O efeito da guitarra no início é o "Talk Box" que consiste em uma mangueira que sai do alto falante do amplificador da guitarra, e essa mangueira vai até a boca do guitarrista. Ele, então, modifica o som da guitarra com a boca como se se estivesse falando com voz de guitarra. Era bem comum nos anos 70, por exemplo na música Show Me The Way, do Peter Frampton

That guitarrist is "Paulinho guitarra", he is the same guitarrist that recorded many of the first Tim Maia albuns (including the "rational culture" album). He also played with Marina Lima, Sandra de Sá, Cazuza, Banda Black Rio... the guy is a legend of the funk/soul guitar

I don’t know if you’d realized, but, with all reactions you’ve made, you just scratched the surface of brazilian musical production. There’s a lot of good songs and artists. Try to look for “Hermeto Paschoal”, “Gal Costa”, “Wilson Simonal - (dead)”, “Cauby Peixoto - (dead)”, “Nana Caymi”, “Paula Lima”. Also try a rithm called “Choro” or “Chorinho”. I think you”ll enjoy.

Hi, Frank! As I sadly said before, Ed Motta is not so appreciated like his uncle here in Brazil (probably he has more recognition in Europe than here). His taste is much less popish and much more jazzy (with funk, soul and R&B). He is posting in his social networks texts that he explains in a very personal point of view his discography and that old struggle: to record an album more commercial , making more money or to record something not so popular, but with the music style that really represents himself? (by the way: he did both and the implications are easy to imagine and check).
Please, check out these posts! It's really interesting and shows how hard is to be an incredibly talented artist, but not be able to do what he loves the most: the music as he think it should be!
