It's interesting how Electric Callboy is considered modern and Asking Alexandria is considered OG, when there's only 4 years between their inception. I think of the two as being from the same era.
That might be the case when we only look at the "Sushi" era of Electric Callboy, where they pretty much did the usual emo or metal core stuff, but after the arrival of Nico they changed. I don't think that is the same kind of music how Asking Alexandria did.

Honestly, og metalcore as a whole. I still fuck with modern metalcore, but even then, I feel like modern metalcore isn’t just metalcore anymore. There’s more sub genres within metalcore sounds now then ever. Imo
BFMV TDWP Polaris Alpha Wolf Allt. Imminence Parkway Drive Converge (only bc no KL without converge) Asking Alexandria Spiritbox Classic doesn't always mean better either.
Human Abstract, even though the sound of the record was a little compressed, Digital Veil was stuck on repeat, and still is a top favorite when it comes to artistic song writing. Plus they had Travis from FFTL, which made the experience a good follow up to the departure of Nick. As long as AJ was involved the band the balance was restored.
OG MC 3-7 Modern MC Wage War beats BFMV (I just don't get on with BFMV) Currents beats TDWP Polaris beats A7X Trivium beats Alpha Wolf every day of the week Allt over The Human Abstract Imminence beats Darkest Hour Make Them Suffer beats Parkway Drive (MTS are just so sick) Knocked Loose beats Converge (This one could go either way) Asking Alexandria beats Electric Callboy KSE beats Spiritbox (sorry, Spiritbox are great, but KSE are massive) Modeeeeern metalcooooore. I need a The Human Abstract reunion in my life so bad 🥺. They put out 2 absolute banger albums (and MIDheaven) and then just let us wanting more for 13+ years. Appreciate you giving Darkest Hour their flowers. I love that band. So consistent, but they're not a band that does well in a format like this. I think you just need to sit down and listen to n Undoing Ruin in it's entirety or Deliver Us in its entirety to appreciate them. Killswitch vs Spiritbox is brutal 😭 I love them both. But KsE is the band that basically created OG metalcore, Alive or Just Breathing to The End of Heartache to As Daylight Dies, for me, is the greatest 3 album run in the history of metalcore.
Yo wtf? Electric callboy is in an OG metalcore band? Not with Niko but with Sushi. They had an EP out at the same time askings debut album came out and the Bury Me in Vegas album that had the controversial song Is Anyone Up about the revenge p site on it. Just because electric callboy changed their name recently doesnt mean Eskimo Callboy wasn't an OG band. Disappointment. Also if you take AA's first 2 albums and nothing else, they helped defined the scene as annoying as Danny's egotistical bragging is, it's true. But they also got a lot of their sound from Joey Sturgis' influence.
Like whatever u like, but calling BFMV went buttrock, is just kind of ignorant to Venom and their latest record? I can get why ppl stopped listening when Temper Temper dropped, but pls stop judging all of their stuff since then as if they didnt change again. Indeed Gravity is something weird, but Venom and Bullet For My Valentine include some absolute Metalcore bangers Imo and are far away from buttrock :D
My chocies for this list 1. Bullet for My Valentine (not close) 2. Currents (not close) 3. Polaris 4. Trivium (not close) 5. Allt 6. Darkest Hour (very close though) 7. Honestly don't like either 8. I feel like this is what degenerates listen too... 9. Asking Alexandria 10. Honestly tied ... I knows its Heresy ... But Spiritbox is dope... Esp.. Jaded
Bullet For My Valentine VS Wage War: My two cents on these, it's tough going up against BFMV, but it's hard to to outright say they had a bad album, only you would hate it because of the genre switches between some records. I love Wage War all the same, but I have to give it to BFMV. The Devil Wears Prada VS Currents: TDWP. Sorry, Currents, but you can't ignore the newer material. Avenged Sevenfold VS Polaris: Easy. Polaris. I love A7X, but compared to the other, it has to be Polaris. Trivium VS Alpha Wolf: Love me some Trivium, but Alpha Wolf just slaps. The Human Abstract VS Allt: I don't know enough of these bands, but going off the brief snipets here, I'm going with Allt. Darkest Hour VS Imminence: Tie. Those bands are great at what they do. Parkway Drive VS Make Them Suffer: Make Them Suffer. Granted, two different styles and I've liked what I've heard of PWD, but yeah, Make Them Suffer. Converge VS Knocked Loose: Wasn't a huge fan of Knocked Loose (for some reason Bryan's vocals were grating on me), but that new album 👌 Asking Alexandria VS Electric Callboy: Now this one I will call you out. The new AA has been great, so leave that "they influenced Crabcore" at the side when you're saying to judge the whole band. However, this one is a tie for me as I also really like EC. Killswitch Engage VS Spiritbox: And this one was a tough one because I really liked KSE, but Spiritbox has just been killing it lately. So, in this case, OG 3 vs Modern at 8. Don't get me wrong, I really started getting into music during the 2000s, but some groups lately. And when a band goes for long enough, they can seriously change, some for the better, and others either not so great or more for an acquired taste (or being in the right mood **cough cough** A7X's Life's But A Dream **cough cough**)
I have never heard anyone say that the band went downhill after city of evil. 😂 5:00 Since the Rev was responsible for the most iconic album and music videos from that era because he wrote most of those bangers from the white album, that got people into the band. 🤫 Critical Acclaim Afterlife Little piece of Heaven Almost easy Gunslinger. I bet you the band would not be where they are at without the white album. 🫡 We also can’t forget about the LBC live album that is considered to be one of the best filmed live performances, ever in metal/rock. The white album songs made that live performance perfect. 🤯

The last battle is so intensing whoooa.. i love them both..
