shoot him with a mine launcher it will stun him giving you the chance to stab his mouth - in the fight with the three knights to get the challis, make sure Ashley stays outside otherwise she will likely die. Also have the black rifle and at least two flashbangs ready for this - When she is a schoolgirl and popstar, Leon can catch Ashley no problem. But when she is a knight the impact sound will be significantly louder and Leon grabs his lower back in pain. - When he has his mob outfit you can make Leon tilt his hat. After 2-3 tilts he dramatically throws it into the air and catches it
1:40 They are not the one pushing the boulder. If you look up directly after the gate, you can see the boulder clearly. The placement of the boulder is different from the bridge. Also, you can kill the 2 ganados on the bridge before you run from the boulder. Just aim upwards from the point near the booby trap signal post, and you can shoot the 2 ganados. Even if you kill them first, the boulder will still chase you.
That's what you cared about? Lame. I could of told you this. Did you also know voice acting is a lazy job, just keep your voice good and you can be as far as possible.
@@z304legend So because he liked something you don't it's bad lmao. Voice actors also carry alot of shows and movies we could never have without voice actors. Family guy, Rick and Morty, etc would never happen lmao.
You can use the knife to block the weapon the villagers trow at you by hitting them. Exposed plagas can be easily killed with a flash bang. In the trap room where you need to hit the 4 lights to stop the ceiling trap, you can disable the trap before you enter the room by shooting them. If a enemy knock you down near Ashley she will call you a pervert if you Leon land with his head under her. The spider type plaga can exit the host and walk around if pass thru a door and close it or climb a ladder it will not be able to get to you and it will die after some time due not having a host. If you don't use the rocket launcher that Ada gives you to defeat the boss you can keep her for your next game and you can save it to kill the last boss on the start of the fight. Enemies take fall damage if you wait in the top of a ladder for they to climb them hit them with the knife they will fall, after some falls they will die.
you can easily kill the last boss by hitting him with a mine this will make him vulnerable and then hit him with a rocket launcher (the one you buy) if you equip the last shotgun then aim and open the menu before the red dof appears you will cause a speed glitch where every movement is faster and it last until you open the menu or a cutscene you can el gigante by shotting him enough time and when the plaga shows up instead of shooting you can go near him and trigger an action where you use the knife on the plaga regenerator can be killed without the termal scope you just have to be lucky and hit the right spot
All these years later RE4 is still as mysterious and the soundtrack is a classic it adds to the bleak mood. If the remake is real, I hope they keep the grey/brown ambiance of the OG version. Tbh the GameCube version is as most say the best despite not having all the extra content of later. Such a wild ride and still my favorite in the series.
Fact #32 may be used as the expanded role for both Luis and The Merchant since in the rumors/leaks in the remake they would have expanded roles and the relationship between the 2 could be a viable idea
This video is old but there is a cool hidden feature! In the mercenaries mode, you can click secret button combinations before playing as Leon or Ada so you can change their outfits, you can play as mafia leon or the assignment ada. Pretty cool.
I thought you were trolling but holy shit you're right! That blows my mind. I thought Steve Blum was the voice of Krauser with how much he sounded like him.
About 5 years ago I created a RE 4 movie as well. It's pretty much the whole game including play, including Ada, and different camera angles, cut down to a normal film time. It's on my channel.

Too many times? I've accidentally shot Louis once (Yes, JUST ONCE) because he suddenly run in front of enemy... and he suddenly shot Leon to death. This is why I don't feel sad at all when he died.
About the censored decapitation and secret deaths, Dr.Salvador (Chainsaw Man) and the Bella Sisters both have an alternate, faster attack, that will trigger a different and slower death animation on Leon, it is the same japanese censored death animation, but it will decapitate Leon, to trigger this attack you simply have to walk by their right hand side or stun and kick them, and stay too close to them when they stand back up, it is kinda random though, but it's the best method to trigger it.
That super bomber ganado seems to have been reworked into Forest Speyer from RE Remake in the gameplay mode "One Dangerous Zombie" where attacking him will end the game killing you.

