These two can't be compared because the way they use their voice are different from each other. Jessie has a more metallic voice that can be compared to an electric guitar, her agility is undeniably superb. JHud on the other hand has got this rich, chocolatey and soulful sound. Her vibrato add more to the deliciousness of her voice, plus her power is explosive.
This pretty much. Both great but two different kinds of voices.
When JHud hits her Bb5's, they sound like a machine. Also, when she was performing Aretha songs on a late night show, she hit three C6's with ease. Her voice is getting better and better.

Actually, I think both kinda sound metallic (at least how they usually use their voices) They both kinda sound like the sounds of a machine working, Like power with a natural reverb that curbs the otherwise grating sound of metal. Like the... Passive ambience of an industrial city or something like that.
Jennifer's voice is kinda like the passive sound of a medieval oil industrial area. Rumbling, the scraping of oil-covered cogs, a free sound that's so loud and sounds so much larger than yourself that you almost feel your hair resting against your back raise because of the intense volume that you're hearing. Too much reverb to truly be either a rumble or a scrape. They kinda blend together to create a sound that has the best characterstics of each part.
Jessie's on the other hand is more of a quiet hum. Plasma, Tesla coils maybe with the slight dripping of water. It's... matte, Kind of a little dangerous. I'm getting flooded delapidated lab with working electricity vibes. It's the kinda vibe that has a story.
Yeahhh that was cringe but honestly I don't really know how to describe their voices. They share a lot similarities, but... kind of not at the same time? Idk man voices are weird when you think about it.

Jennifer can sustain slightly higher notes when belting, and Jessie has the better vocal agility (but Jennifer Hudson isn't really one to use her vocal agility very much). The both have a really good vibrato, Jennifer's is on the slower side, but it's a good kind of slow... kinda like Mariah Carey's, but with more soul. Jessie's is quicker, but it's well-developed and has great support. Jessie has more range when it comes to lower notes and high notes in head and whistle register. I can't really choose. They're both a few of the best singers that the 2010s and 2020s has to offer, just better in different areas than others. I will say, though... Jennifer Hudson did a more accurate cover of "I Will Always Love You" when honoring Whitney Houston. But Jessie J's performance of "My Heart Will Go On" was one of her best performances of her career.
Mariah's is natural vibrato. Jhud a little manipulated vibrato. Her natural vibrato is faster

They're both great and it was a tie in mid belting. They both were great. Once it went to E5 and beyond, J Hud took it because she has soooo much stamina in high belting.

If it's just about pure power and range, as a Jessie J fan I'd say Jhud has the edge, how she can hit those notes with ease.
But overall, I find Jessie J has way more to offer as a vocalist.
Even though they are both Sopranos, JJ is your typical Lyric Soprano. Her voice is flexible but smaller (when it comes to volume output). Jennifer is a Spinto (or Medium) Soprano. Spinto's have the range of Lyric Sopranos. However, because they have thicker/weightier vocal folds, they are able to stay higher longer. When it comes to Sopranos, being a Lyric is the most common. Spintos are the rarest.

Amo a Hudson, mas jessie é absurda, o vibrato dela é além da frequência normal da maioria dos cantores! A agilidade e intuição com oque fazer com a voz ao vivo é incrível! Os covers do singer 2018 por exemplo: ela não muda tanto como é o original, mas consegue colocar sua identidade mesmo assim!

you are beautiful goddesses of song. They cannot be compared. Jennifer Hudson is a spinto soprano. Large voice with a lot of body, more power and a little heavy, similar to the dramatic lyric soprano. Jessie J. is an almost light lyric soprano. Voice with less body, less power and less heavy with more agility. both are incredible. to make comparisons they have to be soprano spinto vs soprano spinto. or soprano lirica vs soprano lirica.

INCRÍVEIS AS DUAS! Pessoalmente prefiro a Jessie no vibrato e nas notas mais altas, a JHudson soa muito extridente nas ultimas. Mas é só gosto pessoal, ambas maravilhosas!!
Jessie possui um timbre mais escuro, deve ser por isso que nos agudos tu ache isso.
Talvez também o estridente, seja o nível de potência extraordinária da voz da Jhud.

Isso pq Jennifer tem um timbre mais brilhante, o que é semelhante a uma guitarra nas notas mais agudas, outrora se parece com um saxfone em notas ate f5, por isso muitas pessoas acham irritante e afirmam com total ignorância que ela apenas grita.

Jessie's voice more recognizable for me
Gosto muita da voz da Jennifer Hudson só que ela exagera no vibrato como ela não tem a agilidade vocal da Jessie j fica muito estridente, ela faz muito notas longas tipo pra querer provar que a voz é potente de fato é só que fica muito enjoativo a música fica muito linear sem dinâmica fica agudo desde o começo, já a Jessie j é um pacote completo agilidade, afinação, melisma,drive,yodel, tudo impecável tecnicamente e emocionalmente também, apesar das músicas da Jessie não apresentarem notas muito longas na região do agudo quando ela canta Whitney Houston e Celine Dion sustenta perfeitamente no programa The Singer na China o qual ela ganhou prova isso.
Realmente falta agilidade na voz dela, no entanto não acho que jhud queira provar alguma coisa com as notas longas, cada cantor explora suas habilidades naquilo em que é bom.
JHUD is a mezzo. Jessie is a lyrical soprano. Jessie has a much easier time doing those high notes. JHUd worked her butt off to have the range she does. My hats off to JHUD

Jennifer is a spinto soprano just because a person has a bigger voice doesn’t necessarily make them a mezzo so that’s not really the characteristics of a mezzo because even sopranos have heavy voice or a big voice. Any musical teacher will tell you Jennifers voice is right between dramatic soprano and spinto soprano voice lives right between those fachs. And Jennifer Hudson‘s tessitura is very high you gotta understand most people who sing in church they are trying to sing from a chestier sound even the highest sopranos have a huge voice in gospel music because most church singers sing from the diaphragm a lot I mean they’re very robust even the ones that sing with a lot of agility you may find a few Sopranos and gospel music that has a natural light voice but you gotta understand a person who belts a lot would technically have a rounder sound even if they are high soprano because that is where they approach their singing style from
I love Jess but obvioulsy on anything above G5 Jennifer wins.
It all depends on the song they are singing any whitney Houston song jhud undeniable have it hands down but if it's a celine Dion it's Jessie j although jhud can give her a good run for it
