A lot of old Super Mario Brothers Games are like that when you think about it. You can just play 2 players and switch between Mario and Luigi every time you die and therefore have twice as much lives.

I remember Willow being the "Poor Man's Zelda", because Zelda's price never went down even years after it was released, but Willow was always on sale. And "Super Dodgeball!" was amazing! It was a bargain bin purchase right along with "River City Ransom" and I never regretted it.

    Hey Greg,
If you’re playing Mike Tyson’s Punch Out! on an old school tv, I’m sure you can beat him. The secret I never hear people talk about, but it worked for me, was: when you dash to the side to avoid a punch, don’t let Mac centre himself, rather, if you dodge left, quickly tap right to quickly centre yourself, now you’ll have just enough time to actually counter attack. Try it a few times and you’ll finally take out this old school classic.
    Love the content!

IMO the most underrated game is "Ring King". While "punchout" is far considered the prime boxing game on NES what I love is how "Ring King" allows you to make your boxer stronger, faster and take more hits by leveling up in "practice". The game also often gives you boxers close to your stats to make it more balanced so you don't destroy everyone. And the password feature lets you save all that hard work. Then you can fight a 2nd player, go for a cup in tournament or go for the #1 spot in rookie, USA and world spots. You don't have the crazy boxers like from "punchout" but I love that game. Played for hours as a kid.

“The final countdown” is in so many things to do with pop culture. It’s weird… I don’t think the song on its own ever hit major mainstream success, yet it’s been used in so many shows, movies and commercials that it’s a legendary song.

I have an opinion on some of these games. If I don't mention one, I never played it, not enough play time or I don't remember.
Battletoads: Difficulty is high yet it's fun to play. Back in 2020, I beat it with a warp. Plus, I watched Bootsy Beats Battletoads. Those videos helped me a bunch.
Castlevania: My personal favorite Castlevania on the system. Lots of fun even though it's tough. Especially the Frankenstein boss with his hunchback. He gives me trouble.
Contra: Oh, no! Not again! I don't like this game. Why?! I'll tell you..... I LOVE THIS GAME!!!
Double Dragon: I didn't care for it. I won't call it a bad game. That would be unfair of me to do that.
Double Dragon 2: I like this one better. I beat it with a continue code back in 2020. I made a rule: Game Genie was not allowed but a level skip or continue code if I got stuck on a level is okay. However, I must return to that level. Cannot skip it and I must beat it.
Duck Hunt: I remember not playing this until I was 9 years old. The music scared me so much as a young kid. Nowadays, I like it and it's a fun light gun title.
Guerrilla War: Fun one. Glad it has unlimited continues.
Gun Nac: Great shoot em up and it's an NES favorite. I own the Famicom version.
Gyruss: I like this game. Music is pretty good. I like the 30 lives code is backwards if you want extra lives.
Life Force: I like this better than Gradius on the NES. I read that the Japanese version is faster.
Mike Tyson's Punch Out: What a good game! I managed to beat Tyson with many tries.
S.C.A.T: Really cool game! It's like if Contra was advanced.
Super C: One of my favorite NES games ever! I remember getting a copy at a Goodwill when I was younger along with my grandmother. Didn't know this series existed.
Super Mario Bros: My first video game and I still enjoy it
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: I like it okay. I prefer the original arcade mostly for the music, sound effects and the final boss.
Tetris: One of the best puzzle games. Tengen and Nintendo versions are worth owning. I remember playing the Tengen version with my nephew. He passed on last year... RIP David

couldnt beat og castlvania for years. Could get as far as the reaper and could never kill him until i learned about getting to him with the triple shot and holy water. Makes him arguably the easiest boss. After that, the last level and drac are tough but beatable for me without any specific set up like i need for the reaper. Reaper is still the hardest boss in any cv game in my experience.
