I tried to say hello to you Craig on the both days. I did however see you do a cheeky bit of recording on of the Dawlish Warren layout I was helping run on the Saturday in your smart shirt.
That Dawlish Warren layout is amazing! We were down at the real location last weekend and I can safely say the model really captures the beauty of the place..
@@vickielawless Chris Morris who owns it actually does have his own channel with this layout and others he has made. I have been involved with running this layout at shows since the end of September, as we have done the Swindon model railway event at the STEAM museum, Farnham model railway exhibition and Warley. Each show we have changed the era of what runs on the railway as we started in 1965 where steam was on its last appearance on that stretch of line and diesel power was taking over, Farnham we ran it in the 1970's and at Warley it was the 1980's.
@@bentullett6068 Thanks Ben! Hope to see the layout in person at some point, in the meantime I'll take a look at Chris's channel. Did you know that the Brunel holiday park and camping coaches are now up for sale as a business.?
Saw you were on the DCC Concepts stand on Sunday morning but you'd disappeared when I went back later in the afternoon. Ah well. Was a great show and those wider aisles helped. Bought lots of pre-loved goodies (which I did NOT expect).
Hi Craig - it was great to meet you on the stand and thanks for giving the channel a mention - I will eventually get around to do something on my channel - I bought various wagons and a class 56 for my Yorkshire based new 00 1989’s layout - some video will follow at some point
Thanks for the round up, Craig. I might becoming a bit addicted to your weekly vids although not sure about the semi naked look or the smart shirt either! Good to chat on Saturday and appreciated the DCC Concepts ABC system options more thanks to your explanation. Competition amongst our disrupting RTR boys is great for modellers so long as they cover the wide range we all seek.
Finally catching up on the Warley content great weekend was also helping out great to meet you at the DCC Concepts stand and discuss ABC shuttles and the like thanks again
Great to bump into you at Warley, even if it just for a few seconds but one thing I noticed about this year Warley that it was spacious, The 2023 Warley will forever be my favourite Warley I've ever been to and really like the interview with KR Models, great video
It was awesome to see you at Warley. It was a good show with some brilliant layouts, I was really impressed with the DCC sound for Thomas on John JMC's layout. Also I love class 156's, I miss having them on the EMR network. :)
I really enjoyed the show. I was there on Saturday and met you on the DCC concepts stand. I bought the ABC shuttle system after speaking to one the DCC Concepts chaps about it. Show was really good with some interesting layouts I'd not seen before. They best being a TMD layout near the traders and OO9 modular layout. Also bought a few things from various stands and came away with a Gronk which had 20% off so I got it at a good price. I thought Warley itself did a great job overall. They seemed to have listened and expanded the hall so that it was easier to get around and see everything. Just wish they had the NEC put more public seating down as a lot of people inc myself sat on the floor to eat lunch in an open area which I didn't think was good. That was my only gripe. Nice to see you had a good time bought a few things whilst you were there. Tim
Great video Craig...pity you did not get to see much at the show due to being on a stall .I enjoyed the Interview with Mike from K.R.Models and the problem with Bellerophon.😁
I don’t blame either KR or Ellis Clark for announcing WD 2-10-0s at the same time. Both had clearly been in development for a good few months before announcement, just an unfortunate accident. I expect Ellis Clark‘s will be better for quality and detail, but KR‘s will be a lot better value for money. (not saying KR‘s will be low detail, just not quite as high detailed as Ellis Clark)
I'm eagerly awaiting Bellerophon too. Such a shame about duplication of the Austerity, I hope the industry can find a way of avoiding this situation in the future. The way things are going just about every commercially viable class of loco will have been covered by the various manufacturers in a year or two, so re-vamps of existing ones might be the pattern using techno advances that may be doable (just guessing folks!) including animated footplate crew, realistic plumes of steam and smoke, emissions of the smell of the loco, depositing of ash and others I haven't thought of.
It's an option, but some features don't need to be added - detail is one thing, but adding features that serve no real purpose just for the sake of it adds to the already high costs :(
The Dapol and Accurascale Manor thing turned out OK both models are of a great standard but one manufacturer will do certain things differently to the other. I have both models and they both look fantastic.
Nice vid Craig, to many manufacturers out scraping a worn out barrel. Duplication / models being released at the same time by manufacturers is nothing new , Mainline & Lima with the warship , Lima & Hornby with the Western & now we have Heljan 47/57 & Bachmanns recent 47 & the deluge of class 37's from Accurascale & Bachmann, even wagons suffering from the duplication of manufacturers stuck in the rutt of looking at the same things, awash with HAA's CDA's FNA-d's , ViX ferry vans etc. Dapol addressing the real elephant in the room with the class 323 ( soon to be a common sight at Preston ) , a real watermark moment in 00 & hopefully the first of more emu models over the coming years. Tenders out for the next gen of units for Northern so the 156's maybe around for another 3-5 years. Probably looking at bi modes / battery for these that will see off the entire 150/156 / 158 & 769 fleets. The 156's on The Colne / Ormskirk diagrams & the Blackpool South line that takes up 2 units to run the full service all day.
It's a tricky world to be in, need to re tool everything that isn't to modern standards, I don't believe we need any better detail than we have now, so let's focus on making it more affordable for modellers 😃
You ever been to the NEC? The thing is Eric, we went right to the back of the hall, as far away as we possibly could - there wasn't ANYTHING or ONE near us as it was next to the fire escape, there was at least 100ft of free space behind the camera around it and everything else - I'm convinced he did it out of sheer ignorance!😆

I grabbed a nice Mancunian Class 150/1 complete with fitted sound!!! All sparkly new for £220
That's a bloody bargain mate! Very nice, won't go so well with the live steam though eh?😂

There's always one who walks in front of the camera in mid-interview!

I didn't attend this year ,but speaking to friends who did they were mightily disappointed.
They must have been in the minority mate that's all I can say to that😃
