Another beautiful video Rich! I think you were channeling your inner David Attenborough. Love the new intro and incredible black water footage. And thank you for a night dive, so I don’t have to.
Wow! Really loved this episode specially Rich. Never saw a box crab like that (maybe next week…) and wow how do you get so clear images of the black water…? 😮
@@peterlamshed3688 we use Big Blue 15k lights. I like them as they have 160 degrees of cover each and they are more cost effective than other lights. They also have fiber remote control buttons. I think for video that you should have lights that go that high, especially if you are shooting something big. Often I don’t have them up that high.
Amazing work Rich and I like the style. A thought to consider… on stormy poor visibility days work on single species videos. Eg. All dolphins. All sharks, all Rays. Ok all single family if you don’t have single species in enough quantity. Hope to get back to Bonaire one day…. Keep up the good work!! We did coral restoration at Buddy Dive. Hey Rich, I am having trouble with my exposure. I have an A7Siii and 16 to 356 f4 lens. Could I ask how you get correct exposure? Thanks in advance, Pete
@@peterlamshed3688 it depends on what I am shooting ( sun balls the aperture is 18- 20) but i use the lighting bell curve on my Ninja and I aim for 80% exposure on the top of the bell curve. I use my underwater lights to fill in the foreground in this case. A similar display exists on the Sony and I try to get the center of the bell bell curve to be 75 to 80 percent to the right of the box as an alternative to the Ninja and I always have it active. When shooting wide angle I position my lights out wide level with the lens and point each slightly out. For macro I have them pointing in. Both reduce back scatter and glare. For macro the fish is more likely to come close to the lens as they are not getting blasted. I have 15000 and 18000 lumen lights max. Beyond this I can clean up and fine tune in post. I rarely adjust the exposure in post production. Does that help you?
@@peterlamshed3688 yes, I mainly use ISO. Remember though that there is an ISO range from 1200 to just below 2000 you want to avoid to avoid noise. Aperture also may need to be adjusted to avoid being totally washed out or adjusting depth of field. To shoot a sun ball you want to close your aperture down. Example: adjust to a small aperture f18-f22 vs say f14 ( larger aperture)
@@peterlamshed3688 Your are most welcome. This video has a great sunball. Here I closed the aperture down to somewhere between F18 and F20 and then adjusted the ISO. You film in the foreground dark areas with your lights. ruclips.net/video/4ZFhX4IaEHQ/видео.htmlsi=c3aRDqhJBMw-jNKi
