This song is such a feat of strength and intensity while losing none of its artistic brilliance (ahem, heavy metal pay notice). I've seen performers scream their heart out, break bottles, hurt themselves on stage but I've never been worried about a performer in a show until I saw Dawson. And he hadn't even played this song (I almost felt bad afterwards for asking him to play it). Nonetheless, keep being strong and amazing Richard :)
he is playing this guitar like he was born with it and through magic it could communicate with he and just before the show they pissed eachother off and they were just having an argument for 14 minuts, kind of
This must be my 30th time playing this and had to comment, you are very talented good sir! This sound is so fantastic I don't really have words to describe it..DO NOT STOP!
I was told off by Richard for singing along too loud at one of his performances after drinking a couple too many drops of the vile stuff, had some banter with hen ogledd at green man though so if you read this my man know its the same guy, and I'm getting a similar passion out on the piano these days through Jazz of all things, getting there with guitar but you rule those strings xx
I assume this is an anti-drinking song... but damn.. there is no way in hell this man is sober delivering this message and I like it. Edit: Not only do I assume the vile stuff.. I assume some sugar as well; this man is mad when performing and it is wonderful.. Regardless if he is sober, fucked up, or half fucked up.... I can't tell the difference but it is still awesome, and by the way I am the 2nd option.
bloody hell, I thought this kind of intensity had left the earth a long time ago
this just made me cry in costa coffee Long Eaton just outside Nottingham
That's where I'm from. Of all the comments sections in all the world, you end up in the one I bother to read.
this comment sounds like a richard dawson lyric lol
@@preost5800 Ha ha.

His guitar playing is incredible, and truly unique. One of my favorite artists working right now.
I agree - he is a brilliant guitar player. Well - just a brilliant musician. He knows what music's for. New album out soon - and we need it..
Honestly just one of the best performances I've ever seen. He's fucking magnificent.
The absolute raw emotion of this performance is mesmerising
Best version of one of the greatest bits of music ever written.
Absolute facts, this song is a high point in human history.
This is the kind of song where the best version depends on my mood.
I have like 3 best versions so far, depending

Eugene Chadbourne and the great Derek have returned in a new avatar.
Holy shit. I love myself some sinister wonk. Right up my askew grubby little alley.
This guy should be playing for thousands, this world is so wrong. And why have I only just heard of him now?!?
This song immerses you in a special state, a kind of meditation.
I'm thinking of moving to a Buddhist monastery in Halifax
I fucking love this!!
So cathartic and unexplainable
6:55 :O
This would be my perfect blind date gig.
Genius is a close neighbour to madness. Some will call Dawson mad; I call him genius.

Perfect
The beginning reminds me a bit of Jimmy Page’s white summer. Anyone know the tuning?

There are two kinds of music
Good music and bad music
Just good stuff

Well he used to work behind the bar at The Bodega.
@@physicsparty8963 What's The Bodega?

"MacBuke" - Richard Dawson, The Vile Stuff.
Beefheartian.

That's what I thought, and I don't make that comparison lightly. at my age.
Ill take this over any top ten garbage that’s out there all day.
It's the start of an ancient Chinese folksong called "Tu-ning".
