If people are discriminated against, and to combat that you decide to go for a colourblind approach to hiring, the people that have been discriminated against historically will be left behind, because the system previously put them behind and nothing has been done to bring them back to the frint again.

And, they actually are decent ideas. The points he was targeting are forcing unqualified people into jobs due to DEI initiatives forcing businesses to meet certain diversity quotas. Which is why they were both targeted, the first one because it gets used to force employers to hire specific groups of people in spite of the fact they can’t do that when said group doesn’t possess the amount of valuable workers that the quotas require. And the second one, there’s no problem with the first part of the act, the second part on the other hand, is definitely a problem at this point. The original act made discrimination illegal, the second part forced people to hire minorities even if they weren’t qualified, which is why the first point she brought up is getting targeted, it makes it possible to target companies who can’t feasibly reach the minority quota, this causes the hiring of minorities despite the fact they probably don’t have enough of each minority group in a field of work. This causes people from non minority groups to look down on minorities, as it gives people the opinion that people of that minority don’t need to try as hard to get a job(which can be true depending on the circumstances).
Removing these *WILL NOT* cause racism to bolster, as companies internal structure is quite easy to be leaked to the public, and any company that does decide to discriminate will have its public image absolutely annihilated. It *WILL* however remove any ability for a minority group to be looked down on because these are in place. Which is pretty much the only reason people look down on minority groups to begin with.

They are great ideas. Why does the government need to know the race of my employees? Why do I need to hire people based on race and gender in the first place. DEI gets in the way of meritocracy and thus it’s gotta go. Simple as that
@nal004 but we're not a meritocracy and never have been. Race, gender, age, wealth, religious background have been, and still are regularly used to deny people employment regardless of their competency. Which leads to social segregation and worse economic activity for everyone.
Ensuring for-profit companies (who have zero morals to seek anything aside from money) don't engage in rampant discriminatory practices is necessary for the future and well being of our society.

Twenty years later now it’s “everything and everyone is racist and if you don’t recognize that and fight against racism you are racist” like what is that?
Can’t you see that holding all people regardless of gender or race to the same standard promotes good standards and competition and that giving a freebie or diversity hire to someone is only going to set them up for failure down the road? Joe Biden has almost explicitly called Kamala Harris a diversity hire (not something to be proud of) and you can see how well those two are doing.
