I think you need some floodlights on the back of the truck-just for deals like right here. Wouldn't hurt to have one of those head lamps also. If you step in a hole/twist ur ankle out ther by yourself-just saying...Be safe!
What’s going on Driver. Enjoyed the video. I was impressed. It’s definitely not your first lowboy pull. I pull the exact same trailer without the fourth axle. I pull it with a 2020 factory heavy haul KW W990. It’s a nice tractor but doesn’t make the same sweet music as your W900. That X15 with all the emissions crap sounds like it’s gonna come apart. Sure sounds like you got a Cat and it definitely sounds more like a big truck is supposed to! Stay safe Brother!
Take them glorified flip flops off you're better than that driver! Keep a pair of steel toes on ya feet unless you're on a long break. Liked & Subscribed either way because I'm gonna support the brothas no matter what. Keep it safe man!
Enjoyed the live commentary. Got a few questions. How did you get into heavy haul. Did an old timer train you. Did you get certifications? How much did that one load pay and how long did it take start to finish And last what are the hp, torque, and rears your running. And avg mpg when loaded. Excellent video. Keep posting
I first got introduced to heavy haul by hauling 30k-40k pound tractors on a stepdeck daily After I was comfortable with that ( 3 months ) i would move a load or 2 for a friend of mines using his lowboy, when he wasn’t available to move the load. I don’t have any certifications…. Now I have a customer that has about 30 pieces of equipment that he has to move frequently. So I move his equipment weekly and I give him a set rate for each piece of equipment. This load took 3 hours from pickup to drop off for $600 going 45 miles. 600hp / 2200 lb-ft / 3:55 rears
Basically for everyone who wants to get into heavy hauling this is coming from a 12 year heavy haul vet doing 13 axels GET THE PROPER TRAINING DONT just get on RUclips or social media listening to Influencer thinking you can just jump into heavy hauling you just setting yourself up for a really bad day. And don't go on the load board and just look at the rate it's alot of factors that comes into play when pricing to move a load. People just look at the rate and think it's good because they never seen them kind of numbers but truthfully it's shit money. So get the proper knowledge and training
@Taurus305. They better get proper training if they plan on having 13 axles 😂 that’s a whole different ball game. But 6-7 axles isn’t that difficult in my opinion.
I'm out of GA. I'm a flatbed driver. Got 1 year of experience. I want my own truck and want to get onto heavy hauling. What would you recommend to me in order to get into heavy hauling?
1 year is not enough time. I’ve been trucking a long time. Im an owner operator with my second truck. My advice I like to tell people is stay in the industry for at least 5 years before getting your own truck. There is going to be a lot of expenses that you’re not aware of. Build a relationship with as many shippers as possible. Every place you go to be friendly to everyone there. You give an attitude 1 times or in a bad mood that is how you will be remembered so when you have your own truck they will want to work with you. In heavy haul you should have at least 4 years of heavy haul experience before buying your own truck to do heavy haul on your own. When you’re looking for loads companies will pick the company with more experience. There not going to just over a million dollars worth of equipment or whatever with someone with just a year experience. Don’t try to lie to the shipper about your experience either. They been doing this long enough and they can smell a noobie 10 miles away. You may think 1 year is long but to everyone else it’s just a year. Take your time getting into heavy haul get the experience. Good luck
Great advice. I didn’t have that luxury. I’ve only been trucking 3 years. Got my own truck after 6 months of trucking. Never went to school for my cdls, I got over the road training and went to the dmv before the law changed. But during those 6 months of working for a company, it was a small company that had older trucks. I got paid 30% and I paid for my own fuel and got reimbursed at the end of the week. I did that to train myself on how to be a owner opp
💯💯 Thats what i want to do heavy haul....I be looking looking at truckstop and dat but not seeing alot of lowboy/rgn loads. Are permits and escort really expensive?

@Taurus305. But I agree with you. Everyone can’t do this job… but if you’re coming from flatbed/step deck, you’re already in the same ball field
What load boards are best in South Alabama For flatbed and heavy-haul? Good videos 1st time seeing you.
I’m not sure man. I use a local broker from my area and I have 2 direct customers. Haven’t been on the load board since I started 3 years ago.

Start hauling a step deck so you can get use to pulling bigger loads
Or get a job with a heavy haul company and let them train you up

Not at all bro. Permits only expensive if you use a 3rd party. Escorts not necessary unless your over 15 high or 13 wide
