Lions generally hunt from the back or side. They spring and latch on with fangs and claws. The prey is knocked over, the lions don't release their grip on the prey's head or neck. The prey suffocates or suffers a broken neck. You wouldn't generally have advance notice. Depending on the force and how you were bitten, you might not be able to even reach your weapon. I carry too, but weapons are sometimes ineffective. But look on the bright side, unlike a bear, lions wait 'til you're dead to start eating.
@@oneskydog6768 Mountain Lions don't 'euthanize people', Democrats do that, with abortion & end of life euthanasia. Mountain Lions, just hunt & eat. If it's a tough year, like resources, and you go out on a trail alone, expect that nature may take it's course, and prepare accordingly.
@@oneskydog6768 I think it’s something you have to deal with when you go into the wilderness. Humans shouldn’t control nature, it never ends well. The man won, and the Mountain Lion most likely learned it’s lesson after getting hit in the head with a rock. Nothing more to do.
He’s going back in the canyon after that?? I hope he brings something to protect himself! Even pepper spray that can go 10 feet and hurt their eyes too badly to attack
When your old and stupid you never think anything will ever happen to you. I take my military K9 with me on any walk, but then I am armed as well. Make lots of noise while your walking and be ready to deal with what arises.
I met a cougar at a bar and ended up having a kid with it
Wasn't your kid, it was mine and you know it
That is funny. You are talking about doing it to a lady because the are sometimes called cougars. Lol. You’re a funny guy.
Good guy glad he’s alright
This is why whenever I go hiking I always carry my hand gun
Bear spray is far for effective if kept accessable
Sure you do, a daisy red ryder hand gun I bet.

John Hick over here
Me too
Stay away from bars late at night
That's why I always hike with Navy Seals
Wahahaha
I’m so glad they weren’t able to euthanize it!
I am sure you think it is ok for the poor Mountian Lion to euthanize people.
There's plenty of hunters going after it, they'll get it. I think I'll go shoot one too just because of your ignorant comment. It could have been a child and may well be next time you dumb f∆©£.
They've been encroached on so much, there's nowhere left for them to go.

Where was his heavy hiking staff? Where was his pistol? Anyone who hikes in cougar territory without protection is asking for trouble.
Wow. Close call. Cary bear spay and other items when hicking.
Carry and Hiking, next time don't skip 3rd grade Spelling
He meant bring Cary the cowboy (hick) so, you are wrong.

run kitty run
And another good reason to hike, bike or boat with a buddy.
His injuries are from falling down cliff. Show me a video.
Sounds like this man doesn’t prepare for things properly
At 70 who does…🥱🤓
The dude was shed hunting during the closure. Poacher!!! That mountain lion attach is simply karma at its finest.
been a hard winter...... they're hungry or threatened ..... just bought a should harness for when i trail run... hate the added weight. oh well.
Hope he brings a pistol with him next time
He was “blindsided” by it. You think a gun would have helped? Lol get real.
Arrest that cat
You’re knowingly in the cats territory. You think you might want to carry a knife or something in case this mess happens!
I'd be carrying a few weapons and even that doesn't guarantee safety
Pfft...Who hasn't survived a cougar attack? It can be hard to tell if they're lesbian 🤷♂️
Carry next time.

@@dmcg2511 after he was knocked down he wouldn't of had to grab a rock ! Lol really !
If we just ban guns these attacks will stop.
Dayum…That would be a tiktok hit if it was recorded. Glad dude is ok.