Thank you for mentioning *La Femme Nikita* though after following both characters, Capcom completely lifted the complex of Nikita for Ada. As both characters worked for the government, specialize in espionage, and sought to eliminate their organization out of morality. This really pushed the spiritual succession of the *femme fatale* concept in media, as to why we’re seeing more confident women take the scene in films like Batman or James Bond. If you want to see more women like Ada: Jane Smith (Mr. and Mrs. Smith) Catwoman (Batman Returns) Satchel, double spy (Atomic Blonde) Black Widow (Winter Soldier) Wai Lin (Tomorrow Never Dies) Jinx (Die Another Day) Nikita Mears (Nikita series) Operating between fine lines of emotion and profession behind the veil is where these femme fatales lie.
@@TheSoulCrisis From James Bond, Sin City, and even the Avengers, when a beautiful dame enters the scene; the game has begun. Eva Green as Vesper Lynd however, in 2006’s James Bond’s Casino Royale, is pure cinematic surreality of the ill-fated female in modern cinema!
There was this version, I think it was an early build, that you could enter the first house to the left when entering the Village. That house is open on mercenaries Mode, but its closed on the campaign. Im sure, because at that time, I was a child, and I was so afraid of the decapitation that I broke the CD, and didnt even finish the game nor played mercenaries
3:51 THERE IS NO WAY THIS CUTSCENE IS SECRET!!! I found it immediately after my first vr play through which was my first resident evil play through also nice video
😂Maybe louis moustache was gone because when there was cut scene where Leon meet Louis. Leon pulled that tape very really hard that took out Louis moustache also.🤣
Did you know there are around 1040 enemies in the game but the counter caps at 999 also some rooms can be reloaded to infinity respawn enemies. You can respawn enemies to farm unlimited ammo like the boss room with Salazar the spiders infinity respawn and normally only take one shot to kill and can drop ammo.
I tried but spiders didnt drop anything after a certain number of kills, and i got 1024 kills in expert mode, still showed 1024 (i played remastered ps2 version)
My brother has noticed one more interesting fact! Leon comes to the village in a warm jacket with a fur collar. But after he had been captured, we saw him without that jacket. So where is it? Later, when Leon gets free, he meets a group of Ganados, and one of that Ganados is wearing Leon's jacket😁. We can kill that Ganado, but unfortunately, it's impossible to take that jacket back... 😬😬😬
I don't actually think the two Ganados on the bridge are among the ones who pushed down the boulder. They are too far away from the spot where the boulder was, and I also sometimes hear Don Manuel make a sound when he's about to throw his axe while Leon is running from the boulder and I hear the axe flying shortly after.
I remember ages ago they found a mysterious man in green and red when they zoomed in during the fight with Saddler. They said it was the last thing they found. If you listen carefully the soliders scream Ricky, and then some say Appltin. Could this be Ricky Appltin?
This game on Oculus is outstanding, there's just something so special about blading a villager to death while simultaneously weilding a shotgun and shooting another villagers face off at the same time! Or having a pistol in one hand and an smg in the other and just going buck wild! It's just an unrivaled experience that even words can't do proper justice in regards to how much fun it is on VR.
Right when I thought I knew everything there was to know about my favorite game ever made... You came and proved me wrong! Good stuff man! There were some things in here that I had never heard before. It's awesome to see that RE4 still gets praise even today!
Also... Re4 was intended to be RE3. But capcom wanted to end the PS1 games in a trilogy and RE4 development was still in it's concept phase, so they picked up last mission, wich was a spin off related to the Raccoon incident (i don't know if Jill was originally part of it), and made it bigger , then turned it into RE3. And no. Code Veronica was never intended to be RE3. It was always a spin off like Last Mission. There is an interview where devs said they were told to finish Code veronica before RE3. CV came out 1 year later after the Actual RE3 and they never said they had to delay it or anyhing. Kamiya once was speaking about his experience at capcom and at some point mentioned that time he worked on Bio3... He never worked on CV or Last Mission. RE3 was intended to be the game Hideki Kamiya was working on that ended up being Devil May Cry. The difficulty balance is way less used in professional. Enemy spawns and reaction times are not affected, I can only confirm the merchant may sell you a spray if you are low on health items.
I think it would be cool if they add some of those scrap enemies in the remake like in professional mode or higher difficulty. I don't know, there's something about scrap enemies that I like and always hope they appear in remakes or in a different mode.
The Kamazaze Ganado I'd say was in the castle & was a mode like the Exploding Bravo Team member Forrest in RE1 Remake. Oddly enough I have both versions of the chainsaw controller...is not comfortable at all to hold lol
Since the merchant gains red eyes later in the game (proving that he has a plaga inside of him), I’d assume that since he doesn’t attack Leon at all also proves that he can control the plaga