Putting TDWP against Currents should be criminal
Why?
Asking not winning is criminal.
The band was never good to begin with. Stand Up and Scream was an overly formulaic spin on Plagues by TDWP.
Still rocking to bands like Adept Bullet As Blood Runs Black always running in the playlist at the gym
New school but the good new school. Shout out Ephyra records shout out Balmora.
Real
Asking Alexandria is what got me into heavier music my friends didnt understand
Honestly, og metalcore as a whole.
I still fuck with modern metalcore, but even then, I feel like modern metalcore isn’t just metalcore anymore. There’s more sub genres within metalcore sounds now then ever. Imo
BFMV
TDWP
Polaris
Alpha Wolf
Allt.
Imminence
Parkway Drive
Converge (only bc no KL without converge)
Asking Alexandria
Spiritbox
Classic doesn't always mean better either.
My god not giving the last one to killswitch is blasphemy they literally are metalcore sabbath
Killswitch engage is the best metalcore band
Can't wait to see who will challenge As I Lay Dying in Part 2
And the comments
Human Abstract, even though the sound of the record was a little compressed, Digital Veil was stuck on repeat, and still is a top favorite when it comes to artistic song writing. Plus they had Travis from FFTL, which made the experience a good follow up to the departure of Nick. As long as AJ was involved the band the balance was restored.
I think Killswitch pre-guitar hero lll A+
Digital veil is my favorite album of all time
As much as I love spiritbox, there is no way they beat killswitch. They aren't the og goat. They are just the goat.
TDWP vs Currents was a struggle for me because those are two of my main influences with my music today 😭😭😭
I'll admit it. Killswitch didn't engaged me 🙃
Same
Same… somehow i got into bullet and a7x but not kse 😅
@@henryt9731 We are in the same situation then 😸
@@henryt9731KSE’s old stuff is incredible. That album with my curse on it might be the best metalcore album ever.
Converge and knocked loose giving me nostalgic as i lay duying
I love this. Found alot of bands
Saw knocked loose open for slipknot a few weeks ago. Never heard of them prior to the concert but they put on one hell of a show
OG MC 3-7 Modern MC
Wage War beats BFMV (I just don't get on with BFMV)
Currents beats TDWP
Polaris beats A7X
Trivium beats Alpha Wolf every day of the week
Allt over The Human Abstract
Imminence beats Darkest Hour
Make Them Suffer beats Parkway Drive (MTS are just so sick)
Knocked Loose beats Converge (This one could go either way)
Asking Alexandria beats Electric Callboy
KSE beats Spiritbox (sorry, Spiritbox are great, but KSE are massive)
Modeeeeern metalcooooore. That being said 'As Daylight Dies' is one my favourite albums, ever.
Well that was fun guys 💚🥳☯️🖤🎶
For me easily it has to be
BFMV
Currents
A7X
Human Abstract
Knocked Loose
Electric Callboy
Killswitch Engage
babe wakeup new metalbirb upload
Not having Bleed From Within here is CRIMINAL
Ooohh a guy said bonus "all that remains vs architects" thats dope
I want THA to come back so badly. And Darkest Hour Undoing Ruin is the GOAT imo
Say what you want, electric callboy is fucking SICK!! Cant wait for their next album
I f**king love knocked loose bro, but put then over Converge just a blasphemy
Just beat them for me by the tiniest little fraction atm
My chocies for this list
1. Bullet for My Valentine (not close)
2. Currents (not close)
3. Polaris
4. Trivium (not close)
5. Allt
6. Darkest Hour (very close though)
7. Honestly don't like either
8. I feel like this is what degenerates listen too...
9. Asking Alexandria
Converge VS Knocked Loose: Wasn't a huge fan of Knocked Loose (for some reason Bryan's vocals were grating on me), but that new album 👌
Asking Alexandria VS Electric Callboy: Now this one I will call you out.
Since the Rev was responsible for the most iconic album and music videos from that era because he wrote most of those bangers from the white album, that got people into the band. 🤫
Critical Acclaim
Afterlife
Little piece of Heaven
Almost easy
Gunslinger.
I bet you the band would not be where they are at without the white album. 🫡
We also can’t forget about the LBC live album that is considered to be one of the best filmed live performances, ever in metal/rock.
The white album songs made that live performance perfect. 🤯
It seemed back in the day, every band was trying to be Devil Wears Prada
Well they are the OG crabcore band
This is very difficult haha
Bullet For My Valentine
Currents
Polaris (since A7x I don't consider them completely metalcore despite the album Waking the Fallen or maybe Nightmare)
Trivium
Imminence
Parkwey Drive
Converge
Asking Alexadria
Spiritbox
Yeah A7X really only have one metalcore album so absolutely a fair point
OG blows the doors off modern metalcore IMO, hands down. I would say the opposite is true of deathcore, which is quite interesting to think about.
Man thats devil wears prada song sounds just like OG of mice and men
Bullet for my valentine win, but wage war is a great band, the first and second albums are MASTERPIECE
TDWP or CURRENTS, i cant choose, im a fan of both
Polaris win
Alpha Wolf win
Allt win
Imminence win
Make them Suffer win
Knocked Loose win
Asking Alexendria win
Killswitch engage win but Spiritbox is a great band also
Noooooo wayyyyyy parkway drive and kse are the best metalcore i cant stop listening to them since almost 20 years but modern metalcore you will listen few weeks than u get bored...
Trivium wins this entire competition! Can't decide between tdwp and currents! Love them both! Asking alexandria destroys electric callboy! Not even close!
Killswitch is THE metalcore band man 😭
