A reason that tanker trucks only use 1 fuel tank is to lighten the trucks overall weight so it can haul more weight. Bulk haulers usually get paid by how much weight they haul not by the mile. The mire product in the trailer the mire money you make. The lighter u can make your truck, the mire weight u can get in the trailer.
I believe some tankers utilize a PTO system … so the truck would have one fuel tank and one hydraulic fluid tank . They remove the hydraulic tank when they remove the PTO
what use hydraulic fluid and needs a tank is called wet kit, pto works with the transmission like a extra gear, if was a tanker truck they may remove the fuel tank for less weight or to install the pto pump
Everyone of them trucks gonna need a One box or after treatment system replacement some time in the near future. Def better get an extended warranty to begin with.
Hey friend, this some good knowledge you feeding us. I just wanted to comment about them mid roof with the single tanks...those trucks are used on floor and decor accounts as well that's max weight hauling 5 days weekly so make sure you expect very well on engin mounts bushings etc.. unlike lease purchases company vehicles get service 1 time a year my truck was brand new and it got 2 only because brand new has to be checked at 15 thousands and i'm now at 103 thousands and just got my tune up but maybe them freight liners are built tuff because I've never had any problems so far🤞🏽...but good content friend
Yooo that's crazy, I just was there like 2 weeks ago, and inspect the mid roof one the 17 with 419k on it. I'm finishing the paperwork on the financing part. I'll be doing tanker as IC, I'm doing tanker right now as company driver on a company not too far from that yard
I am currently working on the tanker side of being an owner operator. Honestly, if I had known what I know now, I wouldn't have chosen it. It seems like the van side generates more revenue.
I'm not certain about your average weekly gross, but I can inform you that currently, the average gross for tanker drivers at Schneider is $4,300. If everything goes smoothly without any cancellations, you can earn $5,000 or more per week. However, when a cancellation occurs, it always affects the higher-paying load rather than the cheaper one. There is a reason in why there is a $5,000 sign-up bonus. They don’t have enough tanker driver but why is that? There is a significant amount of freight available, and if you have a truck payment, it will be covered. The question then becomes, how much are you actually taking home?
This is my personal experience so far, but I have spoken to other tanker drivers who have been in with Schneider owner operator for tanker a longer time and they have confirmed a similar number as mine. However, if you are able to find someone else who claims otherwise and can provide solid proof, I am open to learning from that individua.
See i cant trust those truck as my trucks coolant was getting into the oil, they said just keep driving till it stops because they're turning it in soon. That was about 30k miles like that
Yo, i notice you live in Florida. And i know insurance in Florida be high ass hell. If you do get these trucks which insurance company you going with??
I keep thinking about what you said about being penalized for early delivery. So you are buying their truck but they dictate if you are successful or not. That is the one thing that makes me stay away
9/10 I’m probably not getting a truck from Schneider unless something good pops up. I agree with you. They definitely need to change that rule but I doubt it’ll happen. I rather be early too
It won't the company gets charged and can possibly lose contracts ..it's not schneider its the company their delivering too who makes the rules.. even as a company driver it's that way with us...I mean you can always drop it and arrive it at time I do it every night, and be on your way to your next load ,it shouldn't be a problem because that tracker on trailer tells them that the trailer is at shipper so if you book yourself out it shouldn't stop you from being able to get your next load unless your live unload which schneider don't have to many of them and if so you have a windows time frame the shipper supposed to go by but we all know they don't 🤭
The main thing with these use trucks are the dpf and the engine air filters if they replace those you can make some money with a higher mileage truck
Most definitely. I’ll definitely have it changed before I buy my truck.
Buy one with an apu
@shumbushodavid6913 most definitely

Ahhh. Got cha. Makes sense. Thanks for the insight!

You would think right lol.

The International has a fixed upper bunk thats part of the body stability design. Makes the cab more rigid.
Ok ok. Appreciate that info man!
Always drove an international. Love them
That’ll probably be my second truck. Especially since everyone sells them so cheap
If you haven’t checked the Charlotte yard. Check there. And the Green Bay main terminal
Once I get around those. I’ll film at those. I’m at the one in Arkansas now.

@f.j.c4444 I’ll try to get some info and actually numbers. I make more now so it wouldn’t be worth it for be if that’s the actual numbers.
Have you checked out Pedigree Truck Sales or Lone Mountain Truck Leasing?
Lone mountain reviews scare me lol. Pedigree told me I’m a first time buyer I need 30% down.
Ritchie Brothers Auction!! They in a lot of states
That’ll be for my second truck for sure.
See i cant trust those truck as my trucks coolant was getting into the oil, they said just keep driving till it stops because they're turning it in soon. That was about 30k miles like that
Damn
👍✌
So you’re financing a truck, that means your are getting your own authority?
No. I’ll still be at Schneider under their authority for now.
Yo yo...lol...can you use tanker truck for dry van?
Yeah
You could, but it would affect your mpg because of the air dynamics
You will need to change the the fifth wheel…
Yo, i notice you live in Florida. And i know insurance in Florida be high ass hell. If you do get these trucks which insurance company you going with??
I’ll still be under Schneiders authority so I’ll be on their insurance
@@LifeOfKO Oooh, Ok, good to know. thanks 👍👍
Can you post the Financial place to purchase the trucks
There’s two on the website but you can use any financial company you want to. The two on the site are Wheaton financial and capital pacific funding.
I keep thinking about what you said about being penalized for early delivery. So you are buying their truck but they dictate if you are successful or not. That is the one thing that makes me stay away
I feel like they should change that, I’m the type who rather be early because it’s a problem if we’re late

@@sabrinacrayton4743 I heard they’re strict on the company side
Do you have to keep track of your ifta miles or does schneider do that since they do the filing?
They do it.
Specs...Fifth wheel...