I remember finding the zombie dogs after the Del Lago fight. The first time I found that scene I was too scared to carry on playing, and I had to get my friend to continue for me😂
Same dude over the years on my later play throughs ive always avoided that location due to the trauma. I consider it to be the scariest scene in the game after the regenerators
You're so right. I also avoid that area altogether. The maze still takes me about half an hour to get through because of how badly it scared me when I was younger😂@@rahimali4048
The most unrealistic part of the game is that neither Leon or Louis grew facial hair the entire time they were shown. Most men will at least have noticeable facial hair after three days.
Leon destroyed the village, casttle and island in less than 24 hours. RIP Los Illuminados. And they tried to take over the world with axes and morning stars.
11:07 = Maybe it's been later patched, because in the HD version, at least, it was not easy timing the slices so that Krauser gets trapped. It took me dozens of tries. It was, of course, still easier than drudging through all the QTEs and whatnot, but in the end, I didn't even manage to finish him with he knife. Obviously, I'm talking about Professional difficulty.
It still works, but the thing that makes it harder is the fact the game runs at 60FPS. A *lot* of things are “broken” by 60FPS, and the game is generally harder because of it. Some of the Quick Time Events are far more strict, requiring you to mash far faster than is comfortable, and enemies become aggressive and attack much sooner.
The cutscene with the dogs _might_ be their official introduction, given that there are no cutscenes centred around them besides this one. Then again, the game points you towards the waterfall, so you’d have to backtrack to see it. Not entirely sure what capcom wanted players to do once the chapter started.

there's a part where you take some lift thing across a ravine... when you get to the other side, the merchant is there... but he was also on the other side... if you look through the rifle scope, you can see him on the other side of the ravine while you're standing next to the second one.
The red herb one took me a couple playthroughs to discover it. The lastest discovery I found are those beetles on trees that are hidden throughout the game
You mean the nests?
really? that's because people tend to not explore, even a minimum, a game. found the red herb and Ganados up on the bridge after they throw you the first boulder at my first playthrough.
@@thegamewin100 No, beetles insects for real. Remember after you fight U-3, in that area, just close to the ladder which leads you in next area, there's a lamp in the wall with one of the beetles you can see in the game, when you get close, it will fly away.

4:35 Now that you point it out I can definitely hear Ashley and Sandy being the same person
Seeing Ashley suplex had me dead lmao
the remake is coming up and now i understand with the "New" Ashley's outfit on the remake. which actually the original one. i see now
I swear when I was able to suplex 2:12 with Ashly on the game cube made my day
"In the Gamecube version of Resident Evil 4. There's a glitch that allows Ashley to do the 'SaPlex' technique."
At least someone else pointed this out. How do you pronounce suplex as "suh-plecks"? Google would give the correct pronunciation
What I find really awesome about the scrapped Ashley design is that it seems that she is using that outfit in the RE4 Remake trailer.
My man! Kaiser gene plus the Failure gene, am I right?
They are not of the same race nor got any relation to one and another whatsoever.
For #7, I read the explanation was that Las Plagas killed their young hosts and in turn themselves before the parasite can fully mature. Can't remember if this was official or not.
A few more things maybe people didn't know:
- All of the treasure you find can be combined specifically and it makes it more valuable than the individual pieces.
- The Chief can be easily defeated with 4 fire bombs, for help you can also find one fire bomb and shoot the oil drum in the barn to damage him.
- In normal mode if you kill the merchant he respawns later, but if you kill him in professional mode he is gone forever.
- You can hack the map using dipman to avoid the two giants boss fight in the lava chamber
- regenerators can be easily defeated by shooting their legs off and using the knife while they're on the ground. It has to be perfectly timed though
- Verdugo can be oneshotted if you freeze him and use a rocket launcher
- In the final boss fight instead of stressing about shooting Saddler's mutated eyes, if you shoot him with a mine launcher it will stun him giving you the chance to stab his mouth
- in the fight with the three knights to get the challis, make sure Ashley stays outside otherwise she will likely die. Also have the black rifle and at least two flashbangs ready for this
- When she is a schoolgirl and popstar, Leon can catch Ashley no problem.
I would've love to see the parasite woman in the game, she does looks disturbing, kinda reminds me to Laura from The Evil Within. Great video 👍
Shinji Mikami actually was part of development team of both games. Guess that's where he took Laura's inspiration.
Thought the exact same thing
It would only be possible in the remake, though. Resident Evil 4 has been released at least ten years earlier.
Capcom: why did u remove decapitation in our game?

FAM....I LEARNT SOMETHING NEW ABOUT ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES EVER MADE. I DIDNT KNOW ASHLEY WAS VOICED BY THE SANDY CHEEKS VOICE ACTRESS
That's what you cared about? Lame. I could of told you this. Did you also know voice acting is a lazy job, just keep your voice good and you can be as far as possible.
This game is shit buddy
Probably the only thing in here that wasnt known... but this is common with video game voice actors
@@z304legend So because he liked something you don't it's bad lmao. Voice actors also carry alot of shows and movies we could never have without voice actors. Family guy, Rick and Morty, etc would never happen lmao.
I also know something: If you try to shoot at Mike's helicopter on the Island, Mike will respond by asking Leon "are you crazy?".

@@nerd6000 "After the deed is done, everybody knows how to do it"

you can easily kill the last boss by hitting him with a mine this will make him vulnerable and then hit him with a rocket launcher (the one you buy)
if you equip the last shotgun then aim and open the menu before the red dof appears you will cause a speed glitch where every movement is faster and it last until you open the menu or a cutscene
you can el gigante by shotting him enough time and when the plaga shows up instead of shooting you can go near him and trigger an action where you use the knife on the plaga
regenerator can be killed without the termal scope you just have to be lucky and hit the right spot
10:42 the Chicago typewriter can be purchased and used in the mobile version
All these years later RE4 is still as mysterious and the soundtrack is a classic it adds to the bleak mood. If the remake is real, I hope they keep the grey/brown ambiance of the OG version. Tbh the GameCube version is as most say the best despite not having all the extra content of later. Such a wild ride and still my favorite in the series.

That’s cool to see Ashley’s original idea for clothes is now in the RE4 remake
Why would they take out Ashley’s supplex taken out? It’s amazing. I always knew Ashley was hiding her true strength.
1:35 dang Ashley not useless tho 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Fact #32 may be used as the expanded role for both Luis and The Merchant since in the rumors/leaks in the remake they would have expanded roles and the relationship between the 2 could be a viable idea
This video is old but there is a cool hidden feature!
In the mercenaries mode, you can click secret button combinations before playing as Leon or Ada so you can change their outfits, you can play as mafia leon or the assignment ada. Pretty cool.
Oooo good find! I had no idea about this!
Did you know the voice actor of Krauser is the same voice actor of Captain Qwark from Ratchet and Clank?
Also, Krauser is currently the only character to have had the same voice actor in all of his appearances.
I thought you were trolling but holy shit you're right! That blows my mind. I thought Steve Blum was the voice of Krauser with how much he sounded like him.
Because it's 17 years old, RE4 can now purchase a copy of RE4 and then some, without a parent or guardian present
Also, Luis' Bottlecap still has the moustache. And I would have really liked for Luis to be playable in The Mercenaries instead on H.U.N.K
And it was 😅
10:56 It's nice to see that the devs used the og beta version of Ashley in the remake
About 5 years ago I created a RE 4 movie as well. It's pretty much the whole game including play, including Ada, and different camera angles, cut down to a normal film time. It's on my channel.
Thanks for pointing out the censorship in the VR release. Lots of people were shilling it and making excuses for the censorship. Censorship of art is always wrong, period.
Nothing artistic about sexism, I'm glad Capcom learns from their mistakes
@@viniciusyugulis7278 I know your dad was like thirteen when the game came out and therefore you don't know how wrong you are about the game being sexist, but you should probably still be quiet until your brain finishes developing just to be safe.
@@Snottle1 sexist jokes shouldn't have been part of RE4, they're vile and disgusting, like that random Luis comment about Ashley's breast, is just yikes.

Ashley body slamming an enemy is the most hysterical thing I’ve ever seen in my life
I never knew about the lack of Mercenaries in Germany.
I remember hearing it was because of the objective of the mode being to kill for points, so I guess it was too violent or unjustified lol
As a player who has purchased resident evil 4 on the ps2, ps3 , ps4 , Oculus quest 2 and played through the campaign and extras multiple times, I still didn’t even know more than half of these tips , what an amazing video.
Number 9, those molotovs are grenades in the VR version found this out myself.
Ashley's Beta suit actually makes her look more aristocratic which suits her well being the President's daughter and all.
Too many times? I've accidentally shot Louis once (Yes, JUST ONCE) because he suddenly run in front of enemy... and he suddenly shot Leon to death. This is why I don't feel sad at all when he died.
I was so convinced I wasn't gonna learn anything new, but I did - good work man, this was a nice video.
I know I am very very extremely late to the party but, I just can't fucking believe that Ingrid Hunnigan 4:55 have a full character model for over 19 years!!!... Which is honestly very very unbelievable, but anyways I am so glad that they finally showed her full character model today so that I can compare the Remake version to this one...

According to the lore, Leon and Krauser were actually gay lovers at one point.

No, no, no.
Leon is very, very effeminate.
I doubt he would make a good boyfriend, But he surely would make a good girlfriend.
11:39 Luis looks like Jetstream Sam. Even sounds a bit like him.

7:14 Convicted felon, who turned spy, who fell in love.
So . . . It's Ada.
Been playing this game since I was 14 yrs old, and now I'm 30 yrs old and I'm still digging it. 😆
If you want to see more women like Ada:
Jane Smith (Mr. and Mrs. Smith)
Catwoman (Batman Returns)
Satchel, double spy (Atomic Blonde)
Black Widow (Winter Soldier)
Wai Lin (Tomorrow Never Dies)
Jinx (Die Another Day)
Nikita Mears (Nikita series)
Operating between fine lines of emotion and profession behind the veil is where these femme fatales lie.
Just make me a sandwich and shut up!
Ada come with me
Yeeesss I love those character archetypes!

where exactly, what location?
@@warhouse634 village of course. You can meet this group of Ganados soon after escaping from captivity.
#10 always freaks me out. Went back that way by accident and when that cutscene played out I knew I was paying for my mistake lol
Side fact: one of the early cut beta versions of Resident Evil 4 was reworked and turned into Haunting Ground.
10:50 if you mod the Tommy Gun to have a ammo limit, the purple ammo will be used for it (and spawn).
I think it would be cool if they add some of those scrap enemies in the remake like in professional mode or higher difficulty. I don't know, there's something about scrap enemies that I like and always hope they appear in remakes or in a different mode.
All right, you win. I thought I knew everything about this game but this video proved otherwise. Good job.
The Kamazaze Ganado I'd say was in the castle & was a mode like the Exploding Bravo Team member Forrest in RE1 Remake. Oddly enough I have both versions of the chainsaw controller...is not comfortable at all to hold lol
I could see the Kamikaze Ganado being one of the special enemies in The Mercenaries.
I was 10 when this came out and played it non-stop. I previously purchased on PS4 and have completed it already. it was nostalgic as f. Great game!!!
Ashley is Sandy Cheeks?! My mind has officially been blown
Since the merchant gains red eyes later in the game (proving that he has a plaga inside of him), I’d assume that since he doesn’t attack Leon at all also proves that he can control the plaga
The Merchant's greed overpowers the Plagas control.
10:59 well shit. Now it’s going to be on the remake
After completing it 80+ times in all difficulties and modes, I didn't know about playing as Wesker in the main story.. dang! I thought I knew it all.
You can't play as wesker in the main story the way the video explained it that way has been fixed in the ps2 version just tried it but I do have a code break rom I use with my ps2 emulator that has character modifier codes to play as ashley ada hunk krouser and wesker it does no good to play as Ashley though because she can't use weapons and if you go into the house where the guy is burning something she gets stuck in there and can't get out you have to to skip the hunnigan transmissions when playing as wesker or the game will crash

And they tried to take over the world with axes and morning stars.
even after 17 years of release, RE4 still has a lot of new stuff
The silencer might be included in the remake since there's some stealth.
I'll have to try that Wesker thing,.. I discovered some of the rest myself but still Great Video Man! 👍👍
Don't bother, he didn’t mention that it's been patched out post-GameCube
Old pc port only
